I lost my twins right before Christmas so each year during the cold months I experience grief for the happy fun life I almost had. It gets a little easier with time but still we never forget. Blessings.

I see that you have a candle lit, in a glass, on the table while you're making bread. I too light candles, all day long even, on grey days---for companionship. Today the weather is grey and drizzly, here on the North Oregon Coast, USA, and so I have candles lit on the windowsills. They show up well on such days, and cheer my heart. Thank you for sharing your heart-guided reflections.

    Beautiful - thank you!
I am now the oldest living member of my family - will be 80 in September and all we can do is remember fondly all the good things! There were SO many 😊❤
I lost my son when he was only 17, and my beloved husband almost 12 years ago. We learn to cope with the deepest of grief but we must remember them always.

Life is sacred and we should cherish it. When we have to say goodbye, it can be the hardest thing to do. When you have room for the Lord, you grieve with hope and knowing that He was there with you at the beginning He's there with you now and will be there with you after this day is over.

So true, grief doesn't pass by anyone. You never forget your loved ones and can only cope the best way you can. My husband died very suddenly, and although it's coming up for thirty four years I will never forget.

So sorry to hear that you had to deal with a sudden death. In my view talking about it more in society would be beneficial as we all will have this experience at one point. Thank you for commenting, it is much appreciated.

I think we do well to remember our lost family members and all that they stood for and believed and accomplished.
You have a serene and gentle way about you that makes your words go far. 💜. Thank you 🕯

Grief is, for some, a long lingering wound on the spirit. In time it gets covered with 'scar' tissue that enables you to carry on but it never truly heals. I lost my wife to cancer ten years ago and the pain still remains. Tears come on occasion, even now, and life is a rather monochromatic, purposeless, experience without her in it. But, tho' her death looms large in my memories, there are also all those lovely moments of shared experience and when I recall them I do remember how wonderful life used to feel.

Thank you for taking time to write your comment. I am really sorry for your loss. I do agree that loss leaves us with a scar that fades over time but also we might feel the same grief at times we felt when the loss happened. Having lovely memories is some form of comfort and I am glad you do remember all the good times you had.

@@thescottishfairy5396 Thank you in return, dear lady. I am loving browsing your videos; the gentle, peaceful, pacing and presentation is wonderful.
I wonder if you follow a particular spiritual path or if your centred and tranquil approach to life is a more general sense of what is important? I follow the Druid way myself and am very much a forest 'dweller'; there is where I find the rare moments of true internal 'quiet' where I can be still and listen to the trees.

What a calming and beautifully shot video I loved it. I've been through a lifetime of grief but I'm still resilient if I take 1 day at a time, I won't get overwhelmed thinking or worrying about the future.

I think about my passed father and mother, along we all those loved ones I can remember, everyday. I accomplish this by saying a daily prayer and include them by name. In this way they live on and I hope someone will do the same for me. I love Scotland and hope to visit one day.

Thank you for speaking about this, you're right, grief is so common and something we'll all know eventually, yet it's so often absent from the conversations around us. I think normalising grief and ways to channel this is really important so I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts ❤ Thanks from Edinburgh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Great recepie....your potatoe-walnut-bread ... I will try this-I bake my own bread-but your recepie is new to me.THANK YOU...
and your words about ancestors and a life befirw ours are so true...
Yesterday we had the eclips-which my middle son in USA watched and send me fotos-for we in Germany did not notice.....I was thinking all of yesterday-how the ancient folks would have felt-witnessing this "event"and reading-that the next big one will be in around 40 years...which means ...I will not be here anymore.
So your wise and beautiful words fit my mood perfectly...much love from my ballett-lunch-break-Germany

Thank you for this beautiful video. I am new to your channel. What you said about hearing passed loved ones voices and then finding yourself speaking as they would, is the first time I have heard someone express what I myself have found in my life to be true. Thank you for the lovely content in your videos. You have a very pleasant voice. You always end by saying something in a different language...Celtic perchance? Would love to know what you are saying and what it means. Sending much gratitude and aloha.🌈💫💙🌺

I am saying "tapadh leibh" which is Scottish Gaelic for "Thank you". Thanks again for taking the time to comment, it is much appreciated!

Hello again dear Scottish Fairy.....how beautiful and insightful this lovely video on loss and remembrance. Just this past week I lost a long time childhood friend of many years. Her funeral is this Friday. I have written a series of short anecdotes ...stories that she shared with me these past special years of her childhood, her life and 'adventures' which I have had printed...one copy for another very close friend of hers and one for myself to read again and again with love and all the best memories. Each of us has a 'life book' and we leave behind our stories and hopefully our loved ones will read them.

Hello Charlotte and thank you for all your kind and thoughtful messages. I am sorry you lost your childhood friend, that is very sad and heartbreaking. I find your idea wonderful to write down your best memories. It is also good for those we leave behind as a legacy of who we are. I am sending you a heartfelt hug from Scotland 🧚
