  • My Dodge 2nd Gen has been an absolute game-changer for my business. Before I had it, I was limited in what I could haul and how much I could get done in a day, when I was only running one truck in the dumpster business. But now, I can easily haul all of my equipment and dumpsters in tandem with my newer truck, which has allowed me to take on more jobs and be more efficient.
    As a result, I've been able to boost my business by $50,000 or more, which has been a huge help in growing my company and taking it to the next level. I'm grateful for my Dodge 2nd Gen and all that it's done for me and my business. I can see why the truck has a crazy following. It's an absolute tow pig!

    I had a similar experience when I ordered a Mishimoto radiator for my 03 F250 with a 7.3. Wasn't as bad as yours, but was very beat up from shipping and obviously had been out of the box before. Fortunately it installed ok and didn't leak. I went with a $1000 Mishimoto because the available cheap radiators were all showing up leaking.

    You should see the 1990 dinosaur Ford I am driving. Over 400000 miles and I rebuilt the transmission in my living room. Runs on recycled fryer oil. As for pallets I used to haul em off, but my truck then was a 1969 Dodge truck I rigged to run on wood gas. The bad pallets kept me going for over a decade. When I ordered my radiator they also damaged it, and broke the plastic tank. Had to send that back as well. Good info about the CDL.

      400k miles!? Goals for sure. I love the idea of a multi fuel vehicle, especially for the business. I think it would draw a lot of attention locally, good marketing opportunity for sure!

      @@rollingops It seemed to get me negative attention. The cops kept bothering me but eventually I got someone from the EPA to inspect and issue me an "alternative fuel" status after some safety inspections. If you knew how many broken pallets I burned you would be amazed, and the emissions of my truck were lower than a new 1995 truck! The ashes fertilized my garden and helped me make my own soap.

    Miss my 5.9 alot. But my 6.7 is FULL of Banks upgrades. Grid heater delete, race intake horn, boost tubes, full turbo back exhaust, tuner and more. I just wanted it to breath the best it could.

    Have you considered tuning the newer truck? My 16 3500 had some weight loss and a tune and performs phenomenally. She’s definitely no slouch to pulling anything.
    Sick rollers BTW 😎.

      I've def thought about it! But not until I decommission it from business use likely. IL DOT can be really strict on post emission vehicles. For example, if I delete the DEF on the truck and get caught by DOT on a stop for it, it can cost upwards of $10k. Absolutely nutts. Another reason why I like the 2nd gen! There's nothing to worry about there because it's pre emissions.

    • @BentIronBins
      @BentIronBins Год назад +1

      When you’re commercial you have to be careful that’s what is nice about the 2nd gens. The 4th gens are better all around but the emission systems are troublesome and can leave you down and out. Having a backup is definitely the way to go.

  • @aarongoode3524

    They only question the cold air intake because I’m in the open engine bay and not in a box like yours. So it is just sucking in hot air and not cold

    You could de rate that 14k trailer to a 12k and then no cdl required. You would lose one ton of hauling capacity but you may gain more than lose

    Is this truck 4wheel drive and do you think it is necessary to have your truck be 4x4 for the dump trailer business?

    • @rollingops
      @rollingops  Год назад +1

      Yes and yes. At least one truck should be 4x4. But I'd recommend any be 4x4. Anytime I seem to be spinning tires or about to be stuck, it always seems to be the middle of nowhere. 4x4 has saved me several times in the mudd.
