No offence, but this looks like a joint venture of Hunter and super meteor designers. For me, the OG 650 twin still at the top. Thanks to PD for delivering the top notch content we expect and get delivered every time.
I really like this bike, mainly because of the styling & powerplant. I think Royal Enfield have done a good job at incorporating the practically of the old style 'messenger bike' and the cool tradition. This bike looks much better than anything coming out of Japan or China, but I'm a bit biased because I like air-cooled bikes (an oil cooler gets my thumbs up). I'm looking forward to seeing other colour style of the Shotgun, so if Royal Enfield were to offer lots of good quality chrome, it will definitely be a great bike. For some reason, I like the Shotgun more than the Super Meteor. That blacked out look with green tank & side covers is rather nice I must say. A big thanks to PowerDrift for the video clip. Best wishes to you from the south west coast of the island of Australia.
So the review concludes interceptor still the best for both city and highway🙏and thought shotgun is a fantastic product the suspension will kill your back in Indian road conditions.......... Thx PD you guys are beyond awesome❤️❤️
Job well done RE for carrying forward its 'foot peg' legacy since the inception of Interceptor. I wouldn't blame RE for that, as I believe they might have not had the time to fix these complaints that were made really loud by thousands of customers, while they are busy with its continuous process of repainting and changing seat positions of their most abused 650 line up (more to come 650 scram, 650 classic, 650 tom, 650 di**, 650 Harry etc..). And Varun, it's not your height, you know it, we know it, RE knows it. So again, job well done RE!
I clocked 30K on Int 650. Air cooled engine needs mass for cooling... after first 1000 kms, your body gets programmed to the foot peg position. Did I mention that I am 5ft 6 Inches short! Interceptor has a many shortcomings... plastc(flexible) base for seat, pathetic mirrors, useless front suspension, poor quality tyres etc... Foot peg position isn't one of them in my opinion! Even then the emotion it evokes is unforgettable at its price.
I think PD had an unexpected blessing, not being able to go to LA for the media ride. Their review of the Shotgun in Pune is perfect for the Indian perspective. Much appreciated!! 😁😁
I personally feel the shotgun is catered to the US market more . The riders triangle remind me of the choppers and modified harleys. The suspension is also tuned for smooth straight higways with less twisties. It is not very suitable for our bumpy and twisty roads.

I think it looks fantastic, RE has done a stellar job. The only disappointed is the alloy wheels which was in their original design from a few years ago. Anyone knows why they didn't use those kind of alloys?
As for the handlebar perhaps being too far forward, I think the problem can be easily solved by fitting "offset" risers, that is, those that simultaneously raise (2 to 3 cm) and set back (2 cm) the handlebar 😉
I think I will have to disagree, Conti for me is the best of the lot. Interceptor while good, isnt as fun as I would like it to be. But this is just me, cheers!
Handlebar can be raised easily. But what I am more concerned about is the ground clearance. With such long wheelbase 140mm gc isn't much. Did you manage to scrape the underbelly on a hump??
I just got my super meteor 650 and its a fantastic machine..although it is 30 kgs heavier than the interceptor, the super meteor feels lighter even during parking and moving around..i am very happy with the bike and thanks to powerdrift for the OG reviews ❤
Good One Varun, Just an observation, when i saw the Shotgun 650, for the first time, the TVS Ronin came to my mind. I think TVS would have visualiaed like this when they were designing RONIN, unfortunately they messes up the overall execution. Where TVS has missed and messed up with the RONIN, RE has nailed it with the Shotgun. Any thoughts on this?

@@powerdriftofficial Hi there, Switzerland, overall Royal Enfield can by found on big cities here, but there's officialy none in my region.
