- A little more in depth look and a little background on my 1957 210 project.
355ci small block
Lunati 30120917 cam (106 LSA, you want chop? know your overlap)
10.5 compression
Edelbrock Performer heads
Tunnel Ram with 650 Holleys
Fenderwell headers and custom 3" exhaust (3" though isnt necessary gives you that depth and that pop, when you cant run 13:1 compression)
Pipes to turndowns WAY before the axle.
A little background on the 57. I hate talking to the camera and I suck at it, I forgot to say so much stuff! If I forgot anything you want to know about, please ask, I try to answer all your guys questions. And again, thanks to all that watch and subscribe, it means a lot to me. Im not the greatest at this youtube thing but I'll get better, and I have a lot of cool ideas for future videos. I know every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a "garage" channel but Ive got some different and random stuff coming that hopefully you guys will find interesting.
I had this same car in the early 80s and sold it in 1986! it went to northern IL from southern WI and from there I don't know where it ended up...
@@1castoffSeriously? Any pics? I bought it from Minnesota.
Great car and good work getting it on the road!
Sweet car. Reminds me of the 70s Popular Hot Rodding "Project X" series of articles.
Very interesting vid, sayin hey from Illinois! I’ve always wanted to go to California, looks like your livin the dream! You sure do good work, luv the bbc idea!
Sick build my dude. Love the look and style and the do it your self way. Which is the way I do it haha.
@@MannytheBoilermechanic Thanks, I appreciate it.
Great video! We got hit with flooding from Helen. Still no power, but I came to the gym for wifi. I was hoping you'd have a new video up.
Waiting on my Jerico to be built and when my life is a little normal again, I'm diving back into my El Camino!
@@misfithounds4248 Oh nice, I plan on getting into my El Camino soon too.
Keep at it. Each video you do gets better. In my opinion your doing fine.
Hey man, keep up the great work. You have a good overall vibe and style. Hope to keep seeing more from ya.
@@skippyricardo Thank you I appreciate that.
Love the tri-five Chevy's. The '57 is probably my favorite. Great video! Thanks for posting.
nice video! just brought a 71 Camaro back from the dead and loving the fun it provides. keep building!!!! peace
I'd go 400 small block keep the ram up the compression 11 or so .A set of heads 202 even Eldelbrock aluminum 202s and gear drive the noisy version . Some tall Velocity stacks and at least 5" filters on top them make a couple of the mini shift balls for nuts on top and your rollin. You will have high revving 210 that moves and is a blast to drive ,all on your low Budget theme.
Hell yeah man that's a sweet 210 I love the tri fives
Awesome car!
Great job man! Love that car just like it is!
Hey man, love the car, and love the channel. You’re doing this exactly right. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Thanks man I appreciate that.
Love the car, man. Keep up the awesome work!
The low mount alternator has been on my upgrade list, most cool.
I love the old hot rod
Awesome video! This is the kind of videos I like. Like the idea of the Big Block and blower. My 55 is originally from California. Made there, lived there then it moved to NM. Someday I hope to make a video kinda like this. I want to tell it's story like you did. Awesome car! I love it!
@@bigblockkings1031 Thanks, I appreciate the input and I hope we get to see your car someday soon.
Nice find and nice turn out, looks fun...
Got one that looks like it when you first got it, mine cane from Texas border, its been working on the barn find look for last 20 years, thinking on digging it back out, 😊
I hope this story inspires you to get out there and get that car going. So many of us have stories of stalled projects and dream cars that we just never come through on. I'm here to tell you it can be done, just need a little inspiration.

Been watching many videos, on abinge for sure,
Been collecting projects since i had a job,
Current project which was a bucklist car since I was 10ish,
Is now my chuck miller version 69 corvette sportwagon, 427, 4spd,
it was outside a dealership for 20yrs plus, I was told at the auction
Got the motor just about back together, pulled the fuel tank out, saving up for the replacement tank, now.
I could start it off a gas can, but want to do it right, for once...
You did good! Love the car! More videos on the 57!! A got 57 150 so it's inspiration. Regards from sweden
I think your car is awsome. Im definitely interested in the shifter ball, big block work, El Camino, upgrades etc.
@@jeffk6941 Thanks!
I like it a lot. Beat the snot out of it.
Nice job. 👍
Dude, the car is bitchin'. You do/did awesome work and your videos aren't bad either. Keep it up! You got a sub from me.
@@sublime929 Thanks, much appreciated.
great car, as a long time tri five owner i have to say, it may have cooling issues with those filler panels removed beside the radiator. that lets the air go around the radiator instead of through it. so, if it starts running warm, keep that in mind. looking forward to more videos.
Awesome
Real American Mags at the Good Guys Are $$$ Great Choice !! I have your BBC Rec port Tunnel Ram !! Thanks for the profile on your Ride !!
I like the way you stayed motivated to work on it. I am trying that for my 57 lately. Great car dude. What to do next? Personally i would paint or at least prime it. Personally i hate patina.
@@larylhuntington5398 Over time I will work on the body and panels and eventually prime it. I need to start collecting better chrome for it as well.
Big Block
Bro, awesome video you got it going on your car is bad ass I myself building 55/210. Keep up the good work LINEDOG out PS what’s left of fender support looks like you’re using the original radiator sport what about the lower section of the fenders below the headlights
Below the headlight im pretty sure the fenders just bolt to the bumper, id have to look again though to be sure.
@@sneakypete129 look at removing inner fenders on my 55 not running Front bumper think I’ll use the factory core support to fender with round struts back to the firewall something simple something from that time
Nice car. What did you use for a master cylinder?. I think an old louvard hood would look grreat. As for as waking up the engine...keep most of what you got add small twins and utilize the cut outs in fenders for exhaust.
@@laynelommen9460 its a late 60s vette master cylinder.
Best way to bend tube is to fill it full of sand weld The ends then when you bend it it won't buckle as easy.... That's how I do it anyway..
What's the rad out of? drop spindles in the front?
Radiator is for a 68-72 chevelle. Yes dropped spindles in front, just 1".
Trial and error is how you build a hot rod
To the question, “what should I do next?”…. I was in a similar spot with my 64 ranchero last year. 347 dyno’d 429 hp at the flywheel. Not fast enough, what should I do now? Blower that I scored as a right price impulse buy on eBay and an e85 conversion to make it run on 10:1 and….. it’s ridiculous. Your 210 needs a 6:71! Ultimate bolt on.
Amazing job! What gear ratio do you have?
@@CharleB-sabres Thank you! 4:11 gears
Come on
Leave the hood OFF!!! Very uncommon look and it looks cooler off!
