Costumes are one of those little things that don't need to be added, but when they are it really adds a new layer of fun collecting/using them

You’d figure Zelda would get a nostalgia costume or two like Link has, like a Wind Waker pirate outfit or a version of her gown with some pink highlights as a reference to her old dresses but hey, What can ya do?

Exactly, I think it woud fit this Zelda Skyward Sword Zelda's white dress. Her Ceremonial Robes already look like SS Zelda's white dress, but there are still some differences, like the dress being long sleeved and the bracelets and sandals being purple.

BROOOO. The Hyrule Warriors tunic looks absolutely PHENOMENAL. It is so much better than the Wild tunic. Holy damn, I hope to Heck that's in BOTW 2. If Link had a green tunic instead of the Champion's Tunic, it would look exactly like this. The scarf would act as the Champion's blue that the other Champions have. I just can't get over how seamlessly it fits into BOTW. It would be a waste to have it only in this game. It looks too damn good 😭😭
There is a green tunic for link in botw it’s just not that cool and you have to beat EVERY shrine to get it

All the costumes for Link are great, but I'm sad that there's no OoT link. At least there's Dark Link to satiate my need for the OoT Outfit from the original BotW.

Disappointed that the TP, OoT, SS, and TWW tunics aren't here since I don't like the BotW green tunic. Oh well, at least the HW tunic is, that's really nice. And the blue scarf matches the blue cloths the Champions wear!

The Age of Calamity cutscenes have better graphics than BOTW itself
I mean it was made with Wii U in mind while this was made for switch. I’d imagine BOTW2 will look even better.
@@starscream6629 cutscenes are prerendered videos, the WiiU could easily run videos. It's a fair point from Impa, Koei Tecmo did a better job for cutscenes

What I would have liked the most in this game is more costume for every characters (I’m surprised that Zelda don’t have her costume that she wears in the castle) and entrance/victory animations :(
Ya, the first Hyrule Warriors game everyone had multiple costumes, with the exception of some of the later DLC characters, poor Ravio.
Zelda may unlock the dress attire in the DLC
It's me or Calamity Ganon in this game looks like Akuma of street fighters games, for me is better than calamity ganon of breath of the wild, but it's strange to see him so changed in my opinion.

Honestly its amazing how well the Hyrule warriors green tunic looks good on this style, i think it fits this Link even more than the tunic of the Wild, not only in looks but it could also work well story wise, his blue scarf could easily pass as the blue to show he is a champion, speaking of that, one thing i always found a bit weird is how Link gets a full blue shirt especific for his size while most of the other champions just get a small random piece of blue cloth to warp around their bodies, very unbiased while making them wheren't you Zelda? Lol

It sucks, but they cant just make up a new outfit for everyone. Even though this game is cannon, they only went off of what was in the base game or what we could see in the base game, so making new outfits would betray that entire idea

Just in case you guys wanted to know, the tunic of the wild can be earned by doing side quests that says to qualify for the trial of monk maz koshia. Once you do all of those, a new mission will appear. Beat it and you get the tunic
The fact that there’s only one new outfit is rather disappointing, and that they didn’t even add all the armors from the BoTW DLC...

I knew it wasn't gonna happen since Monolith wasn't working on the game to my knowledge, but I wanted the salvager gear. I run around with that all the time regardless of the fact that it's strictly inferior to the Zora armor.

It’d be cool to get different skins for characters, maybe a Ganondorf Urbosa skin, or a Yiga Impa skin. Spirit skins for each of the four champions?

@@LexAhMonster I just saw a star icon in the central Hyrule area and it looks like one needs to help people EVERYWHERE and get a 100% completion of that to get the HW tunic but to get the Wild armor set I don't know cuz thus far I am not seeing ANY clue about that which is really starting to annoy me

Kind of sucks that the Hero of Time, Fierce Deity, Hero of Winds, Hero of Twilight, Hero of the Sky, and Classic Hero costumes aren’t in this one, though.

Ganon here looks like a combination of Hyrule Warriors (the first one) Ganondorf and the actual Calamity Ganon. Very cool!

link doesn’t get the zora armor from mipha in aoc. mission rewards have a chance to drop costume pieces. so the costumes are non-canon to the story. some come from amiibos too 😬 edit: i also was told link can buy the costumes from vendors so there’s that

How do i get the:
-Royal boots
-Cap of the wild
-Tunic of the wild
-Trouser of the wild
So post story I think you unlock a mission close to 100 per cent completion when you do some missions with king roam you unlock one where you get the boots, Idk about Zara armour, you get a mission for these after doing missions in central hyrule
The Wild tunic is unlocked after beating a challenge called hyrules greatest warrior (you have to battle revali, master Kohga, link, and The Harbinger under ten minutes, is it runs out then it’s defeat)

I was a little disappointed to not see Zelda's Royal dress, but I'm happy that she at least got what she got. I do understand that a floor length skirt and long, flowing sleeves would be a pain to animate on the Switch, and I remember how god awful Zelda's DLC dresses were back in the OG Hyrule warriors.
I can't wait to rock the Lynel mask and Barbarian outfit, also Zelda's winter attire is PERFECT. I understand why it's not included, but I would have liked to see the Ancient Armor make a return.

If there's DLC I really hope they throw in more costumes for the other characters. Like just do fun costumes like what Hyrule Warriors had, that reference games throughout the series. Give Hestu the Korok mask, give Yunobo the swirly body paint that Gorons in the DS games wore, etc.

2. Are they just cosmetic, or do they have effects on stats/gameplay?

well the costumes have a chance to drop from mission rewards and some come from amiibos so they’re not canon to the story

Anybody know how to get the Dark Link Tunic? I have the hood and trousers but I cant get the tunic.

For those of you wondering, You find the trousers at a level 46 mission called "Fire Hazards" above Lake Hylia To the right. Below the trousers is the tunic, a level 80 mission called "Unnatural Disaster" that you get after unlocking Ganon and the Hood you get at a Level 45 mission bottom left of hyrule ridge called "Questionable escort mission"
Very surprised they didn't put Kass in since him and Sidon are THE MOST POPULAR characters from Breath of the Wild.

After doing missions where you have to use king roam u eventually get a quest where you unlock them as the reward
If Twilight Princess had a Hyrule Warriors sequel, I'd go w/ Link from the Twilight Era bein' the central protag, the first playable character (already available from the get-go), the left-handed hero, the hero who's always essential in ev'ry chapter in the story, AND the star. Plus, I'd go w/ Link havin' the green outfit from the Twilight Era as his main outfit. His standard combos could start w/ left-handed horizontal slashes, then move on w/ left-handed chops, an' then wrap up w/ left-handed thrusts. His Musou could be the left-handed Great Spin. His Focus Spirit's finish could be the runnin' stab with light blue energy from his sword. His Flurry Rush could start with slashes, then end with fatal stabs in the chest (sword raised up fer stabs against bigger enemies' stomachs or hearts). His Weak Point Smashes could be combos that end w/ stabs. His final blow against Ganondorf's gotta be the final Endin' Blow--a fatal stab in the very center o' the dark lord's chest--again. The final boss fight's gotta be like the one in Twilight Princess, but w/ Midna, Zelda, Rusl, AND the other heroes helpin' out while Link deals w/ Ganondorf again. The Hero o' the Wild costume (the green outfit in BotW with the green cap, green tunic with the brown shirt, and the brown shorts with the boots), the Hyrule Warriors costume, the Hylia's Chosen Hero costume (with the gold-plated pauldrons and the red cape), the Sky Era costume, the Hero of Time Era costume, AND the green costumes in the first Zelda games could be unlocked as bonus costumes, but with Link's dirty blond hair (always parted on the right). Them green outfits could have info, like a hero who gave his life to protect humanity's future, a hero who traveled on the land AND in the air, a hero who became the Hero of Time in a different future he got back from, a hero who's gunna travel to the Dark World (ALttP Link), a hero from Calatia who's gunna save Hyrule (Link in TLoZ AND AoL), and a 117-year-old who's gunna save Hyrule from Calamity Ganon AND restore the Master Sword to its pristine conditon ta stop a 3rd Ganondorf (BotW Link). Link's gotta use the Twilight Era Master Sword (still called Master Sword) in his left hand again, but this time, with the Sky Era Hylian Shield (the same one in SS AND BotW) in his right hand. That Hylian Shield from before Hyrule's foundin' could be called Royal Hylian Shield (the same SS Hylian Shield, but modified so Link from the Twilight Era has it on his right arm). The Master Sword's gotta be Link's main weapon again (but with the Sky Era Hylian Shield on his right arm this time). Midna could be the deuteragonist AND the leadin' lady again (with a black two-edged saber or a long-bladed spear). Zelda could be more involved as second deuteragonist with her royal sword as her main weapon (with the holy powers AND the Light Bow in the Twilight Era as her ranged weapons). Ganondorf could be the unplayable final boss in the story, then be a secret unlockable character. The dark king could use a big sword in his right hand again, but this time, it's gotta be a sword that looks just like Demise's sword. He could keep his beard, his unibrow, his hairstyle, AND his armor (with the hole in the very center). He could still be a giant who'd tower above Zelda AND Link. By the way, Link could be 5'8. The whole game could be in the same Hyrule from the Twilight Era.
So I have the Dark Link hood and dark Link pants but I can't find that mission for the Tunic?

For the tunic you have to complete a level 80 mission
Was worried because I didn't see it in the guides I looked at but I can rest easy...the Gerudo Disguise is here.
When you wear a Monster Mask, all Link's "battle quotes" are replaced with the specific monster sounds. For example, if you wear the Lynel Mask, all Link's quotes will be replaced with Lynel's sounds

Dang I was hoping for a Fierce Deity Outfit. That has to be my all-time favorite...
The HW costume should’ve been the actual champion’s tunic for botw. But instead of a scarf we could’ve used the destroyed remains of the blue tunic (when Link fell to the guardians) to make a half-cape akin to Ezio to make Link look more traditional while embracing his past. And as a reward for getting all the memories we could’ve gotten a replica of the blue tunic

question how do you actually get the Zora armor (as in the tunic) i got the other two pieces but aren't sure how to get it do i need to complete the side quests for the Lanayru region or is it tied to a main story guest like the helmet was
also how do you change attire for different characters I cannot remember how to do it and can only change Link's clothes

Something I noticed when I got the lynel mask is when link attacks you can hear lynel roaring sounds and it changes link ideal animation to.
That goes for all monster masks
How do you get the hyrule warriors tunic? Someone told me it was a save data bonus but they were obviously making that up because I have the original HW and it didnt unlock for me. Is it an end game thing?
