This old rusty handcranked Grinder didnt work very well when i received it. I disassembled it and restored every part. The body got a new paintjob, I also installed a new grinding stone. After reassembling the Grinder works perfectly fine again.
I really enjoyed this video! Good work and good editing :-)
Green is my least favorite color, but I really liked this paint job.
Thanks Bro! :-)
It’s not just a green...it’s Patina green 😄
Next time I will use a 2k can clear coat, to get a more glossy finish!
And this is how you become a royal on RUclips. The King himself comments on your video
You’re one of the best, but don’t call yourself the king, bro...😄
@@misterpatina Na okay. Sorry!!! Btw did you noticed, that mymechanics commented too? 😁
@@misterpatina If u get MM checking out your videos, u gotta be doing something right.. If i see another one of your videos done to this level of restoration, I'm going to subscribe..Consider yourself warned.Where r u located?
"let's make fireworks for you" 😂😂😂😂 nice job and great sense of humor, I enjoyed each video you make... Greetings from Venezuela 🇻🇪👍🏼
Thanks my friend! Iam glad you like it :-)
Hand cranked grinder’s are my favorite thing. To see people restore!

Very nice work young man👍🏻
Haha, just a small, but still a firework! 🙂
Thanks a lot, sir.
Another beautiful restoration Mr Patina, i'm so glad that you didn't paint it black. Good choice COBBA. 🫡👍
Thanks Shaun!
Uhh look at me. I'm Mister Patina. I have my own color now and I'm doing everything perfect. 😁
I liked the boat scene and laughed when they became submarines.
Awesome once again
Hahaha!! Oh man, had to laugh at this one 😄
Thanks Bro ❤️
The boats, they soon became sunken boats.......boys will be boys. Liked the restoration, wonderful.
You’re so damn right about that. Boys will be boys 🙂
Two submarines or.... the Titanic and Lusitania! I like your videos; just getting to some of the older ones.
Now you have a one-of-a-kind grinder. And that is because they never left the factory looking that nice... Thumbs Up!
Thank you so much for your kind words Gary! I really appreciate!
Wow amazing video great work my friend keep it up good luck who enjoy ❤️ this video hit the like 👍
Hey Bro, thanks a lot!
@@misterpatina most welcome bro
Clever fix for the handle screw!
Thanks!
All of these restorations remind me of pet rescue. All these tools had a life of usefulness and now they are brought back for another generation to use and respect. I have become very hooked on these videos. I feel a bolt of guilt when I think of how I miss used some of my old tools.
Good going again, Mister Patina.
Thanks!
Great video, thanks for the little pieces of comedy relief, made the show even better. When you get the missing part show it on a later video. Nicely done, sir very nicely done indeed. Stay safe, mask-up and take care. Texas is watching.
Thank you so much Paul! You’ll see the missing part in a compilation/trailer or something :-)
Thanks, i will, you too! I say goodbye with a „yeeehhaaawww“ to Texas! I’ve been there and loved it! ❤️
Super Saiyan's extraordinary prowess 💪
You are one of a kind or to say the best restoration channel, with a subtitle in every video, which motivates viewers like me to try restoration. Hope for more videos.
Thanks my friend! Good luck!
BEAUTIFULL fireworks
Was für ne geile Karre.
yeeeeaahhhh very very very gooooooooooood job !!!!!!
The best part? THE FIRE WORKS!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!
Haha, thanks Luis! Iam glad you enjoyed!
I think you are the best !
Very nice
I learn some
I like to seeing work like this very
We had one similar on our farm, nearly six decades ago.
My grandfather had one like this to sharpen his drills. And on a similar manual drill, in the summer cottage out in the Stockholm archipelago there was no power.
I still remember the smell of kerosene to the lights in the evening
👍 Carsten
I feel you here. I still remember what my grandpas workshop smelled like.
On one of your videos you had to counter sink to get rid of chatter marks. Try a paper towel soaked in water and drill through that. Works well for me
First thing I thought when you pushed the "boats" under was, "You sank my Battleship!" remember that old game? haha
Hi my friend 👋👋👋 awesome restoration 👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥✌🏻🇷🇺
Thanks my friend! 🙂✌️
fantastisch! und die farbe gefaelt mir :)
Dankeschön 🙂
Hi mister Patina beautiful work good job well done I like it thank
Hey Vince! Thank you very much! 🙂👍
I can't believe how perfectly those spare shafts fit
Danke für das Feuerwerk 🧨 🎇 🔥
Sehr gerne 🙂👍
This kind of project is outstanding. Exactly what I'm hoping to see. Neglected devices, restoration using most of the original parts, as much beautification as possible, surf a final test to finish to the project. Great job!
Jeffrey, thanks for your kind words! Iam really glad you enjoyed! :-)
Great color. My favorite color.
Iam glad you like it!
Another great restoration and 100% worth the wait. I promise, keep it up and you’ll be upto 100k in no time. Cheers brother!
Hey Bryson, thank you so much for your motivating words! I really appreciate! ❤️
Thanks for the vid ... and the nice fireworks !
I have to say thanks for watching! You really deserved this firework! :-)
Your success reflects the quality of your wonderful videos! Many RUclipsrs can orient themselves to you, with you everything fits together perfectly! I am a big fan of yours! Keep it up...
Hey Bro, thanks so much for your words! My face turned a little red while reading 😊
Another well wrought restoration sir! The one thought I had for the piece would be a bushing for the stone, to protect the mounting shaft from wear due to slippage over time, assuming this will see regular use. Loving the "signature color", perhaps one day I will have an authentic Mister Patina restoration.
James, thank you so much for your comment! I totally agree for a bushing/sleeve for the shaft. But just like you said, after the final test this grinder is just for displaying and wont be used.
Since my channel grows bigger and bigger, i had the idea of doing some sort of raffle or something like that. So chances increase of getting a project sometime :-)
I think it is a perfect restoration and think it looks better with most of the casting imperfections removed. Having had a few cuts in the past from sharp bits, I,prefer smooth edges!
Well Done !!! perfect result!
Thanks lazy!
I really like that green. Super nice job. I really enjoyed watching. Thanks. It is appreciated.
Congratulations. Cordialement. Hervé
I enjoyed watching this resto ! I like seeing vintage tools being restored and used 🙌🏻
Thanks Derrin!
Since I view these restoration videos as a learning exercise, I must give you an A for effort and work on this one. The amount of work was scary in its completeness. Thanks for the humor, also!
Hey Bruce, iam really glad you enjoyed and hopefully got one or two interesting hints from it :-)
Thanks for watching!
PS: If you got any technical questions, feel free to contact me!
@@misterpatina , I may have some questions on buying US versions of the paints you use. I will enjoy seeing more of what you have done!
Another great video
Thank you
Stay safe
Thank YOU! 🙂
Two OH&S things worth considering:
Kerosine is much better as a degreaser than gasoline and is also much safer to have sitting in the workshop.
Always check old paint for lead content before throwing in the blaster. If it comes back positive, you can use liquid stripper instead.
Otherwise a nice looking restore. It's a pity that the clear coat didn't come out glossier though. Maybe try a different brand next time (or hit it on the buffing wheel with some polishing compound.
Hey David, I will definitely keep your words in mind! I totally agree with the clear coat, in the future I will use just the 2k clear coat. I thought about buffing compounding, but I don’t want to know how this cheap clear coat would’ve react to this. Didn’t want to polish it through 😄
Yesterday I bought a new project, where I will focus on the paint job. I will use a static primer, wet sanding, 24k leaf gold, several coats of clear coat and a nice wet sanding, polishing afterwards 🙂❤️
Thanks again, I really appreciate!
Thanks for the lovely fireworks 🎆 display. As always, beautiful restoration.
Thanks Patricia, youre welcome! :-)
Beautiful work! 9:44 nice touch with the "custom" paint😂
Thanks Bro! Haha yeah, that’s my color 😄

Thanks! Yeah, fireworks! 😄

Çok teşekkür ederim! :-)
Lol idk which one had me more dead: the little hand or the little firework display 😂😂 nicely done
Haha, thanks!
At first I was a little put off by the fact he never talks, just because it's unusual. I'm guessing he may not speak English well enough to be completely comfortable with it. Now, I love it. He puts in comments where it's necessary, but mainly through his actions and gestures uses a Universal language that very few people can do. It's like the old silent movies, or a Mozart string quintette - the point/emotion gets across in a less direct way, but more strongly, and it's much more interesting. And the pace is very relaxing, instead of having someone talking too fast, and making it unpleasant.
I don't care about this grinder so much, but I love the whole "atmosphere" of the videos, it relaxes me. Plus, his Prussian precision and exacting standards are so enjoyable to see in a world that seems to have left them behind.
Great job! Like the color you put on it as well
Enjoyed the video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Hey Man! Thanks so much! The color is really nice, but on the video it does look more saturated than original. But i think both is nice :-)
Thank you very much!

Thank you so much bro! 🙂❤️
Nice work.
Another great restoration.
A thought occurs….. your poor vice looks like it needs a friend, so perhaps that’s a project for a future video? 🙂👍
Hey Steve, I think Theres something coming…🙂
Lovely job! I l really like the color you used - Much better than painting it black like it used to be. First off, you missed your opportunity to convert at least one of those boats into submarines by placing the small parts in it/them. Second, where in the world can I find some punches like yours that don't bend at a 140 degree angle after a dozen or so hits‽ 😆
Also, congrats on the exciting news!
Haha, thanks a lot bro! Yeah i wanted to give it a little bit more color than just black :-) I really thought about transforming the boats into submarines with the small parts, but then i made the small parts in little water mines!!! Oh, those punches come from an other planet, they were specially hardened with cryptonite. I wanted to send you some of them, but they just can be delivered by a special company which is focused on this material. And the company isnt superman.
Thanks Bro!
...complimenti!
Nice, simple, clean restoration. A+!
Thanks Derek! 🙂
Great restoration Mr. patina👍
húc thầy 20/11 sức khỏe và thành công :)

think a power coat would be much better for tools like this - nice job

Excellent work again, I really enjoyed the video.
Iam very glad you enjoyed!
Très belle ouvrage ☺☺☺☺
Merci beaucoup 🙂
Viel Erfolg!
There are proper gunsmithing punches, which allow you to deal with the pins in a much better way.
Thanks for the tip! :-)
Thanks for tuning in! :-)

I love your sense of humor! This was another nice restoration video. I really appreciate your subtitles and I really like how you match up the before and after shots so you see clearly what was done. Green is not my favorite color (blue is!) but since it’s Mister Patina Green, I will say it’s perfect. 💚
