I got this antique ratcheting screwdriver and restored it. I started with disassembling, after that i restored every part. I gave the metal parts a new nickel plating and made a new wood handle. After reassembling this ratcheting screwdriver works perfectly fine!
What a brilliant ratchet mechanism!
This Gun is awesome!
Stop watching other peoples videos and get on with some more of your own :)
@@Aleikey It was meant in a humorous way, I'm a fan of both
WOW
Gotta be kinda rewarding for him to get a comment from someone who has done so well in the same field
Ahhhhhhh I knew you would take great care of this wonderful piece of wood, but the result exceeds my expectations. BEAUTIFUL. I'm glad you visited my shop and remember, if you mess up my parts, I will take your lathe 😬
I’ve gotta say, that I had big respect for this piece of wood and I was really happy when the handle was done 🙂
Take the lathe and put it in your shop - you’ll have a new shopmate 😄
Thanks ❤️
@@misterpatina Not only will he take your lathe but he'll also make you deliver it to him 😆
lol
No talking, no music. The coolest ever.
Thanks Shelley!
Insane work. Lovely restoration. Looked brand new. Fantastic.
I don't know why, but this seems like a better kind of ratcheting screwdriver than most modern ones...
Fun fact: if you got this screwdriver in your hands, you feel an immense difference to modern products. So for me, this screwdriver isn’t a tool, it’s Art. And now it’s displayed in my „finished-project-art-room“ 😄
I find it really adorable every time you and Dr Beer mention each other in your videos 😂 anyway, thank you for another fine work. Seeing old tools brought back to life always gives me joy 😆
It was a really cool experience working with him together. It’s a real bromance! 😄
Thank you for watching Anisa! 🙂
@@misterpatina I bet! Haha 😂 Pleasure was mine. Stay safe and keep on making more videos!
@@anisatania4036 oh that day in the workshop was just outstandingly funny
@@NTRprojects And now I really want to see how that went 😂
Beautiful work! I really enjoyed watching the actions of the master! Good luck to your channel!!!!
Thanks man, same for you!
Stunning camerawork.
Another great restoration of another precious tool. Don't tell anyone where you get them. I hope you continue to find more treasures like this. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
Thanks! 🙂
Sinilar to the one my mechanics did. Awesome work on here my guy
Look's liked you have screwed we again with another great restoration friend, it would look great in any toolbox, have a nice day !!!.
Screwdriver with an HK slap. Brilliant
You're getting really good at the editing and introducing subtle comedy. Absolutely love it.
Hey Jeff, thanks! Iam glad you enjoy my work! :-)
You sir are the purest definition of Artist. The detail you put in is 100% perfection.
Iam glad you like it! :-)
Mr Patina, you have excelled yourself. An excellent restoration, but let me tell you why I loved it even more. Taking the screwdriver to pieces was easy to understand, along with the cleaning and reassembly. Perfectly satisfying and dare I say, therapeutic to watch. But something very strange happened at the end. As a 66 year old man, who has enjoyed playing and using tools in my youth, the photos at the end transported me to being aged 7 years old. When a screwdriver became a spaceship. In the photos at the end I saw the most incredible space vehicle that I would have traveled the galaxies in. I would press a button and be instantly at faster-than- light warp speed. Meeting Martians, Venusians and alien creatures. The screw driver was also my ray gun, able to conquer monsters and protect me. For a few moments I was young again. Thank you so much. Dave in Yorkshire England.
Hey Dave, this is one of the most beautiful comments ive ever got. Iam glad I could give you a journey to the past! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, this was a huge motivation! 🙂
An interesting combination of ratchet and screwdriver, the added torque of the ratchet back in the day would have been a good idea. I imagine that this tool would have come with different sizes of flat tip screwdrivers, great find and super restoration. Texas is watching.
Finally someone makes a new one... 😂 I guess we all have heard this phrase and we love it!
Its simply THE phrase when you like this content :D
Beautiful Restoration! Vintage German Tools are well made! Beautiful Designs! Superb Restoration! I am so glad you saved this German Tool!😃👏🏻

Done with care. Awesome. 👍 From Bangladesh.
No school like the old school!
Lovely piece. Well done
I started watching this on my phone but just couldn't stand it. I had to stop and watch it 4K on the big screen! Beautiful work. I could even smell the hot wood shavings when you were turning the oak.
Haha, iam so glad you enjoyed my work in the best quality!
I can tell you, this old oak smelled ways better than other wood! 🙂
Watching you disassemble the driver reminded me of surgery. Yep, you are a bonafide sturgeon. Keep up the good work. Your video's are a pleasure to watch.
Hey Wiley, that’s a cool comparison! Thanks for watching! 🙂
@@misterpatina Do you think there are other bits for the driver such as phillips head?
@@wileycoyotesr8623 I think so, since the bit is changeable. But I guess you won’t find the anymore..
Why did I keep getting 'dentist' vibes all the way through? Maybe it was the surgical skills on display! Excellent yet again.💗
So I Hope you ain’t a patient with a lot of fear 🙂
Thanks Deena! 💕
@@misterpatina I quite enjoy going to the dentist! I know. I'm odd x
Being odd is wonderful 🙂
Cool. Nice job. I enjoyed watching this.
Love the collaboration
This has been a masterclass in renovating a tool under normal circumstances you would dump.
Thanks a lot nick! 🙂
Beautiful job. Darlington, South Carolina USA

I'm really speechless with this restoration. One of the bests restoration videos on RUclips. Impressive Mr. P! 👏👏👏❤️
Hey Bro, thank you very much for your kind words!
Iam glad you enjoyed! ❤️
@@misterpatina I can't believe you've done this
. Either you forgot a space between "I" and "am" making "Iam" or you've just unintentionally made a grave mistake while trying to spell "lamb." Either way I'm terribly disappointed
Excellent museum quality restoration on a rare and obscure tool.
Thanks! 🙂
museum quality restoration? you do know that any museum would rather have it in the condition before the restoration, to be able to show it's history?
someone who collect old tools to use will put a higher value on the restored version.
Awesome restoration, sir! Although, the screw driver is now a work of art to be more displayed than ever used again. It is well worth more than $50! Oh, and nice MP5 remark. You’re absolutely right.
Hey B! Thanks for watching! 🙂
I gave this piece a special place in the display, it’s so beautiful - and will never be sold 🙂
I really like the way you are saying everything in the video, especially 9:17 'Trying to look professional by marking wild spots' hahahaha
Haha, my favorite part! 😄
Thanks for watching!
Exceptional restoration. Making the wooden oak handle was a work of art.
Thanks Jimmy, iam glad you enjoyed! 🙂
Also very true what Mr. Rahman said.
I've watched quite a few restorations, but I believe yours are the very best! Love the attention to detail. Thanks much and I hope you continue to post.

I just bought one of these. Mine doesn't have the markings. Great to see how it works internally.
Mister you are a master. Thank you for uploading.
Thank you for your kind words Jane!
I watched it several times.
How classy and funny ‘le wood’ and le wait a second’ and other jokes are. You mix it perfectly.

The same for you brat!
Spasibo Bolshoye!
You show a great respect for the old tools. Beautiful work!
Thanks Thomas! I definitely do, I think that’s because i try to imagine what these tools have „seen“. How many hands held them? How many screws were screwed with it? You know, there’s a story for every tool 🙂
Wooow, my friend! Exquisite and simply marvelous!
Warm hugs from snowy Moscow, brat!
Oh priviet brat! Spasibo bolshoye! Greets from Frankfurt/Germany! Dosvidonia! 😄🙂✌️

Nickel plating is where its at for a tool finish 😳 looks excellent.
Top job and excellent video Mr P!!
Thanks a lot Bro! 🙂
Awesome Restoration. Maybe you could fabricate additional tips in different sizes and cross-tips too.
Thanks!
That sir is a thing of beauty.
Beautiful work! And I wish I had a ratcheting screw driver like this! Having the ratchet mechanism also be a handle... that would be so helpful.
Felicidades excelente restauracion

I would have loved to see a Cherry or similar red stain or dye used on the wooden handle. Other than that, great restoration. It may even come in handy for disassembling future projects.
That's dope bro, great job on it.

Nice restoration. Only one comment, never run anything that rotates wearing gloves. I learned the hard way. No injury, but it was close. I was very lucky.
Hey John, same here. In my latest videos you can see me not wearing gloves anymore. Thanks for your attention!
