Never forget staying in the holiday homes when i was 6 years old. Im 30 now. Still have the pic off me hanging over the balcony with my mum and dad 😢😢😢 i got goosebumps
There once for a day out. Went twice for community games weekends. 1997 and 1998 . Seems like only yesterday. The greatest weekends ever. Made so many friends. Simpler times.
Ran the 100m in community games. Slipped in the grass at the start but scraped a 4th. The crazy stuff that happened on those weekends is legendary (escaping out of the rooms at night running around wild, few of us getting chased by the security guards, lined up against a wall as if they were going to shoot us, only to let us off with a pat on the back). Brilliant times.
It'd need to be significantly changed to warrant a try. It's so easy to travel abroad now. The issue is return of investment-only a rich person not in it for the money, but for the love of Ireland itself would invest in this now. Not many of those out there. And it would require huge investment.
@@sambee8982 not a chance it will be open again, the money it'd cost to get it back up to any sort of decent spec, and tbh most Irish go abroad now anyway, if mosney was open today I doubt it'd do as good as it did, we have become used to going away to Spain or America not to mention his unreliable the Irish weather is. It'll exist in our memories and nothing more. But good memories we have, my last time here was at homelands ireland 😂
@@Klynch111 Never say never, someone may eventually have the money to revive it; it's been a holding centre for asylum seekers for too long. If Mosney were revived as a holiday centre again, that would be the one place I would love to go abroad to.....
@@sambee8982 it's cost literally millions to upgrade it, they'd need to completly level the whole place, and then rebuild. And with center parcs open, it's more modern. I'll make ya a deal, if it ever does reopen, I'll come back here and post you were right, I was wrong 😂💯👍
I tink in dem days dey were lucky to have d go carts never mind helmets..we were just happy to b der wit d simple life we lived image been anywhere now without Internet......but still we were happy out den

I was a redcoat in Mosney back in 86 I use to hang out with Mick Kearns.
Do ya remember my dad Christopher Burke?
@@truthseeker3530 I can't say I do remember him. What did he do?
He was 1 of the engineers on the bumper cars and rides
@@truthseeker3530 I'd probably know him to see if he was from laytown or drogeda he would have went home and not had a chalet
I loved this place so many happy memories
Bring Mosney back into a holiday centre again, I'm pretty sure that it would be popular again with the domestic holiday trend....
