The opening to the second movement of the Barber violin concerto is IMHO much more beautiful! I really don't understand the public's obsession with this oboe solo. It definitely does not rank that high among my own personal favorites. But Diana Doherty plays it beautifully - that's for sure.
I thought the first one was Frankfurt because I went to college with the principal flautists and she currently plays with the Frankfurt radio orchestra.
