    What do you need to know before starting your ACCA journey?
    All the things to know before embarking on ACCA journey.
    I have been on this journey a couple of years back and are now enjoying the benefits of completing my ACCA.
    I have completed my Certified Chartered Accounting qualifications in June and became an ACCA member in July 2019. This was the most challenging and rewarding journey I have ever been on.

    I have pass all final papers in one go from 2021- 2022. Candidates seriously need to have the right mindset , need to prepare to sacrifice your time for family, entertainment etc. especially 1 month before the exam. Consistently study smart and practicing 3 months before exam will help maximising your passing chance.

    thank you so much for this video highly appreciated! I'm one of the many viewers that you inspired. btw i recently arrived here in UK under dependant partner visa. i'm CPA in my country having a cumulative 7 years (3 years and worked 4 years in UAE) of experience in accounting and auditing however i think it was not recognized here . I've been actively looking for a job and sending applications daily but unfortunately up until now got no work and no interviews. so I am thinking to pursue ACCA then emailed ACCA to check for any exemptions and luckily i was entitled for 4 exemptions (BT, MA, FA, LW). Now my questions is - if I'll take exam only and so not enrolled as students, are there any employer that can hire me (in order to earn to help my partner while self-studying(unenrolled in UK univ)? tia :)

    Hi Agnes, great content about ACCA. I am currently at the Strategic level. I have been using Acowtancy for skills papers. All I did was watch the classroom videos and did questions, thats it. I managed to pass my skills papers like this. Is this method of just watching the Acowtancy classroom videos along with doing past questions enough to pass the strategic level?
    Also regarding practice questions, did you use either a practice exam kit from kaplan or BPP?
    Thanks:)

    • @AgnesMann
      @AgnesMann  2 года назад

      Yes Acowtancy classes are enough plus the past papers, just trust Richard he will guide you what you need to do. I did not use any practice kit, just printed lots of past papers and went though these.
      Thank you so much, please share my videos around so others get help too.

Do you think it’s worth claiming exemptions or to just start ACCA from the very start because I’m really worried about struggling with my first paper which will be the strategic ones also previously known as the P papers as I won’t be used to an ACCA paper or may struggle because I didn’t do the previous papers linking to that one? I’m really in need for some advice so would appreciate it!

    Hello Agnes Mann. First of all, thank you very much for your ACCA informative videos. I started living in London 6 months ago. I am Turkish. I have 20 years of experience as a certified public accountant (CPA) in Turkey. I registered with ACCA and got exemption from 9 courses. My English is unfortunately not good. My English is at B1 level. The courses I have to take the exam are: 1- Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA) 2- Strategic Business Leader (SBL) 3- Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) I also need to complete the Ethics and Professionalism course. I booked for Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA) exam in September 2021. First of all, I am trying to improve my English. What other route would you suggest I follow? If I am successful in these courses, what jobs can I get into in the UK? In which field would you recommend me to work in order to gain work experience in the UK? I want to work on Audit, thanks.

    • @AgnesMann
      @AgnesMann  3 года назад +4

      Hi Kursat (I gather that’s your name). I would suggest looking for a similar type of jobs you have had back home so that at least your skills match up to job specs. Don’t worry about English- this is not what they checking as long as you can explain your logic. Grammar and spelling it’s not penalised. As to work experience I would go for accounting practice with audit. London has ample of opportunities and now the market is opening up so you should find the job soon with so much experience. Good luck

      @@SeanKaitano it was varied depending on the paper. I took 3 years to pass 5 papers as I kept failing it. Only one papers I’ve actually manage to pass as the first attempt but other once it was two to three attempts. It takes about 6 - 8 weeks to prepare for the exam depending on how much you study and how quick you learn

    Can I start job after completing all 13 papers ?

      You should start jobs before studying as a matter of fact. Only after 36 months of professional experience (proven ) and 13 papers you can qualify. The sooner you start work experience the better (must be accounts role)

      It is a different professional body that does the same thing.. Although I must say ACCA is more recognisable worldwide.
      Are you considering which one to choose?

      @@AgnesMann no thanks, our son did the other one ICAEW when he was at one of the Big four accounting firms in London years ago. Just wondering what the difference was between ACA, ACCA,ICAEW , my understanding is that ACCA you can study and pass in your own time like my sister in law did but not the ICAEW for that you must work in a firm and complete so many hours while revising and taking exams or modules every so many months over three years.
