    I enjoyed seeing your new plants, thanks very much for the updates. the large Anthurium is particularly beautiful in my opinion. Tomorrow I am purchasing a Black Coral Sensevieria to add to my collection, I like the plant and we have the perfect space for it. Thanks again.

      aw it's definitely scary when you haven't had one before. My biggest advice is to check for pests and isolate them - I've had a couple with pests like scale and mealies and thrips damage 😅

    Hoping they all thrive Melissa. Thanks to you I got some of my plants chores done too! Absolutely love your variegated Monstera Peru so will enjoy seeing how it grows! Am really loving my PON too...my alcoasia love it and now you've given me the idea to transfer my anthurium to pon as well. Can't wait to see an update on all your imports. I quite the large anthurium (Jemanii). We have the regular ones here occasionally so it was interesting to see your variegated one. Stay well Melissa and looking forward to your next video (hoing it's a long one 🤭🥰

    So beautiful the variegated Peru hope to own one someday. I have the regular green one and i love it. Is the only vining plant i have as i love the compact growth not leggy like the other vine plants. I love the cats keeping you company while you do plant chores. Even though the table isn’t the best comfort spot compared to a soft area like couch, there beds and hammock. I see some cat’s parents stick some of those hammock on the windows for them to look out and the sun.

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  7 месяцев назад

      They kept getting up in my window last winter in here and knocked plants over lol so I keep them out of my plant room unless I am in here. Chai can get sorta nosey and nibble plants too. They would love the window hammock for sure! They have access to the patio most days and they love it!

    I love your videos! I feel like we are kinda on the same path with our plant collections and preferences. I've commented before but I don't know if you've seen that I highly recommend mixing in perlite or pumice in with your stratum. It promotes more aeration and stretches out the amount of rooting substrate you have on hand. I've had better results mixing in perlite, pumice, or even Pon if I really want a cutting to do well. I try not to use Pon because it's more expensive than perlite or pumice.

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you! I need to try it again mixing in perlite or I’ll get some pumice. When I tried it before I got a lot of molding that happened so not sure what happened.

    Hi Melissa! planty question for you, how long would you recommend keeping baby alocasia polly under a domed nursery pot? it's my first time growing them and I'm not sure how long to keep them under there, 2 have sprouted leaves now!

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  7 месяцев назад +1

      I would adjust them slowly to your RH so they don't shock. Alocasias love humidity but they don't absolutely need it.

      Google "Lechuza Pon Substrate." It is instead of soil (looks kind of like gravel) and you use it in self-watering pots. LeafyDiva here on RUclips has a lot of info I found helpful when first getting into it.

    Why not cut the brown leaves off? They aren't benefitting the plant at all. They aren't going to looked better and they rob nutrients from the rest of the plant. Just a thought. I've grown plants for 50 years.
    I've noticed the modern hobbyist think they still benefit the plant.
    They don't.
    Love love 😍 your plants, cats and videos.
