To be honest i feel this ending could easily pass as THE TRUE ENDING to The Legend of Zelda story as a whole if it weren't for the fact this is just a videogame made for the sake of entertainment and making money.
At first I'm mad at Nintendo that they're advertising this as prequel to botw but after playing the full game blind the game makes me laugh cry and happy 10/10

Dude this ending hit me right in the feels. Before with the other ending I was totally happy with where it ended off but with this it makes me want to continue and see the characters living happily post calamity for some reason.. good news is that musou games are known for having hella DLC so maybe nintendo could hook us up?? :))
A playable Ganondorf DLC would be the best thing ever. Maybe once the sequel to Breath of the Wild comes out Koei will then start working on the next Musou sequel to Age of Calamity to show what happened after Ganon's defeat.
The only characters I think can think of for them to pull over from the og game are Kass and Kilton, maybe the Bolson Construction Co?

Yeah, she’s kinda a jerk to Terrako through the entire game.
What I orginally thought was just a plot device turned into one of the cutest and lovable characters in the game in my opinion. Like, I legit teared up multiple times because of Terrako and Zelda alone.
It is much more forgivable that terrako was something Zelda herself built back in the day. However I don't understand how either herself or King Roham could have forgotten its existence.
When I was watching Zelda cry, all I could think was that tons of actual people (supposedly) died and now she's torn up over a robot she just now remembered that she built. It really soured the final part for me in what was an otherwise enjoyable story.
I will never get over the ending credits with Terrako playing the music. That was a genius idea.
Gotta admit that almost got me tearing up the first time i watched it. 😭

Terrako played everyone’s theme song along with them…..but then he got to link and it was something i’ve never been able to recognize. It sound totally new. I’m guessing that Age of Calamity just created branching timelines. One timeline where the champions win (basically just this game) and another timeline where Ganon wins, Link sleeps for 100 years basically BOTW and probably BOTW 2
I mean, it's not really just messed up. The only impact this has on botw is the future champions experiencing age of calamity and coming back. It's too irrelevant to be part of the zelda timeline unlike the other splits especially since it only has one game in that split and I dont think we're getting anymore games on that split apart from dlc of course

OH MY GOSH SOOGA'S AT THE END. THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY.
So did the New Champions from Breath of the Wild even though they had already been sent back to the future by Zelda. Either AoC Zelda brought them back to her time in order to "celebrate" or the ending scenes with Terrako are just there for show suggesting Sooga is very much dead.

He probably didn't. Those illustrations during the credits where probably just for show since at the very last one you can also see the new future Champions(Teba, Yunobo, Sidon and Riju) standing right next to the old Champions despite them having already been sent to the original BotW timeline by Zelda right after Ganon's defeat. Sooga is probably very much death.

Is it just me or does Terrako remind anyone of Ocarina of Time? Because it sounds so similar to the Ocarina, and he played Zelda’s lullaby
Maybe it's made of the same material that was used to build the Ocarina of Time(the Timeshift Stones from Skyward Sword). That could very well be the reason why it's able to open time portals and travel to the past.
And yet to time travel he doesn't sing the song of time..smh
@@daniele7989 He kind of does(a slightly modified version of the Song of Time that's also the main theme for Age of Calamity). I guess it's possible that Zelda herself could have changed the notes of the song for wathever reason or perhaps the song wasn't actually what opened the time portal in the first place Terrako choosing to play such a melody because it was "programed" to do it.

No that is probably just Terrako's eye appearing briefly to hint at his survival and motivate the player into collecting all the parts necessary to repair him.

basically after you do the last main story quest, the game will tell you that you can repair Terrako by collecting his part. there is 50 parts to collect, all divided into quest each can range between 1-5. just put Sheikah Sensor on Terrako's 50 part quest and youre good to go

Fun fact: Zelda's mother was actually a daughter or granddaughter of Zelda from OOT, showing in the unused room in BOTW, but appears in AOC, which is the great hall, at the end of the hall there is a statue of Rhoam and what seems to be a girl wearing a veil like young Zelda in OOT

You have to collect 50 Terrako parts after you beat the main story to get the secret ending.

So yeah, time travelling that doesnt affect your timeline and creates another branching timeline, Has been around for at least 70 40 years before Android saga. I found all of these in "Parallel Universes in Fiction page on wikipedia under the "Time travel and Alternate History" heading.
Link should've been in the spotlight, tbh. Terrako got too shoved into this game it is too overrated.

He IS one of the 3 representatives of Triforce after all been the one who embodies the Triforce of *Power* so it's only fair that Nintendo dedicates the story of Breath of the Wild 2 to him so as to delve deeper into his character and how is it that he ended up sealed on that Zonai cave underneath Hyrule castle.

@@shinyzekrom2204 As of right now we don't actually *know* if wether Nintendo is going to aknowledge it as part of the canon timeline given that it's story barely touches upon the events of BotW(we don't know from when and where the future Champions came from) and the gameplay seen in Age of Calamity is extremely "over the top" to the point it looks more closely in tune with the original Hyrule Warriors game rather than with the Zelda series in general. We'll just have to wait until either Aonuma or someone makes an announcement declaring it as canon or Breath of the Wild 2 makes references to the future Champions's appereance in AoC. As of right now it is a *mystery* if wether it is canon or not.

Nintendo back down from making it a faithful prequel to Breath of the Wild probably because they didn't want people to play a dark and depressing story where a lot of people die right in the middle of a pandemic that's already killed many people around the world. So they decided instead to "subvert our expectations" by giving us this peculiar timetravel plot that dismisses both the Lore and continuity of BotW in favor of a "what if Disney Pixar happily ever after story" that ends with everyone living together happily as friends, nothing important was lost, no sacrifices were made, no important character dies(except for Sooga i guess) and apparently Evil has been defeated *for good* (Zelda's words did seem to imply she *ended* Ganondorf/Demise for all eternity).
Overall it looks like Nintendo chose to give fans something different to help them relieve stress due to the pandemic rather than make them endure yet more sorrow and depression by having them watch a bunch of characters die on screen while real people are dying elsewhere. Overall i can understand why they decided to take the game in such a direction yet i can't but feel they lied to their costumers with such a decieving marketing that suggested this was going to be a canon prequel to the events of Breath of the Wild. I hope that whatever it is Nintendo has in store for us in BotW 2 they won't resort yet again to lying to us with trailers, tricky marketing, interviews, etc. only to have us playing "Age of Calamity 2" instead of what they originally promised.
@Lilithan Chrispiford the 3rd I can't wait for Aonuma to declare this game as non canon. It literally makes no sense at all Lore wise so it's impossible for it to be any kind of "prequel" to Breath of the Wild.
Personally I like this story more. It's not that I don't like the whole "last stand" story that we would've gotten, but it's a bit less fun to play a game you arealdy know most of the story of. Besides, the Calamity in the "original" timeline was so one-sided that it would probably be hard to represent that in a game where you can kill over 1k enemies per level. Botw still remains at the top spot of my favorites list, but AoC is a close second.

I know the pandemic has taken it's toll on everyone. I get that. The game was probably even finished during quarantine. Maybe they should have pushed back the release date or something, especially since the game feels unfinished. That's not a decision that the common workers get to make, but upper management definitely should have considered it.
If that's their excuse, though, then maybe releasing a game whose message is "everything will turn out great in the end, because there are never consequences for your actions and shortcomings!" is the worst possible thing to do. Considering how the pandemic got this bad in the first place - by pretending everything is fine when it clearly isn't...
But this is all speculation anyway, yes? I thought it more likely that Nintendo assumed the Champions were more marketable alive than dead.

So if AOC did make another time split, then it would show botw, then two lines. One is the sequel botw 2, and then another leading to AOC.

King roam is a terrible father.
Almost all the Kings of Hyrule are when you think about it. The King from Zelda 2 failed at rising his son to be a proper ruler which forced him to entrust the location of the Triforce of Courage to Zelda so that he wouldn't have it. The King from Ocarina of Time completely ignored his daughters's pleas for him to be wary of Ganondorf despite all her premonitions telling her he was bad news. Finally King Daltus from The Minish Cap failed to notice that Vaati was a villain from the very beggining despite of his evil mage looking appereance and the fact he won the Picori Festival annual sword fighting tournament with extreme ease(through the use of magic). With all of this examples taken into account one could say that been a terrible father(and King) runs deep in the Royal Family.
Well, at the end he said that he was the one running away from responsabilities and not Zelda. I think that after the Great Plateau battle he changed.

With how completely one-sided the Calamity is(given Hyrule seems to fall within less than 12 hours), it would be hard to represent that in a game where every playable character is a death machine that can kill 50+ enemies with a single attack. As powerful as the Warriors versions of each character are, it doesn't make much sense for them to lose so badly in this game like they did in botw.

Collect all of the parts necessary to reapir Terrako by going to the many locations highlighted on the worldmap and searching for them once you defeat Ganon.
If you want another challenge, beat all the challenges to get Ganon. It’s so stupidly hard

I'm sick of all these "but muh timeline" people, lol. Who cares, this is a spin off. BotW doesn't even make sense in any timeline either, because we are missing the game that ties in all 3 timelines anyway, and unless Eiji Aonuma pulls something out of his ass to "make it work" it's bullshit. Treat this as the spin off it is and not as an actual prequel. I really, really wanted a true prequel to BotW but whatever, I still enjoyed this game.
I really hope next time you go out to eat, the waiter brings out something you didn't order, smashes the plate over your head, and says "I'm so sick of people like you expecting the food that you ordered. Supposedly this game takes place in an "alternate timeline" like The Wind Waker, Majora's Mask and A Link to the Past during the original timesplit so the events of this game will probably play no part whatsoever in the story of the sequel to Breath of the Wild. The Ganondorf seen in the trailer for BotW 2 is very much the same Ganon from Age of Calamity but from the "original" timeline where the events of BotW happened so don't worry about him not showing up in the game.

The original botw2 trailer pretty much confirms that we're getting 10,000 year old ganondorf as the antagonist, so I doubt they'd change that.
While astor (the edgelord) probably did exist in the main timeline if the game is cannon, he would likely be dead by the time of the main game, let alone the sequal. If alive, he would be as old as impa, and likely not pose any threat. I guess he could appear as an Easter egg, but the main villain is almost 100% meant to be the one and only ganondorf. Everything about the trailer points to it being him. As to what mental state he will be in: that's a little more up in the air
@@adik6084 Thankfully it has *not been confirmed* by Nintendo YET but they could eventually should Aonuma and co. decide to go full stupid in regards to the Zelda Mythology itself and the consistently not "crowded" conflict between Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. That said literally everyone who does not care one bit about the series's Lore and the ever constant Courage/Power/Wisdom conflict that the series has emphasized since the very beggining have been parroting that Age of Calamity is a canon split timeline story. I myself don't believe that whatsoever since i know both the gameplay and the story are too far off to be considered a true story within "The Legend of Zelda" story yet people have such an engaging experience playing through they all feel like this game must be canon despite all the paradoxical convoluted timetraveling nonsense that it creates courtesy of the stupid cheap incoherent paradoxical plotdevice that is "Terrako".
