I love the T-Shirt they sent you, I would totally wear that too! (after I washed it of course, lol). I think you are lovely and you chose a nice place to film your video but I would have gotten to the unboxing sooner and less about the emails. I love unboxings and that's why I stopped by. I was disappointed and wanted more reveal and less description about each one. It was very nice of the folks to send you all those plants. Hope you enjoy them for years to come.

@@plantsbymelissa It's very similar to the queen anthuriums when mature! supposed to be easier than them though. The other would be a type of bird's nest anthurium I think 😅

That was so helpful! I’ve been wanting to import but too nervous. I’m glad you mentioned they shed their roots because that would have scared me lol. But I loved seeing each step you took with them.
Aw glad it was helpful! I went into a lot more details with my prior imports and took you through step by step what I did. I was nervous at first but since this is my third import I am a lot more confident with them. A lot of the root system sorta shocks but they'll grow new ones over the next several weeks and the plants start to perk up almost immediately. @@plantsbymelissa Thanks for sharing! I don't think I've come across the idea of root shedding yet. I wonder if it could be worth doing a video on specifically root shock/shedding with your rehab treatment. It looks like you might cover it in that playlist, but I don't know that it'd be easy for people searching RUclips to track down when trying to figure out why roots might be falling off their plants. I'll definitely keep your import playlist in mind if I end up with a plant that's been stuck in the mail for a long time and the roots are having a rough time.

Great haul! You mentioned having a monstera Peru before but it dying, it could be interesting to do a plant fail video where you talk about some plants that have passed in your care and what happened
Thank you! Most of the plant fails recently was due to a soil I was using last summer that was breaking down and staying too moist which deprived the roots of oxygen and caused root rot earlier this year. I definitely don't want to talk about them anymore 🥲 My var Peru was potted into it 😩

Dry cleaner bags work well for large imports. Just call around and you'll find a dry cleaner who will sell you a few.

Beautiful! Can I make a suggestion: Use filtered water. That tap water if like our is full of junk. It will hurt the roots terrible. I almost killed a plant.
Never had a problem with tap with my other imports I've done. I use filtered for my plants though :)

Congratulations! That's so exciting!! 🥰 I would give it the best light you can and they like to be a little root bound so I wouldn't repot right away and water mostly dry. If the soil sits too wet the roots will be deprived of oxygen so they can rot easily. Mine came back from rot so you can treat it! 🫶

I didn’t notice, do you spray the roots with the soap also or just the leaves???
Mostly just the leaves but some of the soap was in the water so it's totally fine! It's very gentle! I let it sit for about 5 minutes and then I rinsed them :)

It's castile soap by Dr. Bronner's! You can get it online and a lot of local stores carry it. I got this big bottle at target lol but I can order it on amazon too.
Thank you very much for your help! I am a beginner I don’t know much about how to care about plants I have a caramel marble variegated that is dying right now I don’t know how to revive it. I bought it here in California $500 one leaf. It was doing good for few months give 3 leaves and then it’s started to die I found out has rotten from over watering. Maybe you can help me to revive my plant

Takes the certificates and puts them on the ground.... you do know they had to spend like $60 dollars on each plant to get certified ? it cost them like $360 dollars plus shipping to get you those plants so like $400 dollars. Hopefully you have bought from them in your past?

This company has been awful to order from for me. Super long delays, dead plants, bad communication and dead plants
I definitely had a lack of communication for several months. My last import I received came with tons of pests so didn't have the best experience. It wasn't with this company though. I know these were gifted to me so actually paying to have plants imported would be a different scenario on whether I would take the chance with the long delay. I was really happy with the condition of them but I would still be hesitant. Sorry about your experience!

Thank you! The last import I did several months ago this summer I filmed everything and went into more details. They asked me to get an import permit and it wasn't too complicated. I found a video that walked me through how to do it and it was free!
