I stayed at that site last November for the Kendal Mountain Festival. Paid my money at the bar (which was open) when I arrived. They didn't want my registration number or any information, which I thought was a bit weird. If I go again, I'll have a rolling pin handy!!

I had 2 westies in Scotland, and 1 here in the USA, Woody reminds me so much of my last fur baby Kyle, he was the the most amazing dog, so much fun, l know you have another dog now. l Miss my Kyle so much. 🐶
I remember last year my first night staying in my van on the clee hill,Shropshire there was a car pulled round the back of the van then drove off 5 mins later then I heard some metal tapping on the van I thought they'd dropped someone off to do something dodgy 🙆♂️so got out of bed in me boxers an went outside to confront them only to find it was the wind blowing the little chimney cap🤣🤣and it was frosty too lol,so regardless you gota be safe n challenge it😉great vid as always 💯
it gets ya like that don’t it ya start to listen for any strange sound mad thing is we have cameras out side but the internet was awful might have. wen with the building site next door but they where not working so we have now invested in a better wifi system xx

I have visited the silver mountain takeaway several times but there is also another one further down the street called Beijing house that also does deliveries. I would also recommend you visit a friend of mines restaurant called Finkles. They do excellent home-made food and a very unique afternoon tea. Oh and don’t forget about the Kendal Castle! If you are both ever in the lake district again, I hope you can check out my hotel in Windermere. It is dog friendly.

Hi Lisa, it really infuriated us after we parked up close to you at Kendal cricket club at 11.30pm on the friday. We ran straight away to wetherspoons for a few whiskies. When we returned back to the van around 12.30am . As we were opening the van with our kebab. We heard somebody shouting from across the car park. " Hello, hello can we talk" We decided to just jump into the van because he sounded drunk he then persisted to knock on the van and and asked whether we could open the van to talk. After several minutes we then decided the best way to get rid of him was to open the door. He then started a conversation. Stating that he played cricket and his dad was the chairman of the Kendal Cricket Club. He said he liked the campervans using the car park and the club but then asked "do you mind if I ask you have you paid, It only a tenner" To which Mandy replied that we have only just got back to van and that we only parked up at 11.30pm. He then got very offensive with us and said I did not ask what time you got here I just asked if you had paid. I then decided enough was enough and told him politely to leave . He was very drunk. We have been using this car park in Kendal for a few years without any issues . It really upset Mandy and she struggled to sleep after that just incase he came back. In the morning we decided to go straight away. We are sorry Lisa and Mark for not hanging about not after that. See you soon. Paul and Mandy xxxxxx

We went in the Bridge pub a few years ago in Kendal & it was a lovely place with a big wood fire. Such a shame it closed. Stopped at KCC many times & always found it good so a shame you had your night spoilt. Pub opposite with the fire pit/tables is great too.

We are reasonably new subscribers but have been enjoying your videos. Laugh at Mark always wanting his fish and chips! Your fish and chips over there look so good especially the chips. Don't worry, didn't get on with my oul lad, mum died when I was 17 in 1982, in are home town of Belfast, only me and him left in the house, treated me like crap, 6mts later he took me to Manchester and re married, luckily my brother and his wife lived ther and I lived with them, tons more to it over the years how I ended up in a seaside village in the middle of nowhere in Scotland on my own in my 50s, but that's for another day, 25+ years in Manchester and this old puff still has his thick Belfast accent pmsl xx

I love Martin and Sharon's channel. Ive got loads of ways to cook in an air fryer from them. His son Gary also has a channel called Project man and he was the same model van as Viv and Ive already learned how to do basic maintainence on her from watching him.. Speaking of "the knock" me and mum were once parked up on Forton services for the night on our way up to scotland and a bloke knocked on with a story about how he'd run out of fuel in his car and could be give him a tenner to put some in to get him up to Tebay where his mum was gonna meet him with some money. we didnt give him any cos when ya know, ya know. a week later we were on our way back and again stopped on forton but the other side and blow me down if the same lad didnt knock on our van with exactly the same story. I just laughed amd said "you're just soo having s**t luck matey...twice in one week..... I think he realised then he'd tried it on with us already. Tell you what, Its a while since I've been to Kendal but shocking how that pub was left. yayyyyyyy Mark found his chineese.pity it was too far away. great video as usual. In 1978 I went camping with a mate at Barmouth. We camped on the hill at the other side of the wooden railway bridge. As we were going to the pub an elderly lady with two dogs asked if we were camping and we said 'no' and she said 'So if I find a tent up there I can set it on fire?' We admitted we were camping and she changed us two pounds. That would have got you six pints of beer then so about twenty four pounds in today's money. We walked over the railway bridge to the town and went into a pub. We got chatting to the landlord and told him about how we had been caught and had to pay. He said 'Oh she does that all the time. She doesn't own that land or any land!'

I regularly watch you tube camper van tourers going around Britain and this seems to be coming a major issue in general with camper van people staying overnight in places where they are woken up in the middle of the night by locals..dont be intimidated stand your ground and if there's trouble call the police

Don't worry, didn't get on with my oul lad, mum died when I was 17 in 1982, in are home town of Belfast, only me and him left in the house, treated me like crap, 6mts later he took me to Manchester and re married, luckily my brother and his wife lived ther and I lived with them, tons more to it over the years how I ended up in a seaside village in the middle of nowhere in Scotland on my own in my 50s, but that's for another day, 25+ years in Manchester and this old puff still has his thick Belfast accent pmsl xx

Was with my other half 25years, still friends with him, been here on my own 11years 😱 if you had said to me in 11 years time you will be in a rural seaside bungalow on your own in Scotland, ide of said you are deluded, but you know what, I love it, only my own pots to wash 😂😂 xx

One of the famous characters of the town was called Frankie Cunningham, there is a book written about him called, Frankie The Alternative Mayor, I remember him well as a child and he was a real character indeed, he often gave money to people for their children a really nice guy and drunk most of the time..

I love Martin and Sharon's channel. Ive got loads of ways to cook in an air fryer from them. His son Gary also has a channel called Project man and he was the same model van as Viv and Ive already learned how to do basic maintainence on her from watching him.. Speaking of "the knock" me and mum were once parked up on Forton services for the night on our way up to scotland and a bloke knocked on with a story about how he'd run out of fuel in his car and could be give him a tenner to put some in to get him up to Tebay where his mum was gonna meet him with some money. we didnt give him any cos when ya know, ya know. a week later we were on our way back and again stopped on forton but the other side and blow me down if the same lad didnt knock on our van with exactly the same story. I just laughed amd said "you're just soo having s**t luck matey...twice in one week..... I think he realised then he'd tried it on with us already. Tell you what, Its a while since I've been to Kendal but shocking how that pub was left. yayyyyyyy Mark found his chineese.pity it was too far away. great video as usual. In 1978 I went camping with a mate at Barmouth. We camped on the hill at the other side of the wooden railway bridge. As we were going to the pub an elderly lady with two dogs asked if we were camping and we said 'no' and she said 'So if I find a tent up there I can set it on fire?' We admitted we were camping and she changed us two pounds. That would have got you six pints of beer then so about twenty four pounds in today's money. We walked over the railway bridge to the town and went into a pub. We got chatting to the landlord and told him about how we had been caught and had to pay. He said 'Oh she does that all the time. She doesn't own that land or any land!'

Likely an alcoholic looking for extra beer money banging on your van causing a disturbance.. I would have phoned for police.. I regularly watch you tube camper van tourers going around Britain and this seems to be coming a major issue in general with camper van people staying overnight in places where they are woken up in the middle of the night by locals..dont be intimidated stand your ground and if there's trouble call the police
