War Within Frost DK has been through some major rides and even after the nerfs, the spec is doing great but most importantly, its gameplay is banging! With the introduction of some new talents on top of the frost dk hero talents, we can clearly see a big improvement in feel and rotation. Let’s see exactly how good is!

I wish Frost and Unholy would use the same stats so we could switch between them without having to recraft gear and gems
They both kinda do now.... [crit/mastery] haste got devalued compared to crit for frost by quite a bit with the updated talents. (all of this is of course speaking about M+) Raid ST does rely a bit on haste for UH (frost as well but to a lesser degree)
Wow really ? I stopped playing in legion. And in legion you could just swap spec and armor would adjust. It’s not the case ?

@@Pentax67 All DKs use str. What we're referring to is the secondaries (crit, haste, mastery, vers).
@@Pentax67they only switch the main stat....like from AGI to int.
It feels so good now after the changes. AOE is insane in the prepatch
for few days, they are gonna nerf it today/tomorrow so enjoy it. Im Frost DK main and i dont like these changes. everyone now plays the class because of that huge buff. Trash move from blizzard
@@Mattesos they are amazing during prepatch but they aren't as busted in the beta with everyone having their hero trees and no matter what class gets the tap to be meta for a season or two everyone jumps to whatever that class is. That doesn't mean they are gonna play at the same skill level as someone that's mained it for years.
@@Mattesosfeel like you’re dooming, I just looked at the patch notes and honestly the changes will make things a bit even cause right now frost is blasting ahead of other specs by quite a lot, it’s still going to be a top spec even with these nerfs
I literally thought howling blast got a huge nerf making it not as good?
@@braydonschwartz5250 howling blast is pretty low on our overall damage for a fight or dungeon run that it doesn’t matter, all our damage is from obliterate and IBT and obliterate is being buffed a bit and the nerf to IBT is simply gonna make it not out damage obliterate a little bit
Set my Frosty up last, was absolutely bonkers blasting the meters. Two hand Obliteration lived up to the hype!

Before this weeks reset, they were insanely strong. I was pulling damage that I couldn’t as unholy. The rework felt great and will finally play all 3 specs instead of Blood and Unholy

I been messing with dual wield Obliteration on Bicep’s recommendation and it’s been amazing!!
Once we have the stats to support it (definitely not S1, maybe late s2, early s3) the 100% proc chance on crit that 2h gets on those auto attack procs *MAY* see it pass DW. But early on, DW is looking much stronger just due to the frequency of attacks hedging the bets with lower crit rates.
I want to use my 2H with my Frost DK....hope it works
I'll still use 2h no matter what. Play how u like, thats the purpose of games
Tbh I’m glad I can play duel wield frost finally without having to run breath. Honestly sick and tired of 2hand dk. I missed playing a plate wearer with two 1 handers

i've seen conflicting things all over the place. some places say 2h is better some said dw is better. Right now its probably based on whichever weapons you have higher ilvl but it would be nice to know what is optimal at the moment for pushing content in s1

I so much wanted to play this for a main. Bein a bad ass DPS and having a fun tank spec - yes please..but alas the guild needs a healer and monk buff - so I'm learning MW Monk and will Brm it in M+

Icy Death Torrent has a set ppm - dual wield will not get you more procs. Just use a 2 hander for Obliteration and dual wield for Breath (as always)
I played frost DK in legion (unholy too) , running mythic +26 keys most of the time . Frostcythe was the top performer attack for adds/trash. Is it relevant since then ? It was so strong in Legion.
I think they should make Breath a bit lower cooldown, have a set duration, and have it consume your current amount of runic power to do more damage. Maybe have it regen half of the runic power you spend over its duration. Kind of like how bonestorm for blood works

I mean maybe it’s just me but I really don’t like auto attack related mechanics mostly, as soon as auto attacks are doing my damage I feel like it’s not me doing it, I guess that’s why I’m a caster main
How much of that auto attack DMG makes of total DMG done tho
Two warlock specs currently have their top damage coming from passive "abilities." BM Hunter all passive pet damage. Fire Mage all passive ignite spread. Spriest all aoe is done passively. Just saying, most specs are based on passive damage nowadays. The specs have been dumbed down and encounter mechanics have been ramped up.

As much as I like the new frost DK, really wish they would have reworked the way crit scaling works. Frost still suffers from jank crit scaling due to auto crits. Despite the new auto attack crit line being powerful, it is very passive and doesn't really feel fun imo. I wish they would have reworked bonegrinder to give an auto attack crit mod that stacks until you crit and resets, or to give crit an additional effect for Frost DK (maybe a portion of your crit chance is added to obliterate as additional frost damage). It would help a lot with the janky crit scaling.

Frostwyrms fury needs a buff, prob just me but frostwyrms fury feels such a weak let down talent, back in legion it was a monster, but right now for tww pre patch and for when tww releases, frostwyrms fury feels like a waste talent but a must pick so we can choose the choise nodes we need, frostwyrms fury does too little dmg for a 3 minute cd, doesnt aline with cds either, only time frostwyrm can be worth it (barely tho) is getting absolute zero, but thats a talent node loss which isnt worth it either, and frostwyrm doesnt do much else besides that, even riders of apocalypse making it a more worth picking, still feels like a let down, ur only getting it cuz of the passive buff it will give for using it, frostwyrms fury needs a buff. And for single target… pls dont ever use it for single target lol does same or less than an oblit killing machine or 5 stacks frost strike
Frost DK was hard to play perfectly prior. The rotation was not straight forward and most players didn’t use their CD’s correctly. Now it looks to be very streamlined, playing more like Fury warrior, which is honestly how it played historically.
Is 2-handed frost a huge dps loss? I much prefer 2-handed over dual wielding

Breath of Sindragosa is the reason why I didn’t like Frost. I LOVE how frost is right now.
Class is DOA as long as Cleaving Strikes is the way to cleave.

We MAYBE will be able to do something with a breath 2h/obliteration build w/ arctic assault (the glacial advance after obliterate km procs). If blizzard fixed arctic assault to be a razorice stacker we can drop avalanch and not have to run glacial advance as a baseline to force razorice stacks and we can spec into breath, obliteration and arctic assault. We would still have forced downtime but it wouldnt feel as bad since we are able send glacial advances everytime we km/obliterate in aoe. We can leverage horn of winter, high crit with might of the frozen waste for km auto attack procs. high attack speed through our talents etc. In between we can send frost strikes and keep up on remorsless winter , rime/howling blast. so it wouldnt feel as bad in between cooldowns. It may be viable to do in higher, more organized keys. @marcelianonline

Legion Frost DK was the best once you had the legendary ring and keep breath up for 2 mins was badass

I feel like im messing up on rotation. We do need to use dnd alot more now? And if i have 2 KM procs and full runic power do i still dump km procs even being capped
drop down DND and obliterate during pillar for sure, on single target weave in the frost strike, depending on build forst strike deals huge dmg now
Death Knight is fun more than it has been in a long time, stil has allot of rom for improvements, like giving us a raid buff that increase the crit chance and crit damage done.
What currently holds back Death Knight right now are some bad talents in the talent tree or some being just gimmicky like Unholy Aura, this one could be replaced for a passive that lets us raise skeletons when wounds are bursted, it would have good synergi with ruptured viscera, i hope blizzard will add this in.
can confidently say that none of those changes will happen.
We should get the monk buff that gives increased healing received as like "blood aura" or something
i really like frost dk atm. doing 2h ob. build seems fine, at least its a bit more simple.. im not sure i like the explode the stacks etc.

I feel like breath is a lot of fun, its not fun when 1 stun, 1 knockback, 1 immune/RP event makes it become a wasted CD
Not gonna lie. I was excited to come back and play frost dk for the war within... After this video though I don't think I will. I loved the 2h oblit build. Just go in and smack huge crit. It was simple and satisfying.
2h is still here you go down the two left capstones, the dw stuff is just new and gives you an alternative from Breath.
Frost 2h is still viable been testing it in beta. I do equal dmg in +7 keys in beta

:-( LOved my 2h DK. However, the playstyle ist fun anyways. Played Frost DK in m+ throughout most of the last expansions and I'm glad, that it finally performs good. Just totally hate the DnD cleave.
Well since one weapon is easier to get than two, guess I'll still go with unholy, despite rn unholy feels...unsatisfying? to say the least? Mobs die quite slower since rotation changed into a smooth curve alongside with multiple nerfs. Still I can't drop my worgen dk, he's been with me since cata!

Yes and no.
Those nerfs today / tomorrow on EU just bring the classes to their Beta level. And the balancing now is done with Hero Talents in mind so the balance right now doesn't matter at all.
Unfortunately, Breath is still the best for Raid and We don't get the chance to play the best thing ever added to Dk via Rider because Deathbringer is already better and they are planning to make it EVEN better in 11.0.5 XDDDD, Man when can we be free from Breath of Sindragosa prison ? delete that abomination of a button :(

No, it’s not. It’s really in very bad shape. Static, clunky cleave, too many GCD cooldowns, it sucks. And I've been playing DK for 14 years. Look at a freshly leveled Fury Warrior at 80, bursting 2-3 million DPS in a heroic dungeon. Are you getting paid to talk such nonsense? I don’t understand why everybody says DK is in good shape.

They should make killing machine procs reduce BoS cd by 3 seconds or 4 but reduce dmg by like 15% because then itll prob be OP and the go to build and the dw or 2h build will be no more
