Thanks once again, good episode. Irma and David make a lovely couple, I'm glad they made it up and got re-engaged. Glad also David put snobby Ken in his place about The Ogdens. Elsie found Dennis out in not doing the jobs, that was funny. Also funny him being given a job in the shop. Poor Albert finding out his coin collection is worthless. That's sad.

Brilliant episode - an ordinary family drama (appendicitis) made riveting by brilliant directing, acting and writing, with Anne Reid as Valerie outstanding like always and a lovely reminder of Albert's love and care beneath his miserable moaning exterior. Also there's Hilda wreaking psychological havoc by threatening a 'bogey man' - almost certainly the root of Peter's eventual chronic alcoholism. Compare and contrast with the 2024 drivel.

Thanks for sharing. Poor Val. I had chickenpox when 30yrs old, never had it when young, was in alot of pain, off work 6 weeks. Was told it's worse when adult. Ken being horrible to Hilda, he can't bear the thought of having her as an in-law. Feel sorry for Irma because her abd David are a fab couple. Wonder if Elsie will find Dennis out in not doing most of the white-washing ?

I got chickenpox from one of my patients when I was in my early twenties . It was no joke, at one point my fever was so high I was delusional . Getting it as adult can have long term consequences .

The sound was fine to me and I do notice when I listen to radio stories if it's bad .. Great job doing these ..Thankyou
