Hey Ben I have a maytag washer model MVW7232HW0 when you press start it senses then goes immediately to saying cycle complete. I can't recall if it sprays any water or not but don't believe so. I've had this problem on the older models but those models have a motor and motor start capacitor. This one doesn't have a capacitor I see and has more of a stator style motor. You've been helpful in the past so thought I'd pick your brain. Going to go through it tomarrow step by step.

JUST A NOTICE!!! My dryer would not start. I checked everything, EVERYTHING, before taking it apart to test the motor. When I had performed the continuity test on the white & blue wire connect and then the white & black wire connect into the motor switch, everything was good. SO!! I did a VOLTAGE TEST where I put a jump wire for the door switch to mimic the door being closed. I put my multimeter on ACV 250. I plugged the dryer in. Set the timer to heat dry and pushed the start switch. BOO-YAH!!! It worked. So then I removed the multimeter probes from the connection and tried the start switch again. It is still working.
APPARENTLY when I had pushed those probes into the wire harness, I snugged up a loose wire. EVERYONE told me that it was VERY rare that a motor would go bad on a Whirlpool dryer, especially a 3 year old dryer.
I was about to load this dryer up and take it to a parts shop to put a new motor in. WHEW!!! Saved a few hundred dollars by checking everything.

We replaced the thermal fuse like 4-5 months ago and the dryer stopped working again after using it, so first thing we tested was the door switch, we used tape till we got a new one and it worked for a little bit but stopped again, so we then bought the start switch and it's still not coming on. We tested the thermal fuse and got a reading so if we tape the door switch and turn the drum counter clockwise as we press the start button and it is not coming on does that mean the motor could be dead also?

We have a Whirlpool dryer model # WED4850HW0 that stopped running after 3 minutes. It is 3 years old. I checked all the suggested issues as shown in this video. Nothing helped.
I found something odd. I turned the dryer timer switch to a cycle, then pressed the start switch. I only heard a minute click of the switch as I pushed it. The dryer did not come on. The odd thing was when I opened the dryer door, I heard a "thunk" sound and felt a vibration from the "thunk" of the start switch. This also happened when I set the dry cycle, then pushed start. Nothing happened until I turned the dryer timer / cycle switch to the next dry cycle. When the timer switch was turned passed the off between cycles, the audible "thunk" sound and the vibration from the "thunk" of the start switch happened again as it did when I opened the dryer door.
SO, when the timer dry cycle was ended by either the door opening, triggering the door switch, or when turning the timer to the off position, this audible "thunk" sound and the vibration from the "thunk" of the start switch happens.
    Any ideas?

I need help someone. I have an older estate whirlpool electric dryer. I bought this house and had an electric company come out and replace and update some outlets -as well as the breaker box.
So during the move my kid said they almost lost the dryer while moving it into the uhaul truck. That it didn’t fall. I see no damage of it on the outside from a fall off a ramp. It worked great before the move. Now it doesn’t. I can move the timer and sometimes it will come on and click and sometimes it doesn’t. So when I hear the timer on I hit the start button but nothing. I can turn the temp from high to low okay but on the lowest temp the timer clicking stops. I bought a multi meter and new thermal fuse kit for it. I’m doing this by myself. Can someone lead me to my first to places before taking the whole thing apart?

UPDATE!!! In March I had left the comment below. I had found that when I had check the white, blue and black wires at the motor, I had accidently caused one of those wires to be tightened up in it's socket position. This was what was wrong with my dryer not starting. unfortunately, a few days ago, the dryer quit again. I just knew it had to be that wire again, but unsure which one it was. I found that, when I got back to the wire coupler that attaches to the motor, when I had pulled on each of the three wires, the white wire was very loose. I unhooked the coupler and seen that there was some discoloring where the white wire was. It was sparking due to being loose.
I had to use the probe of my multimeter to adjust the white wire connector. Then re-installed the coupler. And we are all good, again.

Shock means its grounded out somewhere. Typically the cord coming into the unit has been wired wrong in my experience. But somewhere, there's a loose wire thats grounding the cabinet causing you to get electrocuted.
