ive been having dps just disapear overall dmg between logs and details is the same but dps total is wayyy lower. ive been taking that difference and adding it to my base dps from details and feel like thats the most accurate way to see my dps atm
I'm using Naowh's version of Details, and it has an interesting feature which shows the "normal" damage bar and then a transparent "buff" bar. It only applies to Ebon Might and Prescience, however, though I cannot vouch for accuracy. Blistering Scales damage is only going to the tank, and Breath of Eons, Inferno's Blessing, and Fate Mirror are only going to the other members of the group. I have no idea if any of the numbers shown are actually correct, however.
Well that would probably explain me as a blood dk being above basically every aug i've run keys with, i was about ready to be done running with them after a 3600 S2 io aug did less damage overall than me. I wish blizzard would give up this foolish thing and just let aug damage always be correctly separated rather than trying to do this two tiered bs with it not showing separated in game but showing separated on the logs.
The bug with hunter pet i dont necessarily think is that weird. when you use Ebon might, you buff your party. When the pet dies i imagine is loses that buff, until ebon might is cast again? idk if that makes sense

Are damage meters suffering from the same issue? Im no professional when it comes to these, so im curious if the damage meters show these descrepencies or if the in game display is more or less correct
It's unfortunate this is the case. If people use damage meters as a primary measure of a player (obviously thats the case), then people playing this spec are going to be excluded whenever the need rises, I've already experienced this a couple of times hence why I ask. Just wanted to make sure of the reason why.

I've been just doing what I've been doing the whole time (as Auggie) and since im old and logs are foreign to me, i basically just look at where I am compared to the rest of our class/spec to give the best insight into how I'm doing. Parse orange, even though the parses look like shit, and that tells me I must be doing something right.
The logs have limited use anyway. It's raw data, and 99.9999% of everyone using these addons haven't a clue how to process/factor the data for truly useful interpretation. I completely ignore dps/hps data in my raids, and mostly only use it to see who is/isn't performing certain mechanics--or to spy on a person who is playing a class particularly well, to get a loose idea of when they use what, etc. One of the guilds I'm in, our GM is obsessed with dps/hps numbers, and he killed a strong raid group by kicking two guys who weren't dpsing as hard as he thought they should. Unfortunately, they were spraying water and keeping us all alive and chasing soaks, so it was all rapid wipes after they were out. He's a trash GM, but I've seen many others just like him.
Ok that might sound dumb but i would like to know how do you SIM your evoker augmentation on Raidbots ? Each time i try that says '' Your spec is not supported by Raidbots and/or SimulationCraft at this time''
I have been out of the game for 6 months and Aug logs are still an issue? Isn't it simply a case of its a buff bot that makes other people pump? No different from a priest giving PI to someone else and wanting the damage done with that showing on their own logs? I don't get why it's an issue or any different from picking healer and being disappointed your dps was shocking in comparison to your team at the end of a Raid or Dungeon.
In the end we have to remember Blizzard could have made augmentation a tank and decided to go the Hard Mode route. They dug the hole, they have to get themselves out of it (of course with the coordinated help of the Wyrmrest Discord and the community).
Seems like the bottom line is that it's not really your damage, but the damage others are doing based on your buffs. I don't understand why damage others do would count as damage for you.
People need to realize that a dps who supports other pure dps can't become a solo dps powerhouse. Their main purpose is maintaining offensive buffs for other dps.
How do you even get 70% uptime? Maybe on some really high keys? because in order to extend ebon might, you need to chain-cast eruption a lot, but when the trash dies early, you won't have ebon might up for the next pull, you're gonna dry-cast eruption or fillers :( I'm at like 55% roughly and I try to work hard and focus on the buffs uptime rather than my own dps. That said dps is frightening though, i'm doing like 35-55k dps only, i'm struggling to convince myself I help more than my devastation which could do like 120k there, but then again, it's hard to get invited to random groups as devastation. It feels like i'm being carried despite all my buffs :( The worst feeling for a dps-mindset guy like me.

Your simcraft logs are with all buffs totem and everything disable all that and run the sim again as its doubtfull you have all those buffs over a 5 min period + user error
by the same logic are warriors given damage back by buffing the raid with battleshout and the extra damage caused by having extra AP taken away, same for winfury Demon Hunter 5% debuff etc etc?
It's a very hard metric to translate into what your average player understands... Try explaining to the people that only understand "beeg number, am good" that you making everyone else's life easier by giving 70% of your power to them in various ways is an amazing thing to have. Not everyone likes the support role and it's generally only appreciated in MOBAs or games that have mass pvp like Albion, GW2 or New World. People can't seem to understand that succeeding by something they don't see is still succeeding. Just because you can't always directly translate what they're doing into numbers doesn't mean they aren't doing it. Your tank is getting extra DR, the healer has less healing to do, everyone gets cooldown reductions and their numbers go up; Augmentation is doing what it was meant to do, I just wished they added this role sooner.
My guild dropped to 1 aug from 2 augs in raids, because aug damage is not that impressive, hope they fix this shit sooner we know whether its good or bad to run two augs damage wise lol
It really depends how you use your presience buffs. First raids I used autotarget presience or prio my close friends and i was at the end of the dps chart in warcraftlogs, after the first raids i checked who does a big burst on pulls and then stay on high dps classes, i went from the bottom to the top-mid and im probably in the top dps on most fight if logs would be accurate. I have other evoker who does auto presience he is always far back.
The extra information doesn't exist in game. Details tries to guess what the contribution might be. So not the same bug, but it's not accurate for a different reason.

That feels so inaccurate its laughable. Around healer overall? I can link a bunch of my own logs from keys this season playing aug and the healer does nowhere near our damage in logs. Except if by logs you mean your ingame details meter. Warcraft logs maybe broken but we never appeared close to healer damage.

This is the problem of mindset as well. The purpose of aug is to enhance and support the team, but people are constantly thinking that in order to be effective, you have to do damage (this was an issue for healers also)
I mean to be fair thats how the game is designed at least for raids. You have 20 players so you already have enough utility for modern raid design so we dont need more support. We either need damage or healing and if you don't do enough of either to push the content, we don't need you. The less players, the more important utility becomes because you have less sources to supply it which is part of why they are so much stronger in M+, you bring the utility of like 6 classes but in raid when you can just take those 6 classes instead to have all the same utility but more damage and more healing.....why wouldn't you?
Someone else just made this point to me. It completely misses the point that every other class gets correct information that they can analyze and it makes no sense to argue that it's okay that aug doesn't because "spec fantasy" or "the damage is still counted somehow". It's within Blizzard's power to fix and they should, because as things stand, a lot of misinformation was being spread about Aug that absolutely effected thousands of players.
What are you suggesting? What's your solution? Cus the only alternative that your words suggest to me is that people collectively decide to stop caring about competition or blizzard forces them to (by disabling hooks/removing DPS, so no more logs or details, no analysis, no way to tell if one player is better than the other unless one is dead). So no more damage numbers? No more knowing your contribution to a fight? This isn't endemic to just Retail either. My Classic friends post logs all the time. What should Blizzard do to solve this?
so basicly the class is working as intended and adding tons and tons of damage to a raid. but the poor sad people playing the class don't get credited for it. so they are crying like a little baby? you cleared the dungeon. it doesn't matter how much dps you did.

@@Mr91Jmay you should do some reading on how aggro works. because you. and about 99% of hardcore players don't understand aggro. they pull more than they can handle on accident. they keep fighting a mob while running away. they don't understand that healing generates aggro. that any sort of buff or dispel or whatever action on a person in combat GENERATES AGGRO.
@@attack125 aggro issued only occurs when certain specs go absolutely ham on massive aoe pulls. Aug damage being correctly transferred wouldn't be even close to causing issues.
The fact the logs remain bugged months after release feels purposeful at this point. Aug is a failure of a spec as far as game design/balance goes, obfuscating this fact with sketchy logs and leaving it as such feels like a desperate attempt to delay the inevitable truth of the matter.
If Aug discord crying about their damage won’t be recorded… in baseline level your spec is support spec this should not the thing you should cry about … hate this spec

Easiest way to tell you're pumping is to sit out for a pull and compare the difference. Its pretty huge for rogues especially.

If i go into a log and check how much dmg isnt contributed, i get to like 2-5k dps maximum, how does that make sense to say "we miss like 50k dps"

You misunderstand. The buff still applies but for the rest of the dungeon it doesn't contribute to your damage

In game damage meters don’t give ANY credit back to the evoker at all. Ever.

There are no in-game hooks for damage meters to use. The damage meters just use a flat percentage increase to try and guess what it might be.

I love auggy, but it needs more range. It is so much work to fight the encounter and your raid at the same time

I am currently playing in mm+15 with 451 ilvl and the t30 stuff
Maybe in a hight level keys
Season 2 I had 60% uptime, this season with 4 piece set bonus I'm getting 70% uptime if the run is smooth, I'm doing 18-19s right now

Regardless of mindset, you simply are not getting credit for your damage in logs like you should.

I know that they wanted devastation to get played more, so they nerfed augmentation to the point where devastation out performs it, seems legit.

The fact the logs remain bugged months after release feels purposeful at this point. Aug is a failure of a spec as far as game design/balance goes, obfuscating this fact with sketchy logs and leaving it as such feels like a desperate attempt to delay the inevitable truth of the matter.

If Aug discord crying about their damage won’t be recorded… in baseline level your spec is support spec this should not the thing you should cry about … hate this spec
