they have same color and motion processing, pml95 has more brightness and voice control. 9008 has faster smart tv experience, but it doesn't have android apps.
It's worse in every way! PML9008 has an IPS panel while PML9507 has a VA panel. PML9008 has worse contrast, black levels, way more blooming, the picture is way darker, it's no match for my X95J while PML9506 is brighter than X95J. I tested PML9506, PML9507 and PML9008, you can check my videos on my youtube channel if you want to. Motion is also not the same, it was downgraded, it's way more limited settings wise just min, med and max settings while before you had a slider from 0-10, it was way more precise and you could set it to your liking, now it's just 24fps or super smooth SOE. You can't have a small smoothening effect anymore like on other Philips TV's with android and google OS. The new Saphi OS is crap and full of bugs and no it's not a better or faster experience in any way than android or google, it's a big downgrade. Avoid this TV, it's just average and overpriced.
Hi, looking for some subjective opinion, i can get the xtra 55" for £730 or the 808 oled 55" for £1300, which is the better value? I appreciate Oled is better than mini-LED but coming from a standard edge lit Panasonic LED will i notice the difference? Thanks
it depends if you watch tv in bright, dimly lit or dark room, 1000 nits mini led looks more vivid in the bright room, while 800 nits oled has better viewing angle and perfect contrast black levels in the dark room, but looks dimmer in the bright room and daylight room reflections are more noticeable on oled screen.

It depends, if you want better hdr colors with more brightness or you need more apps, it is faster than older saphi versions in some tests faster than android, it is comparable with hisense vidaa, lg webos or samsungs tizen, some apps will be added with next updates, so the only downside is lack of voice control vs google android tvs
found it (athens greece) at an electronics megastore (kotsovolos) for 800 euros. I think its going to drop even further ulntil Xmas so i am seriously considering to buy it over the the... hisense 55u8h which costs equal price. Better brand, higher quality over the chinese hisense no doubt.

Philips no longer aim to compete with Qled and their LCD line is fully targeted on the mid-range market, Danny Tack said so himself. Why they have downgraded the ambilight to 3-sided, for ALL lineups, is however just a poor decision. I hope the **09 versions will go back to 4 sided

It has new Titan Os, but out of box is not ready. With the new 2024 updates in next months it will have support for voice control via phone and more, i will test asap
beautiful tv very happy to see philips has brought back the 9 series I have the 9006 but sadly broke the screen so "down ish" graded to the 8507, the PML 9008 is a very pretty tv but i am confused why they chooseo their own OS on this rather than Android :c I worry there will not be Disney Plus for example on the tv.
@jeanbrouwers yeah its very odd not sure what philips are thinking with the 9 series this year. I personally don't mind but I fear it might not have Disney Apple or Now TV for example.
There are TV boxes out there. I myself have a Google 4K Chromecast and a Nokia TV Box.And i'm using them on both my Android Philips TVs.Why?Simply because they're more powerful than the Android OS on the TVs.
@Sleepingsun40 yeah that is a perfectly viable solution but when they're sold online or more over major retail stores selling different brands the sales representing will definelty mentions the competitor to this TV (the song full array models) have built in Google TV with all the apps ready to go so it may hurt the sales of this TV. We will see. I was planning to buy the PML but I'll probably just get an OLED TV from Philips now.
Black levels are really powerful, much better than on any led 8 series, oled still wins in moon star scenes, but in general mini led has big advantage in hdr brightness...
If you care for black levels and don't want OLED then this TV is a no go because it has an IPS panel. My X95J which is not a Min LED but just FALD has better black levels, contrast and shadow detail. You have to get a TV with a VA panel and local dimming if you want the best blacks on a LCD.
Mini LED doesn't burn like OLED and has more brightness than a standard OLED. When we talk about HDR, brightness is way more important than color. I know OLED has this perfect contrast per pixel but Mini LED trend to offer very similar results with its hundreds of dimming zones. Of course it's not as accurate when you have a dark background with a bright object in the middle, but since that's not exactly the image you're gonna be watching 99% of the time I think it doesn't really matter.
When watching reviews... every single Philips regardless gets a pet in the back for bright picture but in reality it's so damn bright that most of the screen looks awful blurry with much less details. I was going to buy the LG 65" QNED826 tomorrow on a good price deal, but just now another vendor put this model up for same price for 55".... First I see Mini-Led... and say oh shit, wait. But again reviews with picture quality side by side shows much better picture quality from any QLED/QNED specially LG... details on far away mountains are hardly visible on any Philips modell, most blurr... but highly detailed on them others. The fact that it comes with utter worthless own OS is also a major issue... Friends with this crappy OS on less than 3 yo tv's don't even have disney+, hbo or any other major streaming...only Netflix and Amazon... the latter crashes all the time, constantly...hardly any apps been added on updates since they bought it and none were in entry cheap level Philips modells either. A disco behind my tv isn't very desirable so I don't get the point with ambilight...it's just buncha lights around the tv, almost disturbing at times with flicker and whatnot... Only aspect right now drawing to this modell is Mini-Led for decent price... but I think LG QNED wins anyway and purchased tomorrow...there's no contest in picture, color details and richness... It's almost as if Philips just turned the brightness as high as it goes to the point of you sqeenting the eyes... and say, there... we have "best" brightness, F the details in a picture, you disco tv instead... and ffs just scrap that horrible OS that looks and works like something from 2008 and go google only... what even is the point of slapping non working garbage to your product...

samsung je brzi, ovisi sto se ocekiva ali ak se prvi tv kupuje nece bit ni philips puno sporiji a ima sve boje sto ima samsung i jos ambilight.

PML9007 1500 nits, PML9008 1000 nits, philips has downgraded series in last 10 years 6 series is now 7, 9 is comparable with old 8 series.
