A QUICK LOOK THROUGH THE YEARS OF COVENTRY CITY'S RISE FROM DIVISION THREE INTO THE TOP FLIGHT OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL.WITH FOOTAGE AND PHOTO'S.JIMMY HILL TO NOEL CANTWELL.
this really takes me back. i was a young football fanatic kid at the time and what a time it was for coventry in general not only for the sky blues. i remember most of the players names to this day. i was actually at the huddersfield game. one of our schoolteachers took 3 or 4 of us up to huddersfield and i remember standing behind one of the goals. i remember the pitch was about chest high. we just missed promotion to div 1 by a single point that season but soon made up for it. graet nostalgic memories. thanks so much for uploading
Fantastic footage. That Huddersfield game was the first match I attended. Fantastic to see things like the Ronnie Rees dribble (amazing that the MOTD cameras were there) for Bobby Gould to score against Preston (?), the photo of the all Scottish 5 man forward line and the fantastic Ian Gibson in action
