    Although I've already educated myself about most of things that were explained in this video, it really helps to keep listening to these points and being reminded. Because somewhere along the way, it gets exhausting to keep trying and failing to lose weight. It's keeps going up and down. I'll lose 2-3kg, again gain back 1-2kg. Cycle repeats.
    So I lose the motivation.
    But then we watch such videos and get re-educated and re-motivated to take it more seriously and try again 😊
    So thanks a lot for this! ❤️

    Myth : PCOS Only Affects Overweight Women
    It is true that many women who have PCOS are overweight or obese. And it's also true that obesity can make PCOS symptoms worse. However, PCOS does not discriminate and can affect women of all shapes and sizes

    • @apoorvavijay526
      @apoorvavijay526 Год назад +3

      True that, it causes a normal weighing woman to eventually become obese as well. The symptoms show up regardless of weight gain, the doctors don’t know how to fix the irregular problem for teenagers as well.

    I will disagree with some of the points discussed in this video. I was in my idle weight. After 2 years, I started gaining weight withbthe sane kind of diet I used to have. Also, women with pcos have lower abdominal fat due to bloating which is a permanent thing. The way every women is different when it comes to experiencing periods and pregnancy, PCOS is also different in everyone. We can't say that because of being obesity, we get pcos. I can share my pics of looking underweight but having pcos. It got changed in 2 years after getting diagnosed with pcos.

    • @pawanpreetkaur4699
      @pawanpreetkaur4699 10 месяцев назад

      I agree with you. Doctors are ignorant and blame patients for not exercising and saying it is a “Lifestyle Issue”. My weight was literally 50kg when my PCOS started. I have always been so skinny that people use to call me tiny. I got COVID and right after that I got stomach issues and I probably became insulin resistant and PCOS developed. Instead of trying to find the root cause. They blamed it on “OBESE” people. I have been diagnosed for a year now and I have gained 10 kg. Mostly around belly and also full body like double chin and all. Despite me not eating sugar and trying my best to exercise and eat healthy. They laugh about it not recognizing that PCOS patients suffer different level of fatigue which really prevents us from being able to be very active. And not matter how hard we try, if we loose at 1% rate its increasing at 10%. So its like a battle. But why do they care, Its a “DISORDER” or “SYNDROME”

    • @laxmikaushik2860
      @laxmikaushik2860 5 месяцев назад +2

      Yess the Indian medical system sucks. They are so ignorant about patients mental health or other things. All they do is prescribe oc pills, hormonal pills, 100 ways to get pregnant thats it. But the major goal isn't to get pregnant. They totally ignore tge nutrition factor which is a major game changer in pcos.
      When i was diagnosed with pcos back in 2020, i was only 37 kgs. And that doc didn't even bothered ti discuss what actually is pcos. She just told my family that it'll lead to infertility in future.
      Its been 4 years since i was diagnosed, changed 2 gyanc but nothing helped. I've gained almost 20kg in 4 years. My period gets delayed to max 6 months. But the doc doesn't give a shit about it. All she does is eat hormonal pills, eat metformine and come after 3months😶🙏🏻

    In the next video, can you cover questions related to acne, facial hair growth (hirsutism), methods of lowering testosterone and supplements to control the symptoms of PCOS
    Also, you've mentioned PCOS in the video but in the caption it says pcod which indicates that it's a disease in contrast to what the specialist said. There's also a misconception going around that pcod and pcos are different where pcod is known to have cysts in the ovaries which doesn't lead to hormonal imbalance. There's a need to bust this myth if the term pcod doesn't exist.
    Thank you

    This is such a beautiful community! I’m 26 and have been recently diagnosed with PCOS and in a span of 2 years I became obese and have developed a moon face. What I am struggling with right now is - I don’t get my periods for about 2 days, but then when I do get them, I bleed for 1-2 months. Even my gynac hasn’t been able to tell me why - she just manages the cycle with regestrone. But I’m worried - can somebody help me out with this pls? Also, is heart burn and severe acidity effects of PCOS and how do we manage these?

    I am confused wrt the point where Dr. Ramya mentioned each diagnosis of PCOS should be individualized and one should know the body but also went to say 1hr walking is waste of time. Some people with PCOS have lower back pain etc (i am one of them and confirmed by doctor) and i was initially asked to keep hold on things and start with walking (not to ignore weight training, but postpone). Can you please clarify.

    Hello doctor, thank u for the nice conversation. If a girl have irregular periods does it mean she have PCOS ? If doing abdominal scan cannot diagnose PCOS , can u please clarify us what is the right method to diagnose it , please clarify and educate us on this one

    • @pawanpreetkaur4699
      @pawanpreetkaur4699 10 месяцев назад

      One thing i want to share is, 4 years ago, I got irregular periods and that time testosterone was high but i didn’t have PCOS yet. I was ok after that for 3 years. So yes if you have irregular periods, does not necessarily mean you have PCOS. however, if you keep on the same sugar intake and you dont manage your sugar level, it can develop PCOS.
      The symptoms are:
      High blood sugar levels (at risk or pre diabetic)
      High level of testosterone
      Irregular periods
      Unwanted hair growth
      Fat gain
      Fatigue, tired all the time no energy
      Irritated mood
      Sleep issues
      Depression
      Can be cyst in ovaries (i don’t have that though)
      But i have all other symptoms.
      If you have 3 of above symptoms then you can be diagnosed with pcos. My blood sugar was high at risk of diabetes and my testosterone was higher than usual too. Then other symptoms slowly started showing within 4-5 months.
      So blood tests are the best way to diagnose, if you have INSULIN RESISTANCE PCOS.
      Other type is Inflammatory.
      You should search types of PCOS and match if your symptoms match to one of them better. Knowing the type is the first step to working towards helping yourself reverse PCOS.
