OK, so im not exactly ripping, and my equipment sucks big time, but I hope you can still tell how bad ass these mufflers sound. They might be my new favorites.
I'm running true dual exhaust on my 82 Dodge d150 short bed truck with cherry bomb Vortex mufflers with turn downs just infront of the rear tires . sounds so much better then pipe out the back to the bumper. it got rid of the glass pack popping cackling sound under acceleration . did the same with Slowmaster 40 series . Your sounds awsome
I think the exhaust system looks great and it sounds great but honestly I feel any kind of muffler would sound good because of your engine. I always ran just the long tube headers and short mufflers with the dumps. Now that I'm older I Still like my exhaust loud! 😂🤣😂
Sounds great, to me it's like splitting hairs, I really like the round dynomax ultraflo and the race bullets. It would be nice if you could do a run down of the engine, size, compression, cam specs, cylinder heads, etc. And also the transmission and rear gear. Most of the guys watching this already know but for the newbies or younger guys who don't just simply putting these on a V8 doesn't mean it will sound exactly like this, The more "built" an engine is especially something with high or higher compression will always make your exhaust note sound better. The best sounding cars IMHO are the ones with higher compression.
@@sneakypete129Thanks for the specs, yes tight LSA is where it's at, also helps with low speed power. I noticed your California plate, is E85 readily available out there? Here in Indiana E85 is everywhere, obviously there is corn everywhere. Some guys around here regularly run as high as 14:1 on their hot rod, sounds amazing too. I saw some E85 yesterday for $2.87 a gallon. Right now in Brown County, 'War in the Woods' is happening, if you don't know about it, google it. Fun times!
That is one of the baddest '57 Chevy's I've seen recently. I love it! The Porter's do sound great too! I have heard a lot of good about them but haven't ran them on anything yet. I just bought a pair of Brockman Mellotone steel packs for my shoebox Ford with a stock flathead. Really excited to hear how they sound! Have you ever ran just Purple Hornies straight from the collector? I am debating on doing that with my '55 once I have the 408 Cleveland in it for longer street drives.
I left a comment on your last video where you tried the tailpipes and forgot to say that I made a plate perforated with holes inside the pipe right after the hollowed out mufflers that hold several stainless steel scouring pads. Nice sounding and I can add a couple more to quite it down if I wanted to.
Strangely the system makes the engine sound like a very small cube car. I thought this was a 265 or a 283 at best until I read its a 355... not many base notes here. Your dumped exhaust video sounded more aggressive and 'basey'. Anyway I like the car and the channel. Subbed.
Hey buddy, been watching videos, thanks for alll the advice on mufflers cause it’s helped me. Do you have a hanger on the end of the mufflers too? I don’t see one. Do you have any issues putting the muffler on the end without a hanger to help support it? I change mufflers often so I’m looking for a way to hang exhaust and be able to change mufflers fairly quickly. I also plan on running dumps so that’s not a big deal.
Hated it love the dumps but those mufflers give it a european v6 the first uphill shot ,but a vw low end grunt note when it starts coming at camera on last one Purple hornie's or flowmasters for chevy for me
@@danielsavedra4358 I think the pipe diameter plays a bigger role than the muffler to be honest. A 3" system with the oval ultraflows, or a msgnaflow produces a very nice deep rumble, and offers the best overall performance.
We had 18" Porters on the ol' '48 Plymouth Coupe...Eveyone always asked what mufflers we was runnin... and they do get better...others burn out, these burn in...🫠🎃
@@nickshores166 I think I like them both about the same, they both sound amazing, but I think the Porters have a sound that fits this particular car a little bit better. I think the overall idle sound goes to the round ultraflows though.
You can probably get away with all of that noise on a smog exempt vehicle. I don’t want to draw too much attention to all of the stuff that may be missing on my 1980.

Love everything about that car. Kudos brother.
those mufflers sound great, never heard of them. nice clean work under the car by the way.
I'm really liking the sound of those!
Never heard of them..
But boy do i like the sound...btw like dumps also. 3" spin tech,s dump at axel.
