Built my own transmission myself, after paying a shop here in LittleRock to do it and it didn't last 6k miles. Followed all of Richards suggestions for updates and improvements .3 years later now, and still going strong.Very grateful for your videos.!!

We've been noticing microphone issues in the past few weeks to a month. In this video, Richards mic is off. Other videos we notice his mic will cut off then on again and sometimes stay on the rest of the video however, the opposite happens too. FYI.

I had a 2000 GMC sierra big truck lifted big heavy tires transmission was serviced filter fluid all the good stuff and we done it 20,000 miles occasionally every 15,000 it would get done but never over 20 that Transmission lasted from 2000 at time of purchase, it was a used vehicle low mileage and it was still running great 15 years later with almost 330,000 miles on a factory transmission. The rear differential had been done twice.

I always changed my transmission fluid when the fluid was still in decent condition I didn’t let my fluid get real bad this way when you change it when it’s still good you always have good fluid in your transmission but I use Amsoil transmission fluid. Now course I use Amsoil and everything.

I started watching when you were at your other place, Precision transmission . It has always been very interesting. That being said it is sad that all your experience is going to be lost in just a few years since you are not training anyone to fill your shoes and that will be tragic.

When they engineered and installed that speed sensor, they have a plan. All of those engineers were looking at each other, saying general motors. We are gonna make a fortune off of this one. It will be back soon and we will get paid extra for removals and repairs.

Richard I've watching your channel ever since you started with RUclips why not have one torn down and cleaned and not video it and instead show us you rebuilding one I watched the rebuild on the 350 I think it would really jump your subscribers up if you would show rebuilding one every once in a while I love watching your channel but tearing them down all the time gets old watching I know you said it takes a while and you have to much experience in this line for anyone taking your secrets anyone' can take down one but putting it back takes a experience tech to get it right

I have a 4l65e out of a 06 gto im rebuilding, this transmission has a lot of similarities to mine. Unfortunately mine was run low on fluid by previous owner and the pump body has wear. The pump has the input shaft with teflons moved for the iss teeth but no teeth or sensor so the pump stator has the hole for the sensor but the pump body does not have the hole for the sensor. Transtar only shows the pump with a hole in the body for the sensor, not sure if that will cause any issues running that pump with a hole but no sensor. I can find a used one that looks right on the outside but is risky that the inside will be any good. Kind of stumped at the moment on what to do

Lol, Richard's gonna shit when he reads this....😮. ... Richard be nice to me😅... 2007 LTZ Tahoe, built in 12/05, in service date 01/06/06.... I have NEVER TOUCHED THE TRANS DIPSTICK.......😮.... it's got 150,000 pretty easy miles, it gets DELO every 3500 miles, but the trans has never been serviced or even the level checked. I have a concrete driveway that's clean o😂f ANY oil leaks (rare I know, DELO is my answer 15/40 diesel oil). It has even towed my 7x14 enclosed to the bike tracks. Runs fine, ... Richard YOU wanna Crack it open first-time ever...??....

    • @mikeday8826

Alot of the 8 speeds have issues, and there is a bulletin to flush the trans with a new type of fluid. Yours being a 22 model it already has the new fluid though.
