Uuuuuuuuh very nice my friend. I really enjoyed the final tolerances. High quality job, but that's what I know you for. Did I really notice a new sandblasting cabin? You deserve it.
I watched this video today morning and later went to Bulgakov's museum flat in Moscow, with my friends to show them. And I saw there the same iron. That's not a coincidence!
@@misterpatina The museum piece is there mainly to make the atmosphere of the pre WWII everyday life, plus to show people what was used then, just like the other stuff there, so it's a bit rusty and dusty. It's obvious that it wasn't used for a long time, yours is closer to how they were brand new but a lot cleaner and nice-looking than it has ever been :) I guess you can say it's a museum quality if you want to imagine what it was like to have it new. There are two ways I see on the internet: some people restore things and make them as pretty as they've never ever been before even brand new, some are trying to make vintage looking things from brand new ones, trying to make them look as if they were heavily used. No one is making rusty things restored, so they function at their best but then vintage them a bit, so they don't look brand new, instead they look like they were used in the everyday life for some time but weren't forgotten, were taken care of. They have some obvious signs of continuous and recent (!) usage but no signs of rust and crumble as if they weren't used for a long time. I don't know how to explain this idea better :)
One of the things I personally enjoy about restoration videos is metal work on the lathe, making all the rivets and so on. I loved this video but it would have been so great to see all the work that went into the rivets, nails etc. It is immensely satisfying to see those things turned on a lathe. 😊
As always great result. It's easy to forget how much work this amount of detail recording and camera angles are. No one matches your quality of videos so far♥️
Beauty charcoal iron. When the restorations are of old objects, the results are much better. Thank you for recovering and giving them a new life. You get better at your jobs as time goes by.
Hey, I'm a 66 yo man...For rise the temp in those antiques (my dad used to iron very well) you have to swing with the extended arm to put air in the charcoal!! A marvelous restoration job ...well done!! I enjoy your videos..Greetings from Chile!
I've learnt a lot from you. One tip I learnt from others though, when building up a piece with the arc welder, back the work with copper. It doesn't melt and doesn't stick.
It just reminds me to my grandmother when she did ironing with an iron like this. However, she used charcoal to heat it. The smell is good. Thank you, Mister Patina, you did a great restoration to this antique stuff.

What a masterpiece. With every video, your talents shine through in so many different ways. Looking at this iron, I can truly imagine people using it without having to worry about having to reheat it without electricity. You gave this iron a second life after almost 100 years. You're the best. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
One of the coolest restorations in so many ways. The filming, the subject matter, the steps shown for each piece and the preservation of an old piece of Russian history. The end result was a beauty. Great job on all counts. Congrats and thanks for the show!
Lovely job on this antique iron. My great grandmother had something similar to that she used back in the early 1930s. Back when electricity wasn't readily available in the countryside of the southern US.
