Things aren’t always as they seem, when watched this first time, I said to myself, that’s about right, what you’d expect a stock C7 to do vs a stock 3.8 Genesis Coupe, then I read the description and C7 owner’s comments, the Genesis is far from stock and makes 440whp, about 40 more than a stock C7, but they both make about the same so C7 must have a couple bolt ons too at least, but he (the G)was having overheating issues so he let out of it after the launch, in other words, they need a rematch when the Genesis sorts out his heating issues, and fix that wheel/tire/suspension set up please!
Reminds me of my C5 Corvette launching. Adrenaline often makes you a little impatient with the throttle but that rear weight bias makes it out launch most even if it's not masterfully done. Mine's not stock admittedly. 408 stroker + big cam
A 2.0 Genesis Coupe 2013 or 2014 model can be built to beat a C7. Brian Paul has a 700whp+ Genesis Coupe 2.0 and BTR Racing has the red 850whp Genesis Coupe 2.0. I have a stock 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8, which is N/A. Remnant Performance recently reached 515whp and 444tq on stock block for the 3.8 version. I plan to get a built engine in the future from Travis and have 500 to 550whp as a daily. Either that, or have it LS swapped or trade it in for a Supra or 2023 Nissan Z in the future. The highest 3.8 have reached 603whp and up to 700whp twin turbo. It all depends on how much money a person has, and what their goal for the cars is. Most Genesis Coupe owners don't have money for the built engines. As for the white Genesis Coupe in the video, I doubt he has upgraded turbo. They are cable of maintaining 413 to 440 or 450whp on stock engine. At least the BK2 versions are, based on what I have researched and learned.
Yeah I’m the guy that owns the c7 and I don’t know much about the genesis cars but the genesis is my friends and we only did this run because he just got it back from the shop after some work and a tune and he was putting down around 440whp and we wanted to see how close it was to me but this run wasn’t hood for him because it was running hot and he decided not to push it
Yes but still 3.8 that make 340hp gap 440hp 2.0t’s you can search it up when you got a remember to make 440 on a 2.0, you have to have a upgraded turbo set up. And even if you didn’t need an upgraded turbo, it still comes turbo from factory and with the tune you can bring up the psi
Anybody gonna mention that this genny is not set up to do a dig? Look at those bologna skins, prolly spun 2-3 car lengths. I have a 13 2.0t. There solid cars from a dig once you install the 4th mount and bushing kit for the diff..... secondly looks like he's tuned cause he's Hella rich, if he is tuned why wouldn't he 2-step the launch to have boost out of the hole? Idk I wasn't there only commenting on what I can see

He is now in search of different wheels and tires and trying to get rid of his air ride system….this was all in good fun
@@Bulletc7vette oh for sure! That's what it's about is having fun and improving your driving/shifting/reation time. Did he go full stand alone ecu? Or just flash tune the stock ecu?.... I would recommend going to a single exit exhaust as big as you can go lol. Those 2.0's need to breath. Mine just has a full intake, 3" turbo back exhaust to a 4.5" tip and a blow off valve.... walks away from the 3.8s

Both of these cars are actually putting out very close to the same power right now on paper….his genesis is not stock…actually very from from stock but this day we ran he was having a huge heating issue and after he launched it he came out of it and this was his low boost setting so we didn’t do another run so maybe one day we will line them up again and try

I just got taken for a ride as a passenger in a 2013 3.8L with a tune and strait pipe exhaust guy said it was making 400whp and doing 3.5 to 60.. it Did sound brutal, actually to loud but it had the 8spd auto as well...I got to experience many standing starts and some pulls and I was like "is that it? it in no way felt like a 3.5 sec car ..it was loud but completely Underwhelming....fely like 280whp and abt high 5's to 60

The turbo on the genesis is a aftermarket precision turbo….he has a ton of upgrades car wasnt running well that day it had heat issues
