By making Palpatine endure the squalor of normal beings Sidious was born, determined to never let his gifts lead to anything less than complete dominion over the galaxy.
While there was spmethibg sinister inside young Palpatine he never had the drive to unleash it. Some kind of morality that held him back. Plagueis played upon Palpatine's desires, his naviety and hunger for more that allowed him to tear down those moral barriers.
"The Sith are considered evil." "Evil? What is that? Moments ago you defined yourself as a storm. You said you were death itself. Are you evil, then, or are you simply stronger and more awake than others?"

Funny this video popped up for me! I JUST got to Chapter 13 of the Plagueis novel where they get into this lore deep. The audiobook retelling of this novel is absolutely incredible as well and anyone who likes these stories should listen to it.
I know I just fall back so often on wishing that we could take a few steps back, and see these kinds of events from the prior generation; when Plagueis would have been the learner, and the logical Tenebrous beating the lessons into his head, but much like it is fun to see how the legendary Sidious was shaped into the monster he became, it would have been so cool to get more of that for his predecessors, especially since we know collectively so much less about them. The Emperor might not be a strictly central character, in Star Wars, but he's been teased apart, and dissected, as he's so iconic, and critical to the story, and I feel like it could be fun to get that for characters whose footsteps we are less knowledgeable of, and thus could learn more, but without the added weight of conflicting moments, as we know less about Plagueis, and so much less than Darth Tenebrous. It is still sort of odd, too me, the focus Plagueis placed on lightsaber combat, and not (sermingly) on stealthily using the Force socially? Darth Plagueis is rather well known for disdaining lightsaber duels, and seems to understand the role, and place, of the CURRENT Sith, in the galaxy. Surely, the ability to use lightsabers, when necessary, was valuable, as was learning how to keep the Force with one, and at the ready, for any moment when it might prove necessary, but the Sith practically never intended to actually use their weapon, and they were movers, and shakers, among galactic society, so I'd imagine Plagueis more training his apprentice how to use it to manipulate others, and further the Sith's goals, and to do it without drawing the attention of the Jedi.
Clever of Plageuis... Teaching Sideous by MAKING him HATE his teacher. So that he'd LEARN an teach him to be vicious an hateful an all about pain, what it is, an then how to use it.. perhaps even to make Palpatine regret what he'd done an suffer for it too a bit
@@Force_user57 Sith are often hypocritical.. Do you NOT know Sith in Star Wars. They're also VERY VERY much driven by emotions. ESPECIALLY Painful ones an Darker ones. Hence the whole fuel and points of the "Darkside" where'd you think it came from. It's not JUST a good n Evil thing. Passion an "in the moment" sorta Darkness works JUST AS well as long term, cultivated an distilled hate, malice an rage.. you think Sideous was gonna survive on being nice an thinking warm thoughts??? That WEAKENS Sith an this was PALPATINE/SIDEOUS we're talking about here. He may know what it is or of it but he'd rather die then let it drive him. In the moment one can "regret" something an use that. That inspires Anger an hate in THOSE situations fueling him to push past an survive... Or not an give in or Die possibly if he was found too weak an too lacking enough to not save otherwise. It's part of what the Sith do
We need a Darth Bane movie. So many Sith stories to choose from. Where’s the Sith series films? Cmon! Was there a skywalkeresque Sith “savior”? The Sith are so intriguing and fascinating.
Theres just something about Darth Sidious that makes him better than any other Sith before, or after him. Not even Emperor Vishiat compares in my eyes. Sidious IS the Sith.
For some reason, before this I assumed that Sidious was so adept at the Force and manipulation that he had managed to avoid the harshest of the training of a Sith. I used to think Sidious was adept at inflicting pain instead of being able to endure it himself. This also makes me rethink the Darth Vader comic in which a Kyber crystal mountain Sidious has in Exegol is constantly being tortured. Its powerful wailing of pain seems to have no effect on Sidious while Vader and everyone else is suffering in its presence. Was Sidious shielding himself with his powers or was he able to brush off the pain? The latter would make him even scarier than just showing his utter mastery of the Force.
Amazing holocron as always ! Disney will never fully grasp what a Sith truly is unfortunately. If they could, Tom Hiddleston would definitely be a great choice to play young Palpatine ! With The Acolyte ending, it seems Plagueis won’t even be Sidious’ master in canon which is abhorrent but sadly possible.
He had a natural, innate ability to mask his Force power/ presence. It's very, very rare. When he became aware of this talent consciously, he fine-tuned it to a degree that he could sit in a room amongst the entire Jedi Council at their PEAK power, and not be detected by them in the slightest. As a child, he subconsciously manifested this masking ability, so the Jedi never knew. Otherwise, they would have taken him as an infact to be trained at the Jedi Temple, ESPECIALLY once they tested his blood and found out his midichlorian count was over 20,000, higher than anyone in history (until Anakin, who was around 27,000. He and Palpatine were the only ones to be over 20k. Yoda was around 17k, and his was the highest of the Jedi at the time, for perspective. And these are canon numbers from Lucas' SW before Disney btw, so no, Disney didn't have anything to do with the midichlorian numbers.)
Palpatine was evil from the start. All plaguies did was give palpatine permission to act and then palpatine manupulated and killed plaguies and had planned to from the very begining. "My teacher, yes and for that i will be eternally grateful but my master ? Never."- palpatine to plaguies
He created Sidious, if Palpatine was never found he would just be an corrupt politician or not interfere at all with any conflict, Plagueis took Palpatine and molded his evil
@@Eric6761 Palpatine would've probably been a corrupt politician who benefitted plagueis either way. My point is that plaguies didn't make him evil he just just Palpatine the tools to unleash his evil
5:22 and THAT is exactly why Jeremy Allen White should play young Palpatine...he's slimripped enough to make that believable. Plus the mouse can make the money off his muscles. HoHo.
Did Mace Windu deflecting the lightning disfigure Palpatine or was he already disfigured and was simply hiding it through some sort of dark side magic?

The Dark Side is what you grab on to when you are in a desperate and stuck spot.
I mean, I grew up in northern Indiana, with lake-effect winds that lowered the temperature to that rivaling the surface of Mars, so... I get it, lol.
"Sidious" could be such an epic and dark movie
This training is like David Goggins but on steroids
Clever of Plageuis... Teaching Sideous by MAKING him HATE his teacher. So that he'd LEARN an teach him to be vicious an hateful an all about pain, what it is, an then how to use it.. perhaps even to make Palpatine regret what he'd done an suffer for it too a bit
Regret and guilt are useless to the sith.Idk where you pulling that from, didnt you watch the video ???
It's part of what the Sith do
I recently watched Alcolyte it was good! I wish later we get to see more of Darth Plagueis! Obviously behined the scenes.
Crack kills !
We need a Darth Bane movie. So many Sith stories to choose from. Where’s the Sith series films? Cmon! Was there a skywalkeresque Sith “savior”? The Sith are so intriguing and fascinating.
Tarkin went through similar kinds of hunts, and was scarred all over by them.
Theres just something about Darth Sidious that makes him better than any other Sith before, or after him. Not even Emperor Vishiat compares in my eyes. Sidious IS the Sith.
more discussion videos would be nice
2:50 why did tom hiddlestone suddenly appear lmao
14:24 He also brought Vader on Korriban, that was epic
Darth Baggins 3:00
Darth Sidious the Cruel - extremelly well put. This should be Sidious´ title because he more than anyone earned it.
They need to make this a movie
What has he done that makes him the most powerful sith that's ever lived.
Cal Kestis becomes Darth Sidious.
1:46 i crushed that sub
I want the guy who played Young Snow in Hunger Games to do a Young Palpatine movie
I would love a movie or set of movies that covered palpatine origins
He was born on a Republic world so how were the Jedi not aware of his force abilities at a young age
At 4:58, does any one else think that looks Matt Smith, and if so, why is he there?
5:22 and THAT is exactly why Jeremy Allen White should play young Palpatine...he's slimripped enough to make that believable. Plus the mouse can make the money off his muscles. HoHo.
That makes sense he put darth Vader thru similar training
Now I understand why
Did Mace Windu deflecting the lightning disfigure Palpatine or was he already disfigured and was simply hiding it through some sort of dark side magic?
Nice, thx!
Just truly dark intentions....and the way he was raised
What I wouldn't give to grab all the resurrected spirits of Baninite Sith and just put them all into one room to see what happens.
where is the archivist? is he safe?
have you seen plaguies episode 1?
🔥🔥🔥
I really was curious about this
Bro, you ever thought about putting these on Spotify?
Pain builds strength and character .
Plageuse too wise for my dumb ahh 😭
1:46 I fulfilled my destiny years ago. 😈
I'm still pissed off we didn't get plagius in the sequels.
Same 😢
Acolyte though.
@@davemccrudden1999
No. Trash.
9:20 you left out the training where Palpatine had to run while balancing an egg on a spoon. The convex side of the spoon, not the concave.
most powerful - pile of ancient sith ghosts rofling :D
Benis torture
When’s the next compilation man? 😂
I always say, Sidious looks a lot like Geroge Soros, though no withered mummy make up needed for him.
Plaguies for the win!
low gravity world called buoyant is kinda funny to me lol
Thanks for the video x.
