David (Alan Rothwell) suffers a nasty injury during a benefit football match which could have life changing consequences for his career. The residents speculate over who gave Frank Turner (Tom Watson) a pasting in the previous episode but they are all surprised when the hero comes forward. While Annie (Doris Speed) enjoys queening it over the Licensed Victualler’s ball in her capacity as lady chairman with Lionel (Edward Evans) cutting a dashing figure wearing his dinner suit and medals.

@@happiness4812Really a stark contrast to the Nellie Harvey of the early 70s. I always felt she was only nice to “Anne” back then for “Jackie’s” sake.
