I recently purchased a huge coin collection from a family. Most of the coins we collected prior to 1980. This video features 2 Dansco-style Albums (pre-1970) filled with Key Date, Semi-Key Date Silver Dimes worth a lot of money
The Barber Dime refers to a series of ten-cent coins in the United States that were designed by Charles E. Barber, the Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. The Barber Dime was minted from 1892 to 1916 and is part of a larger series that includes Barber Quarters and Barber Half Dollars, all featuring similar designs.
Barber Dimes are part of American numismatic history and are collected for their historical significance and varying levels of rarity and were succeeded by the Mercury Dime in 1916, featuring a new and more artistic design.
The Mercury Dime was minted in the United States from 1916 to 1945. Despite its name, the coin does not actually depict the Roman god Mercury. Instead, the design features a depiction of Liberty wearing a winged cap, which led to the coin being commonly referred to as the "Mercury Dime.
The Mercury Dime is a classic and beloved coin in American numismatics, appreciated for its artistry and symbolism and was replaced with the Roosevelt Dime.
