I will have to respectfully disagree on Scalecommander being bad for Devestation. From what I can see, it looks pretty busted due to the synergies it has with its talent tree (at least an a 2 to 3 target cleave scenario). You mentioned a majority of the points below, but there are additional interactions happening behind the scene to take note of. Maybe this will change your opinion on Scalecommander? One can hope haha. :)
Causality, Scintillation, Eternity's Span, Charged Blast, Iridescence, and a minor interaction from Catalyze all interact with Disintegrate alone. When you're throwing out three Disintegrate's at a time, you'll be getting a huge feedback loop of cooldown reduction, a juiced up pyre (that could be used with Dragon's Rage), damage increases from empowered spells, etc.. You could effectively get funnel with the combination of Scintillation and Eternity's Span as well. It's also worth mentioning that additional power from Animosity may come into play from all the cooldown reduction we'll be getting. However, I could see a world where only one of the three Disintegrates interacts with these talents. I think this build would still be solid just due to what the hero talent tree offers.
Then on the other hand, Evokers could pick up Lay Waste and Onyx Legacy for a really short cooldown (~45 seconds I would guess after CDR) and juiced up deep breath. The up front damage, DoT damage, stun, and even being able to steer the deep breath will be absolutely nutty. BUT before I give this tree too much credit, it could live or die depending on how the steering works, as well as the proc rate for Bombardments. As you also pointed out, there isn't many other interactions with Deep Breath beyond that, so its damage will also have to be very high to be considered. With all that said, my first impressions with the limited information we have is pretty good.
    Thats my two cents anyway.

I know you really know your stuff and I hope this tree does turn out well. Thanks for the coverage on this. I know you mostly DPS but I would love to hear future thoughts on preservation updates if you have the time.

We covered Chronowarden, the Aug/Pres Hero Spec when it was unveiled, and we'll definitely talk about Ruby Adept (Dev/Pres) when Blizzard lets us see it, too! =)

most likely bombardments will be counted as black spells since its volcanic damage like eruption for aug, so that will at least get buffed by "might of the black dragonflight" even for devastation
aug is so much fun to play for me and i hope they will be good and fun in war withing, from the two hero talent trees i'd say im probably going to enjoy scalecomander more, i have a very big issue with that one talent in the chronowarden tree that turns hover into a blink essentially, that talent alone if it is what i think it means will make me not want to play that hero spec at all
scalecommander will allow augs to do quite a bit more dps themselves, depending on the tuning of the hero talents of course, and the cdr on breath of eons has good offensive value and defensive with the absorb shield it gives (and that totally is never bugged so that people get a 6k absorb shield after doing a million dps in large pulls)
its just been tough to get into high keys as aug the last few weeks, so i hope they get some buffs again to make it easier to get into pug groups

also the up to 50% damage increase to living flame, with the talent in the class tree that casts up to 4 additional living flames after you use fire breath will add quite a bit of dps
that is if the stacks dont fall off after you use living flame but from how it reads it looks like if combat lasts long enough you can get 50% bonus damage for a long time

I'm sorry dude, but you lost your credibility when you said Augmentation brought no damage. It's a SIGNIFICANT damage contribution to the group when played well.

Literally 26th out of 26 specs in M+ and 26th out of 26 in raid.
It's the worst DPS spec in the game at adding damage, and it's not really close. That's not what it's for.

Its not s2 anymore brother. This season in high keys u run it if survivability is a problem and run a 3rd dps is dmg/timer is a problem. Inform yourself before you critique someone.
Thats btw what all first first key pushers say and consider.
