The new evoker spec is fully playable in the wow 10.1.5 ptr and it’s looking amazing! Augmentation evoker wow is an actual reality and to many of our speculations, it is indeed a support spec that can also dish out dps! WoW 10.1.5 release date cannot come any sooner but until that time, let’s check the augmentation evoker talent tree and how everything actually works!

This looks really promising. I have a feeling that they're setting this up as an experiment to make new specs for older classes.
They would never do that. Sadly it’s blizzard, cmon. Never expect great things from blizzard

A shaman tank would be amazing, being able to use the earth as a shield and stuff.

I really wanted the tank but this seems pretty cool. This also opens the door for almost everything maybe even earthen shaman tank, because this game really needs more cooler tanks and healers
Blizzard doesn't have the balls.
one day we will get a tank based on elements, covering himself in earth and lava to do damage and shield himself, freezing enemies to enfeeble them and reduce their damage etc etc. one day.

It's still very early to call but our first impression is that the spec is FANTASTIC! 100% an alt
I honestly think making a spec like this will ruin alot of comps. They have always said "bring the player not the class", well you just made a class that everyone will want in their M+ groups now as a requirement.
It will surely be a balancing nightmare and I hope am not naive in thinking that they have planned this for a long time (taking into account the implications of such a spec)
I agree with this, most classes can bring their own little buff or bonuses to a group but this seems really strong.
@@MarcelianOnline I was honestly hoping for them to get a tank spec instead of another dps. Just made more sense tbh, plus having another dps spec when there are already 11110000 seemed lame.
I think the more likely outcome is that this spec will not add enough damage to a 5 man group and be considered pretty bad for keys, but be completely mandatory batshit insane for raiding. If it turns out to be mandatory in a 5 man group, surely then every mythic raid comp is going to bring like 3+ of these which would be silly.
they must have been inspired by demo lock in wrath classic, it provides 10% of their spellpower to the entire raid, even more OP than the proposed Ebon Might haha
Gota be honest, slightly gutted we didn't get our CHONKY BOI black dragon tank!
But I'm happy that blizz are trying something different. This feels like a nightmare to balance though in terms of buffing certain specs etc.

I love the idea and considering maining it now. I wasnt playing evoker after I hit 70 but being support in raid sounds fun. I would also STIL LIKE TO SEE a
tank spec. Have 4 specs like a Druid.
My only concern is how do you not take one of these in 100% of M+?
we have previously discussed how attractive shaman spells are, but i agree with what you said about this Aug spec looking just as amazing, not only that, this is a great opportunity not only for blizzard to try something new, but also for us as players to try out a new styled spec, Evokers conception and odd ability's have been a stepping stone for this, and i am all for it, Thank you for the Update and as always great quality video!

Dont want to be a doomsayer but i believe Blizzard just opend Pandoras box in terms of balancing in the futur. But i have to admit this spec sounds amazing in gameplay and what it offers. Augmentation will either be mandatory in every group or not brought at all.
Just like back in the days when only shaman had bloodlust and shaman stacking was a thing and blizzard never even could make this one ability balanced and ended up to just give it to enough other classes so it doesnt matter anymore because almost anyone has that group buff.
Exactly my concerns too, they will need to balance for this spec, but its literally the only buff class, so will they become mandatory?
I always wondered: it is not better to create a new spec for existing classes intead of creating a new whole class from scratch?
I mean, from a new whole class you will have 2/3 new specs to balance each time, while with a single spec....well it's just one.
Why go for the hardest route when you can choose the easyest way?
I think we made 2 or 3 videos on exactly this topic. Extra specs for all classes. There is a lot to unpack here tho, still stand behind this idea tbh
If they added a new spec for every class tho that’s like 4 classes at that point
I was expecting a tank spec for Dracthyr as they have the dragon scale skin. Hopefully one day in future will be added

2- I doubt it will be balanced enough that it won’t be a must on any high lvl groups.
I feel like this could have been a tank-bard spec...why dps? also some of those talents should definitely be in the devastation tree
to be honsest i was hoping for a tank buffer spec not sure how they think a 1 lower dpser buffing the 2 other dps to pull his weight will realy make its way to m+ :O but ill be on the test realms for sure

Ranged DH would be interesting. Mix between a spellcaster and hunter? So they're on the move and blasting shit/throwing glaives
I know I’m in the minority on this but the “black flight” spec being a “support” spec feels really weird and doesn’t make any sense to me. Even weirder it’s a “dps support” so it’s going to be a brand new support “role” that sits forever in dps queues for dungeons and lfr, and possibly being a meta requirement in m+. Feels like it would have made more sense to do the same philosophy but be a tank instead that boosts allies while holding off enemies. Tank aligns more with everything I know about the flight of the Earth Aspect. When you think of every black dragon in WoW lore, the “Guy who boosted his allies to be more powerful” was never what comes to mind.
Well, to be fair, you also told us Prot Pally would be B-tier for DF. :D

You forgot to check the passives. When not in a raid your breath and ebon might is increased in strength by 40% so your 1400 main stat is because of the 40% boost instead of 1k.
Reminds me of leveling the Bard in Suikoden III to easy mode boss fights
So nothing like the chanter from Aion. Now that would be brilliant they are an amazing class/spec to help with awesome buffs for all whilst doing melee damage. Nothing better than beating up an npc with a staff whilst having buffs that help the group/raid.
Was really hoping for tank spec but a "bard" spec is awesome as well. I will be gearing up my evoker now so it'll be ready when 10.1.5 hits. Do you happen to know the stat layout?
Nope, do not like. Nope.
When I read it, I thought it was great. When I played it on the PTR? It's like they took spells away from the other two specializations before the expansion started and put them aside for this one. Even if they manage to balance it out and make it work.. the augmentation evoker will only be as good as the rest of the group... and that new breath of eons sounds sick.. but I didn't fall for those flying abilities even with the first two specializations. so we'll see.

This is the perfect spec for me. Always wanted to play a bard like class and it just so happens that I main evoker. Damage Evokers are gonna be wanted now.

I really wanted to play evoker, but healer didnt work for my pc, and devastation is just not it for me. Seeing augmentation I'm so hyped for this new spec and literally can't wait for 10.1.5 to release

Blizzard should remove hero classes and incorporate them into existing ones. This feels pretty weird. Its like an omunculus between mage + druid + shaman. Otherwise we have Shadow priests, Survival hunters and affliction locks without clear way or path

I still feel like the concept could have worked as a tank (I know they said evoker wouldn't get a tank). Tanking damage and buffing the homies would have been cool

Does make me wonder which speccs for other classes will follow this path, if this is done successfully. Enhancement shaman, is an obvious one. That is, if Augmentation is a success and doesn't get converted into a pure dps specc in a patch or new expansion.
well there goes class tuning forever. I dont like this honestly. it will either be so strong that every m+ needs one, or so shit that no one will play with them. Imo, they should have made it a tank with no party enhancement. The fantasy of black dragon tank can go far. That wouldve been much cooler. Blizzard is making tuning impossible for themselves with this. I hope i am wrong
If a priest PIs you(Aug evoker) than you recast ebon will it buff the 4 Friendly's even more? Same with trinkets and lust. Will it be multiplicable?
This is dope but this will killed mythic plus watch. At first not many will play it because they will need to learn it but once people learn the spec this will be required to have a take one spot in mythic plus watch 😊
Support type is much promising than Tank, why ppl want that slender Dracthyr for tanking too much
I landed on shaman for this patch. Always had a soft spot for enh and visuals/sound effects are the best in the game… buuuuut I still can’t stop playing my evoker and now it’ll be impossible! Those ground effects are insane!!

I'm all for new stuff. But this feels like a balancing nightmare. Will groups "need" to take one of these in every high key they do? If so, are there really going to be that many of them? Evoker isn't exactly a highly-played class. I'm trying to be optimistic, but idk.

Incredible... my mains are getting better each day. First it was my paladin, got reworked and now I enjoy playing it a lot! Now (soon) the 3rd spec on Evokers (my second char, was equal as my main in 10.0) so I will want to play this as well! Hard too choose what to play when the 3rd spec arrives! Which is a good thing!
If Blizzard would rework every class to make the fun to play and with new mechanics added and more play style changes (less buttons or more), the game would be much more attractive for a lot of players.
P.S.: The 3rd spec seems to have the defensive capabilities that the others don't have? I hope they would do something about the defensive of the evokers, the class feels like a cloth class.

I don't see this being popular. It might be good and the buffs might be strong enough to mean the difference between a kill and wipe, but it's going to be a hard sell for to tell any player that you'll be at the bottom of the meters, even if you are making everyone better and are a lynchpin of a group. It's going to take a certain kind of player that will be ok with being just a buff bot. Currently devastation is a powerhouse, so the buffs + damage augmentation brings have to be stronger than devastation alone or then why would you take it over dev.
We need some mail wearing tanks
This looks amazing but I can 100% see all the sweats ruining the fun. I would've liked this to be a healer though and just doing the expected "healer dps" through these buffs. This would help make healer dps still feel like the healing gameplay loop.
Wait they made a 3rd spec for Evoker and it's not a Tank. Wow, that is disappointing another dps role for them then.
It's gonna need some numbers tuning before I think about playing this over devo, the reliance on cast time spells goes against my idea of fun
Definitely really cool! But all I can see is a class/spec that just got placed into a mandatory spot. Not great for what they have been going for in terms of spreading utility to other classes so not one class is mandatory.
I'm so glad it's a dps spec. I was hoping for tank but I'm' happy with this. I'm also glad it's not a disc type support healer. As far as damage.... I'm thinking in 5man's they should probably do near equal damage to other dps, but in raids probably just amp a group of 5.

Preheat said alot of good and bad about it. What he dont like is the grounding of casting spells and he wants blizz to show the missing dmg being shared.

Hello, Can you let us know which stats you need to prioritize with the new spec to see if the devastation stats match up with the stats of this new spec. Because if they match, I know that many will change from devastation to the new spec and since the stats match, everything will be amazing....
I would be willing to bet that they'll stack mastery as their mastery is a vers buff that they apply to allies
Honestly I'm not impressed, if they added a tank spec or a melee spec then I'd be hyped/impressed but just another ranged dps spec that just looks like a aoe version of dev.

Just when i thought i found a good time to leave wow (just not a lot of time due to college, and burnout) THEY PULL ME RIGHT BACK IN literally my favorite archetype of class, buff allies style dps is so much fun!

It’s really weird. I just don’t really see anyone playing this support spec. It’s already hard enough to get heals and tanks for certain content. I hope it’s cool but I just don’t see much people wanting to drop dps to support. Not sure what the support fantasy is
This spec is for me! I’ve been waiting forever for WoW to bring in a FF14 bard / dancer equivalent

It’ll be sad to see the mythic plus try hards act like they’re a must have in the group. We been doing mythic plus for years without them, didn’t need them then, don’t need them now. Will just be nice to have the extra stuff. But try hards won’t remember that

awesome video, I was so hopeing in wow we would get an support class, im bit hyped but hope it will be the worst sepc in the game in overall dmg but buffes all other dps in the group to make up for it, so its not nessasery to always bring an evoker. to be hones I always hoped that disc priest would be the heal/support
Thats the problem with dragonflight. If you aren't playing the op specs you don't get invites in pve and since there is no pvp that either

I can see a situation where blizzard nerfs a class thats overperforming because their spec utilizes the buffed stats better than other classes, and then you just have a above average spec which is only the case when recieving buffs but a bottom of the pack spec without them. Balance is going to be a nightmare, but i guess we will see what happens when it is live.
I seriously doubt that's going to be the case, they are barely nerfing classes now cuz of trinkets, let alone the powers gained from another class
@MarcelianOnline we'll just have to wait for the numbers to really know for sure. But for like a spec like destro which really likes primary Stat increase I'd expect them to benefit more than maybe some other classes. But like you said depending on how the numbers turn out then there won't be many issues. I feel like they have been doing a pretty good job with constantly balancing specs so maybe there will be no issues at all.

Lotro captain(support class)main here. The augmentation evoker In essence does not do as much damage like a normal DPS spec/class but makes it up by buffing the groups DPS.
Lol there’s going to be 2-3 aug evokes in every raid and they’re going to be funneled gear.
Demon hunters cant even customize their demon form but they give evoker a whole new spec? 😅
Demon Hunters stole the Metamorphosis and the demon form from Warlocks, so they should not draw attention to it

But Ebon Might is the same thing as a class buff but without 60minute permanent effect? So it’s like a worse buff
