Well, RE doesn't have the history of adding a lot of features once the bikes are launched. So I am a bit sceptical. They took 5 years for adding alloys on 650s and other bikes in the portfolio haven't seen anything substantial either. So this is what you will get for the next 5 years. RE will quickly move on to the next launch now.

Since RE motorcycles have been torque monsters for quite some time now, I don't think city commute is going to be much of a hassle. The new Himalayan might just deliver a stupendous amount of low end torque but then again that's wishful thinking. So, fingers crossed. Let's wait and watch!!

As a Himalyan BS6 owner for 3years my honest thoughts would be that the fuel tank tooka a bit less masculine and the instrument cluster with a single round meter looks a bit less classy.Probably a TFT screen like the 290adv would have been a good option.
I think it's superb and I was going to try it out. The only small regret (just to make a comment) is that for a 450cm3 I'd have liked it to do 200kg max fully loaded.
So far the motorcycle seems impressive. I would like to know how much wattage the alternator provides? Specifically how much extra watts are available for heated grips and heated liner. Also, a Garmin GPS. Thank you.

Though i did not take test ride but i tried sitting on it and i did not feel seating position comfortable. whereas the sitting position on scram 411 was much more comfortable than this. have some suggestion please reply

If it's well priced and I end up buying it, I'll probably slap in the old Duke stop lights, like the ones from gen 1. And rewire the existing stop+indicator lights to be just indicators. This is probably, bcz I feel, in foggy condition, having a larger brake light, placed a bit higher, will help with keeping you visible for vehicles behind you. This is still a thought though, which popped in my mind seeing the empty slot shape between the rear fender and the indicator mount flap

Tubeless rims are going to be expensive since they will be imported. I am surprised we don't have any OEM in India to localise the sourcing of this vital component. RE had lot of time in during development of this bike to sort this out but looks like they couldn't.
People start comparing but I am proud of Royal Enfield for giving India it's own adventure tourer bike and I am sure it's just beginning soon it's going to make name around the world 🌎
Varun, one doubt, how smooth is the engine ? On a scale of 1 to 10 as compared with CB350RS for reference. Coming from a Honda fan, this will be my 1st RE. Didn't like the vibrations of earlier RE engines. Thank you.
VP says the new gen Royal Enfield's are quite refined. We saw a dramatic shift after the 650s rolled out. Even the J series platform is exceptionally refined. There is a buzz around the bar ends and the tank at higher revs but nothing too problematic.

Aww dude that's a bummer with the Google Maps thing. So if I understand correctly, we open GMaps and connect with the motorcycle and keep the phone in our pocket but cannot turn off the screen? Am I correct in understanding this? Could be fixed via firmware update easily. Surprising no one else has mentioned this. Also someone mentioned the gold rims are from Excel Takasago. Is that correct?
That's absolutely right. The screen once locked makes the screen resort to turn by turn. RE's counter to that is a charging port below the handlebar. Its not the best solution but its what we get for now. Needs fixing for sure.

Scram 450 looks more likely. But tubeless is something that we cannot expect as of now. The Hunter 450 if launched should have tubeless.

Aww dude that's a bummer with the Google Maps thing. So if I understand correctly, we open GMaps and connect with the motorcycle and keep the phone in our pocket but cannot turn off the screen? Am I correct in understanding this? Could be fixed via firmware update easily.

Also someone mentioned the gold rims are from Excel Takasago. Is that correct?
That's absolutely right. The screen once locked makes the screen resort to turn by turn. RE's counter to that is a charging port below the handlebar. Its not the best solution but its what we get for now. Needs fixing for sure.
