- Hey everyone, thank you for checking out this video! I thought you'd all enjoy a compilation of some of my favorite moments I had in my Jeep TJ. I owe a lot to this Jeep as it helped kickstart the channel and taught me A TON about driving as well as fixing 4x4 vehicles. I can't thank you guys enough for your support. I hope you all enjoy this video and reflect with me on my TJ days!
For those of you who are new to the channel, this TJ was a previous vehicle I owned. I built it up, went on thousands of miles of adventures, and eventually sold it as I had an incredible opportunity that I couldn't pass up with a new vehicle - the Tacoma. I sure miss this rig, but on to bigger and better things.

Man, this makes me miss warm weather. I can't wait to take my TJR out this spring and summer.
The Ozark's remind me so much of Beavers Bend State Park in Southeastern Oklahoma. I suppose that's obvious because the Ozark's are relatively close to that Park, but it's nice being able to see that in your videos. A little bit of home mixed some nice off-roading and camping! Doesn't get much better than that.
Loved the TJ and love the Tacoma. In the end, it's all about what gets you on the trail. Amazing videos Grant! Keep it up!!

I miss seeing the TJ content😢 I bought a TJ right around the same time you started your channel and I instantly subscribed. My build took a lot of inspiration from yours. I live in East Texas and NW Arkansas has always been my favorite camping/offroad spot. If you happen to see this comment 3 years later lol I try to make a trip up there at least 2 or 3 times a year and would love to meet you and hit some trails with you!

Just added a 2004 Rubicon to the family mix. Working on improving the suspension set up and other mods as needed. Loved your rig setup to help with ideas for mine. Sure not going to find that kinda water crossing stuff in New Mexico.

Why is it that you like your TJ more? I have a 99 TJ and I prefer my JL 2021
Ezekio3160 two main reasons. Reason 1, it’s a lot easier to work on because it doesn’t have all the screens and stuff. Reason 2, It’s not as expensive as my JK, so I wouldn’t really care if I destroyed it. JK is really nice, but I like my old TJ. I guess I’m just more old fashioned.
@@texanerection492 easier to work on, guess I’m investing in upgrading my TJ then, thanks! It’s all stock at the moment. Where should I start? I want to be able to do some medium rock crawling like in this video.
Ezekio3160 this is the order of my upgrades. MT tires, bumper (front and rear), lift, winch. Getting lockers put in soon. I’m thinking about upgrading the rear axle because they can be toothpicks. Another reason I upgrade/off-road with my TJ is because I want my JK to get good mpg. I don’t want my off-road rig to be my daily. In the end of the day you should prioritize mods by what you can afford, and what’s most important for you. Do some digging. Go out in a Jeeping group and find what works and what doesn’t work. Sometimes it’s trial and error, but sometimes it’s not. If you have anymore questions I’ll give my best answer.
I will pray every day that your channel gets big enough to where you can build a TJ from stock

Your videos are the best, do you have a completed list of the mods and products you used to build the TJ. Are you planning another build??
Love the TJ. Did you actually cut the openings in your engine hood to install that black cover? I ordered it but it’s hard for me to conceive of that being a good idea. I might just install it right over the top without cutting the openings. But then I also think that would trap water and eventually rust out the hood.
You need a dedicated rock crawling rig now! It'll happen..just wait.

How do you feel your TJ handles making the trip to the trails, completing the trails and driving home? Anything you not r has worn down much faster or needing to be replaced more frequently. Decking on a TJ or JK just for over landing and can’t decide whether to trailer it with my truck or drive it to all the trails. Clean Jeep, keep it up

My dream built one day i am gonna make jeep like this.
You don't need to spend $64,000 - $134,000 to go wheeling, the TJ is even better than the JK and JL. With the TJs small size it can go places the larger problem prone JK and JL can't, and you can find nicely built ones on 35s for $17,000.
What axles, lift and wheels are you running? Have SYE kit?
I have a question is it normal for the Tj to be a wobbly in the rear when you drive it

As nice as the Tacoma's are...
There is something about the TJ Jeep... It's got heart and soul. They are so good right out of the box, awesome when modified. But yea they not good for a family unless you go JK four door etc... Must say you had a nice TJ though.
Agree! I miss it sometimes, but in my current stage of life, the Tacoma wins. Would love the TJ as a second vehicle to putt around in.

No lockers but running 4.56 gears. And yes exhaust was a cherry bomb I believe. Previous owner put that on

It's a smittybilt but I cut the side wings off. XRC or something like that? Those probably aren't the exact letters.

People are saying keep the jeep TJ simple and light weight, I'm seeing people using aluminum Rock sliders and low profile bumpers and sometimes they dont even have the spare tire on.. are you having anything weight troubles with what you load on it?.
The TJ is already light weight. Definitely would never use aluminum sliders. The smaller bumpers are perfectly fine. But I'd advise a spare.
