Wow! When I was their age I'm pretty sure there was a duck stuck in my oboe, but these two sound beautiful, those high notes are perfect - and such confidence! I always hate playing Albinoni in concert as those long introductions make me nervous. They remind me of a particularly disastrous grade 6 attempt! Glad there are two more oboists in this world!

I find French horn to be a difficult instrument in the brass section as a bassoonist. The mouth piece seems pretty difficult for me to play high and low clearly, trying to have a constant air blow. I wished I could try the oboe.

Good teacher. Good oboe. Good reed. Good student. Daily practice. They are not Americans.
Notice their finger positions for their hands. Notice the finger spread required for the oboe fingerings. This is a fundamental difficulty (despite the reeds requirements) for young students. The key also makes a difference for young students with small fingers, so F and d minor are good keys for very young students. Beginning students have difficulties with the little finger for Eb and low C, which they never play, but these young people could, easily, I'd bet.
I started when I was 10, and had good hands and a concert pianist father who knew I needed many reeds. I started as his page turner at 8:years old with his 9' Concert D Steinway. Starting young on oboe is a must. Any adult starting with oboe, even as a wind doubler will be struggling forever to aspire to talent that these young artists already possess.
