Hey guys, in this Restoration Video I restored an old 'Adriance' Wrench. Its an adjustable Wrench from around 1930. When i got the wrench, the wooden handle was broken, it was pretty rusty and the mechanism was stuck. So I disassembled this old tool and restored all the metal parts by welding, filing, sanding and grinding. Theres a nut sitting on the tang, it was completely destroyed. So i made a new one. The wooden handle was also made new from a piece of ashwood.
The adjustable wrench works well now :-)
I hope you have fun with the video! If you have any questions on the used tools, materials or the processes, write it in the comment section - i´ll try to answer as soon as possible!

‘I make a new nut’ nice work and homage to my mechanics
Thanks J!
Great job buddy, such a good thing knowing that that wrench is not going into the garbage.
Thanks Eric!
That's a very nice adjustable hammer.
Ach, auch, wer ist Dr. Beer?
That’s what the pre owner said
Ein Freund von mir, schau mal auf RUclips nach „not terrible restorations - by Dr. Beer“
11:56 "Easy" - no, no no no. You make it *look* easy ;)
Oh you got me 😄
Most restoration s take things back to original look ... You make them look better than original!!!
Hey Ron, thanks! I really aprecciate!
Another addition to the kings arsenal.
Thanks Carl!
That's unbelievable! Waiting for new restorations)
Great job, When you chopped the threaded end off, I would of chopped it a bit further down . Then drilled and tapped the end and used a fully threaded bolt and screwed it in then welded it. That part needs to be strong, if it's going to be used.
Very sweet friend, great restoration friend, have a nice day !!!.
Thank you so much Brian, you too!
He fixed it one piece at a time
Awesome, perfect and beautifully.........., everything great work, video and product, bravo and respect, old bg.
😅😅
Perfection personified! 👏👍🏼
Thanks Mike!
I give you triple S. Super, sweet and satisfying!
Haha, thanks Shahid!
What a beauty! Cheers from Athens Greece
Thanks! Cheers from Germany!
Nice job and a pleasure to watch. Bit surprised at the beginning you didn’t try heating the stiff nut with a blowtorch to expand it. May have saved damaging it. Also recutting the threads on shaft and nut. Might have been better than doing the welding job which I don’t see will be strong enough to hold the parts together when using the wrench and will break over a period of time.
I see you from Greece🇬🇷 nice video
Thanks a lot!
old but gold, huh?😂🔥
Pretty sick restoration. Two thumbs up!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful restoration..................Should had beveled the weld site for greater strength.
BRAVO!👍👍👍
6:33 when welding tool's arm like this one, it's better to plan for a conical cut of the two sides and rude prepa of the surface and fill the whole space with welding matter, it provide more grip and solidity, i am sure you know that but you didn't apply it because perhaps you think there's no huge tension on this arm, anyway great work as usual and your metal hand file skills and controls are outstanding
truly skilled work.............nice job, real nice. This is more of a reconditioning than restoration.......... The name should have stayed as originally punched and the handle could have easily been straightened and those threads could have been dressed up......... the new handle could have been the only replaced part. But your skills are top shelf. Thank you for letting us in to see.
Need to bevel each end before you weld for a more stronger weld. It won’t be long before that weld fails. It’s easy to see when you grind it down. Other than that, great work!
Thanks Brett, I’ll keep in mind ✌️
Just my word.
Exactly, I was saying that to myself when he started welding the tang on.
Ditto all the above.
This is my notice
“SWEET” job. Congratulations
Thanks Roger!
Mr Patina: I can’t repair the handle

Hand Tool Rescue é ferramenta de colecionador. Voltou a vida novamente.
Awesome. I thought at the end you would blue the metal to protect it from rust.

So talented
Brilliant, but nothing left of the original tool.
Beautiful work, sir! Filing everything down smooth is apparently an enormous amount of work, but I tell you that you can clearly see the difference! This was a fantastic renovation!
Yes it is! Thank you so much! 🙂
Pure genius.
Thanks Kevin!

Thanks 🙂
You made a new tang! MyMechancs would be so proud!
Haha, I bet!
Good job for a good tool.
Thanks!
It's just perfect. You are very good bro.
Thanks Can!
Beautiful restoration. Second on heavily chamfering edges on your welds. It gives you MUCH deeper weld penetration for welds that are almost always stronger than the surrounding material. All that aside that wrench probably looks better than it did the day it was made.
Got the hint, thanks a lot 🙂✌️
These old tools look so good after you’re done with them! So much more interesting than a modern wrench too!
Hey Miss K! Thank you so much! :-)
... sehr schön geworden - Glückwunsch! 😉🦊
Danke!
Very nice indeed. Still has that older look but with a clean finish. Thumbs Up!
Thanks Gary! 🙂
Beautiful results
Thanks Larry!

Beautiful tool!. great transformation!. Happy new year 2023!!. thank you very much for you genius!! ,,---",,
Well done!
Thanks! 🙂
Great restoration, I can remember my Father and Grandfather using a wrench very similar back in the late 40s and 50s.
Thanks Larry!
Hey! I have one of those! I can't wait to learn how to fix it.
Good luck 🙂
12:22
Haha, thanks!
Good job there, but considering the large amount of filing you do, I am surprised you haven't purchased a belt sander. It would make life much easier.
Very nice job 👍👌💪
Thanks!
RESPECT!🙌🔨
Thanks :-)
Stunning!
Thanks!
10 out of ten friend
Thank you so much Robert!
Wow, another one I thought was beyond saving, awesome job, quite probably better than new. Neat idea to use the chuck stock of the lathe to brace the thread cutter square on to the handle shaft. Good comment re the weld, bevelling the edges prior to welding gives a channel around the join for the weld material to accumulate into hence stronger weld.
Thank you so much! Ill keep your words in mind :-)
Beautiful job. 👌
Thanks Shaun!
One more fine old tool brought back to life thanks to you 👍 great video
Thanks Frank!
That tool looked like a heap of scrap, unusable garbage, and now it looks like 120 buck machinist tool, absolutely amazing job
Thank you so much Diego!
Great job!
