Hilda (Jean Alexander) is on edge over son Trevor’s (Jonathan Collins) actions and snaps at Elsie (Pat Phoenix) and Lucille (Jennifer Moss) who wants Trevor to return a borrowed pen. The residents later confront the Ogdens about Trevor's theft and Hilda promises to pay them back with Stan's (Bernard Youens) earnings from his upcoming wrestling match. Minnie (Margot Bryant) gets Tickler Murphy (Patrick McAlinney) to rearrange the furniture in the back room of No.5 to accommodate her new television set. Amidst all the political chaos Ena (Violet Carson) cleverly manipulates the situation by bringing all the political canvassers together at the vestry at the same time to argue it out amongst themselves. When a bemused Ena leaves them to it she walks down the street singing “Land of Hope and Glory”.
Loved Ena laughing at the end. May use as my ringtone it will make me smile. Thank you for these episodes they are brilliant.
Ena would have harsh words to say to Sir Starmer.
I’m sure Ena was Labour down the line. She wasn’t a Tory 😊
Thank You. Elsie & Hilda first scene was fab. Ena with the 3 politicians was just class and very funny. Land of Hope & Glory seemed very appropriate at the end.
This one's a real treat! Hilda singing "Loving that man of mine" and Minnie having to come clean for the love of seed cake. Stan banging the couch... I've seen the fight, but not the lead-up! Precious. Thank you so much.
Really want to the 16th September were Jack Howarth supposedly stops mid sentence in a scene.
@@ohuntermc9321 Just checked and I do have 16th September. Will upload that for you 😊
