season two tanking with an augment was one of the more fun times to be a tank. For good or bad I loved aug being added but that is just from my personal experience.
i love aug even now . Such a fun class / spec to play .
And i hope there will be more supporters and a new role :)

Ideally I thought that the new "support" role was perfect for the dps only specs to get that ability to do more than just dps. I think Blizzard is slow rolling it and experimenting with season of discovery on other classes that can be other roles. It was a mistake to only release this new role and have only one option, similar to in vanilla and Horde was the only one with Bloodlust.
This, everyone else seems to just want this gone, I'd rather they keep trying the support dps role on more classes!
@@carril54i like idea feel like aug was faluire but feel if add new class in future i think can't do what did with aug add mid point feel in way thats what killed it. add new class with 3 specs 2 support focus one healer that also focus buffs so instead on down time damaging people focus on buffing others. dps support focus on off healing ALL IN BUFF not werid hybrid that evoker was. tank spec that range tank spec which actually surpirse not tried could spell caster tank in retail

They need to make a new 4. role= Support and bring out some more support specs. Then its fine! Just make them nice and not so op :)

I mean it being simple and relaxing compared to other dps is why i play it lol. ya there are times i wish i could play devi sometimes but for those days where i just want to be relaxed its very nice. I'm glad they're at a good point as they can be. time warden stuff makes me nervous about it being op again tho.
I think that opening up the video talking about how problematic Augmenation is, only to highlight how "Even now their power level isn't as big as a few months ago" proves that with simple balancing they can change the perspective and narrative about how augmentation feels. Using the data that you're referencing, previous seasons have skewed representation in EVERY role. The problem was everywhere. You could argue that's because of augmenation, but that would only result in classes getting buffed over the following weeks (or nerfs to aug itself).
The articulation of support has always been "if you add up the damage they bring, its really good." Aug just shows the damage it does. However the problem that aug has is that it has too much control over whom it buffs. Aug is still played in higher keys because they all know that its buffs are invaluable to a group that knows what they are doing. i would argue most people have no idea how to play with augmentation evokers, but when you do its obvious that you can abuse their power.
all aug does it make the highest keys smoother. 20s, 25s its not needed at all. As a healer though, in S2 having an aug did make runs more fun, to the point I only did runs with an aug just to push my own numbers.
At this point, they just need more support specs and just make the new meta include a support. That, or make aug a tank. Otherwise, it will either be mandatory or irrelevant in m+.
I'll give you that aug doesn't take a ton of skill to perform it's rotation but I wouldn't say it doesn't have a massive skill ceiling. The amount of work it takes in raid to be playing the classes well is crazy. From tracking at least 8 peoples active cooldowns and cycling your buffs on some one different at almost all times to make sure you are not just buffing someone that is basically in their auto attack phase of game play takes so much effort. There is a reason in the top .1% guilds they can be the best spec in the game but in top 1% to 10% guilds they are only just middle of the road to being completely pointless in the top 50% does mean they have a massive ceiling.
Isn’t that more a case of guild organisation rather than putting all the responsibility on evoker to track all that?

i can assume the non AUG players are only bothered by his personal DPS not the utility he provides, lets be honest, wow players are all horny for numbers and they only judge you by that, you can die 50 times in a raid, but hey as long as you do your burst good, you are forgiven, but an AUG gets kicked for low dps despite playing the bosses perfect and didnt die.
AUG is only as good as the guys he tries to support. So jeah you are not stuck with an bad AUG in your party, he is stuck with people that cant make full use of his buffs.
I normaly ignore the outburst over the class and ignore the dmg whores. And i spend my energy on the people that invite me in M+ and even say "nice we have a AUG"
I don't think the spec is a failure, and overall "we have enough tanks and melees, stop asking for more of those idiots" support is just not for everyone, its for the people that love to well "support" and want to help. And support dps gives you just that if you are not into healing. I mean sry thats the idea, he compensates his own in compare lower dps by making everyone else stronger.

If we could improve AUG: maybe more options to increase his personal dps, an additional charge for his buff, and increase the scaling on his buffs. Just important to not make him TOO STRONG otherwise he will be mandatory in every single group.

AUG is one of the more interesting specs in the game for me, i enjoy it a lot.
Dragon bard is fine. It just makes top% players try to find a gimmick which they then force their peers to play since they are the creators of their own meta prison.
Aug was fun in s2. I pushed to 25, 26s. Took about 6 weeks off for the start of s3. Coming back Aug is not nearly as powerful. Yes, I use omni to watch my partied CDs. I stopped playing Aug. I stopped inviting Augs to my keys. I only pug, and it's too much of a gamble that 2/3 dps spots can synergies together. I just invite 3 dps classes.

@@mitcho590 The plz let me know what nerfs you mean? Logs are broken for aug,hooks are broken and you can't tell augs are good or ,,nerfed" ... Even WRF guilds had always 2 augs in raid, all top guilds got 2 in raid. Max told once that they tested raid w/o augs and wit augs.... It eas a lot faster with 2 augs... If some classes geting nerfs that doesn't mean they suck....
They need to convert it to a tank spec and get rid of buff specs idea
like idea buff spec feel evoker werid hybrid try be buff spec but not. think if do other support go ALL IN on buff class fansty maybe bit off healing add 1 or 2 spell does damage. yes mean have 1 less dps but maybe just maybe makes buff op AS HEll make up for fact that losing 1 dps slot cause knowing blizzard not add new role
Augmentation should have been a tank
They need to create more suppprt specs but make groups 6 man. That 6th spot for the support spec
DPS? What DPS? 🤣🤣🤣 I really pushed high keys with my augvoker this season before falling off the meta. Back to my tank I realised that Aug brings nothing worthwhile to my tank experience and every time someone invites one I just roll my eyes and puff my disappointment.
All the keys I’ve done with one went all bust.😅
Have you ever thought that the team was just bad? As evoker I saved my brain dead mates countless times. To this day people stand in the fucking fire and don't do affixes, which I must do instead of them

You can't shoehorn in a brand psuedo brand new "roll" into a game that's been out for two decades. You can't have just one support. If your going to have this as a roll, you need more than one.
Make enhance shaman great again
Aug (and to a lesser extent, preservation) was a WTF are they thinking moment in WoW. Aug is fundamentally broken, and it wasn't very difficult to see that even before it was on live. Preservation's range limits are also a spec defect that has mostly fallen under the radar, but it will be unignorable when we finally get the "nobody can stand near anyone else" fights.
I love the idea of Augmentation. It's nice to have a spec that has a low skill ceiling and get can the less mechanical players involved and invited. The problem is that it's just OP, tone it down to middle of the pack and it would be a great spec for the prior reasons.
nah, its not op at all. Op is a pally using one divine toll and get 650k dps at once.
The only way to do a support spec and make it fit well, it needs to be its own spec in raids/parties and there should be multiple classes that can do it. That way they actually have a balance bar and would be able to balance support classes with other support classes instead of dps!

Doesn’t even make a little sense. Why would a spell casting dragon that uses its wings to zip around without a shield be a tank spec?
It’s a DPS spec, elemental shaman, enhancement shaman, shadow priest, and ret Paladin have tons of support spells too
@@Frequently1 dragons are inherently tanks. this game is built on the idea that dragons are the ultimate boss. dont need a shield said the bear, vdh, and bdk
@@Essjaybee2934 Elemental shaman even wears mail armor with a shield and still can’t cut it as a tank. Same can be said about old school enhance shaman with rockbitee even.

Support classes need to be good at one thing or the other. Having a support class buff DPS and defensives was a bad move. There just needs to be more options and maybe 6 man M+ content. Aug needs to be a DPS increase in dmg and they need to add a spec/class that buffs defensives
Mistake no.2 after Shadowlands
Aug was a good idea but the execution was extremely poor.
Aug was never a good idea from a game balance perspective. It will either be too OP, or too weak. Support spec(s) will be canned eventually (after they finally realize that there isn't anything they can do about it), the only question is how long they are willing to let the travesty linger.

You’d have to build a whole new game with the role accounted for from the start, otherwise it’s a mistake.
I do think emphasizing support abilities for certain dps specs is worth exploring, like shaman, Paladin.
Because paladins clearly need more utility.
Augs are not necessary this season
Aug was a mistake for 5 man content/m plus. If a support spec is ever average or above average in performance it permanently gains a spot in the most competitive and populated role DPS. Support specs are tolerable if they are always preforming worse than actual DPS so imo Support specs are a waste of development for 5 man content/m plus unless they are always under-tuned so they are tolerable and not OP like in DF Season 2.
Aug isn’t mandatory this season maybe for +30 or something but the group finder has been pretty open this season. The first season it was overturned on purpose so people would play it.
Aug is fine. Aug being the ONLY Aug is not fine. Need more specs turned into support so evoker isn’t pigeon hooed
Rogue, Mage, Warlock, Hunter support specs. No more pure dps, easiest and best solution.

@@sinnis4993 They've said theyt have no intention of removing Aug as a support spec.
So either you add other ones or Evoker is just Aug from here on out. There is no reason to ever bring a Dev or Preserv because Aug exists and there is no other option there.
Pures constantly have 1 spec that is either hard to balance or sucks in pve, easy change to make them into a support spec. This also provides those classes with a "group spec" role they can swap to like other classes can swap to tank or healer if they want easier grouping.
It is absolutely, without question, the exact thing blizzard should do if they are going to keep a support spec in the game.

augment evoker is one the best spec in the game! blizzard could nerf the shiit out of it tomorrow and still would be loved by huge amount of players & a support spec has been asked by the community for many years including me! I think blizzard did amazing job making the augment evoker and i applauded them I don't care what anyone says.
I push 26-27s this season and I never bring one as an UH DK. I hate them lol. I’d rather have a devastation evoker in my group 100%
EVOCKER are all boosted frfr good evo is like 70-90 uptime buff but every evo i see are like 45-55 % and got carried to 3k3

i need to be honest, i'm an aug evoker hater, i don't like the spec i think it was a mistake, made s2 one of the worst thing ever, the worst thing about aug evokers is that they dont even underrstand how to play their own toon, the times i've seen using eons when noone has cds available is blowing my mind, all i see is someone who doesn't know how to play the game and expecting to get carried
Yeah not like other people know how to play their classes. As evoker I was basically a second healer and did all affixes while healers ate glue.

Unironically Augmentation probably ruined the game for a lot of people. Between the unwanted DPS players for the rest of the season, the people told to reroll to pride month dragons or lose a raid spot back when they were stackable, and the fall out it led to with countless guilds.
people can literally play the worst spec on the game with an aug on the side and do good. Its literally the best and healthiest spec for the game. Not everything is only dps, dps , dps ,dps
@samuel2856 isn't true, @TheRabbit68 has the right point!!! shittest and unhealthiest spec for the entire company in their whole history, and the playerbase mostly wanted it to be deleted and reworked into a tank spec what should have been done for the first time.

Drakthyr and evoker in general were a mistake. Dumbest looking, least cool class/race ever with boring uninspired design and gameplay.

aug is a mistake. the sooner they scrap it the better. evoker was a mistake. should have been either three different support specs that each buff only one role dps(blue/yellow)/heal(green/red)/tank(black) or should have filled the roles dps/heal/tank. the former would only work in raid tho. it's just a straight effing brick for 5 man content where there isn't a spot for support. and if you do force it to be 6 man content, now you're effing waiting 20 mins for a stupid evoker who may or may not be worth it because now the dungeons will be tuned to the point where the dragon player has to be good. it's stupid. classic blizz lose/lose situation
