ITS TOO SLOW- THE ROAD TO 1000HP BEGINS
Coming soon, the build and installation of a twin turbo big block engine that hopefully produces at least 1000hp. Right now the car has maybe 450hp and its just not enough. I've never built a turbo engine so it will be a learning process that im sure will be ridden with mistakes and backward steps, but it will be fun and a lot will be learned. Im possibly the worst vlogger in the world so I will do my best to do a decent job documenting it but I cant make any promises HAHA. BOOSTED BIG BLOCK, LETS GO!

QUICK TEST: ELECTRIC H PIPE BLOCKOFF

H pipe vs True duals ( ruclips.net/video/u9SLthqDyBw/видео.html ) I couldn't decide which option I liked better so I did this test to see if I could have both at the push of a button. While the true dual variation isn't exactly the same due to some extra piping possibly acting as a resonator, is it close enough? I install an electric valve to open and close my H pipe and see if I can indeed hav...

Another "Old school" muffler design from the 60's are the "pinched chamber" mufflers that were basically a straight, flow-through design like a glasspack, only instead of internal padding, they pinched/crimped the outer tube around the scalloped inner tube, to create resonance chambers. Chevy used this muffler design as the side pipes on 65-74 Corvettes. They sound cool, but the original ones flowed like CRAP- Major HP killers at WOT. Classic Chambered makes these mufflers again today, but you need to match the center baffle pipe diameter to the same diameter of your man pipe in order to preserve your WOT flow... They do sound cool, but (to my ears, at least) they do not sound so much different from a glasspack that they justify the extra cost.
Summit Glasspacks.... No Brainer. The best vintage, old-school sound (matches the car's patina and "personality" perfectly.), and dirt cheap. If you want even more unrestricted WOT flow benefits, then spend the few extra bucks per muffler and go with Cherry Bombs. Summit Glasspacks use scalloped internal baffle tubes, which do create some turbulence inside the muffler, while Cherry bombs use a smooth, drilled center tube that you can match to the diameter of your main pipe, which allows them to flow better at WOT. Just my 2 cents...
I have one car with true duals and one with an H-pipe. The H-pipe sounds much more mellow and low and growly while the true duals sounds more radical and choppy. I love how they both sound, both sound much better than X-pipe in my opinion.
Great How-to. I love the results. I did a post on the HAMB a long time ago about my attempt to get that dull, brassy DOW7-magnesium appearance with aluminum wheels, using cheap rattle cans... Agree with you that it's not about "faking" magnesium wheels; it's about getting a period-correct vintage appearance, without all the cost (and risk) of running 60+ year old mag wheels (most of which are complete junk, and barely, or won't even hold air anymore)
I like H better, generally. I also think it works better when it's a "narrow" style H. The long balance tube H pipes seem like they wouldn't work as well and the gasses would stagnate between the pipes at low RPM and just bypass the H at high RPM easier.
I have 3" exhaust behind the x pipe into Magnaflo stainless turned down at the rear axle on my big block Chrysler . It sets off alarms and rattles windows , I Love It 😊
Too cool! But I don't have a big crock pot 😢😂
Love the shifter balls that you made for my car! Very cool seeing how you make them. Thank you!
@@ciscokid77 Right on man, thanks.
Love your ride!!! I have the same 3 sets of exhaust and I like to change anytime I have to work on the car. Trans. Comes out all the time clutch. Mine even sounds like yours. My 69 Camaro but I’m putting together a 57 now! But parts price’s are getting sideways!!! The cat back exhaust is a good example on the 3 rd gen is almost a must. I run dumps to watch the dust. When I move the car there is two bowling ball holes. BBC GOD loves it. Great stuff feller
I like the porters you tried
I've heard that gas starts to go bad. 😢
She just wanted some attention
@@ciscokid77 I think you're right.

Piece a cake!
Rip it ....
Sounds great.
air flow??? umm, ok😎
My uncle told me last night to get glass packs for my 64 I asked him his input and I think this just put the cherry on it to get them this video….
Excellent ❤Fantastic‼️
Jesus Built My HotRod? Maybe. RocOn.. Fav Band Of All Time.
As far as super quiet muffs vibrant ultra quiet stainless lil shortys were the quietest ive heard for such a short muffler but 3" with all that power might not yield the szme results .
Thanks for all the shootout vids i ran the thrush glasspacks for a long time loved the sound although it was NASCAR in the cab on the fwy . I bought the longest ones they make there like 3 ft long to quiet them down then i tried AP exaust glass packs with the spiral baffles and turned the baffles toward the exaust flow again 3 ft longers there quiet at low speeds but roar up at WOT .
I've came back and watched this a few times
I like them alot
I like the sound of those Dyno max rounds i was on the fence with those so i bought the Flow FX ovals . I have mine dumped on the ground simular short turn down seems like it echos off the ground and makes it louder inside at lower RPM .
Those are the same mufflers I have... Just got them a couple years ago... There's a difference between the ones that are inlet on the side and exit in the center and the ones that enter on the side and exit on the side... The ones that enter on the side and exit on the side have flow directors that make a big difference in power...
That 57 chevy sounds like watching those classics hot rod movies
Very, and I do mean VERY, Nice. 👍🤘
Turbo!
Hey buddy, been watching videos, thanks for alll the advice on mufflers cause it’s helped me. Do you have a hanger on the end of the mufflers too? I don’t see one. Do you have any issues putting the muffler on the end without a hanger to help support it? I change mufflers often so I’m looking for a way to hang exhaust and be able to change mufflers fairly quickly. I also plan on running dumps so that’s not a big deal.
@@westonbyng1314 I run a hanger to the pipe just before the muffler. Hangers are Walker Exhaust 36516. Very rigid, the mufflers do not move at all.

What brand are those turn down pipes
@@tomasmoreno3038 They are just 45 degree bends that are sawed off.
Gives me chills
What mufflers you got on that bad boy?
In these clips it has the Dynomax Ultraflow Ovals.

I like your style, follow your vision thats what i practice. Ive got an idea for my 57 when i get to it with dual quads and twin turbo, hopefully ill get to it in the next 10 years 🤣 🤣 keep up the good work!
I'd like to sort of do the same with a Procharger, disguised as an old McCullough Supercharger, but not so sure the old V belts would allow it to make much boost.
Are you still going to row thru the gears? This is going to be interesting! Running a 671 on my sbc 56 gasser. Staying tuned.....
Love seeing someone actually doing stuff instead of watching other people do stuff like myself lately. Knowing i'm a couch potato, here's my criticism: 1) gm only made forged rods in the big-block era, right? Doubt they're cast. 2) forget cherry bombs if you go turbo. They're not big enough thru diameter & would probably not handle the heat. 3) white paint isnt going to stay on headers that glow red hot in daylight when you do a 20psi pull. 4) old school looks are cool in the engine bay, but the safeties on a modern standalone EFI will probably save you money in thrown rods. Watch a lot of richard holdners old videos, and good luck! We'll be watching.
@@BigRedRocketScience I'm gonna have a carb done through CSU. I'm pretty stuck on never using EFI on this car, but I also want the tune to be right, and those guys know what they're doing. I'm pretty DIY about most stuff but the carb I'm referring to the pros on this one.
@sneakypete129 If you have to stay with carburetors, is there at least a way to control ignition that would let program a spark map against manifold pressure & rpm that also does a rev limit, over-boost ignition-cut, and air-fuel ratio out-of-range ignition-cut? I don't know if MSD has anything that fancy for a big block. Tony Angelo had something he put on the Sike Clone V6, but I doubt it used a wideband O2 input. Megasquirt could work if you dive into electronics DIY, but you'd have all the sensors & wiring of EFI minus the injectors at that point.
I like your vision but I’d put a 6-71 blower on that big block. Either way can’t wait to see the build
@@rickknabel2625 I have plans to build build a Model T after this car that I want to put a blown small block in. I was tempted though.
