Bunch of us rented mini bus from Galway for the day. We basically did all our E’s on the way up and we were on it 110% by 1pm. I’ll never forget walking into the 2fm Lush arena at 2pm with Scott Bond & Judge Jules on the decks. The place was rammed full. The energy was like nothing I’ve ever experienced from a crowd or event before. It was raining condensation from the roof, people were climbing the struts, fog horns going off and a constant hum of whistles. We spent the next 12 hours absolutely buzzing, I’ve never hugged and chatted to so many different people completely unified for a day. I tied my top to a railing and came back 12 hours later and it was gone. It was a cold night wandering around the car park topless at 2am on a major come down lol. I might have missed the summer of love but this event and the one in 2000 was mine, like so many of Irish young people at the time. 4 years later I ended up in rehab for drug addiction. Not everyone ends up like this and I’m sure most moved on with their lives but I pushed the envelope too far and it nearly cost me my life. It’s nice to look back and think of these care free days especially when we see the complications of the modern world. I’ve not touched a drink or a drug for nearly 18 years. I still love listening to these Old Skool mixes and will be a raver til i die!!
Can anyone remember your man climbing up the scaffolding and dropping his trousers, John digweed was playing his set. It truly was a great day and night, going up there with my friend from laois, we hadn't a clue what we were in for. All we knew it was a place we could be out of it for 12hours. Brilliant
em,.... i dont remember the guy dropping his trousers but i remember the guy wrapping a Mitzi flag around him up there and security trying to get him down. i married him 14 years later truth be told!

Still looking at this after 20 years! I was 17, never did drugs just stayed in redbox arena up the front cause im a techno hound! Only left to see orbital in the home arena! Laurent Gariner played crispy bacon (never heard it before that day) & the crowd were screaming so loud for the kick in, i couldnt hear the music & i was up the front! I remember leaving when it was all over & the D&B arena was still going, so we popped in & it was mental craic! See myself in this vid about 5 times! Still the best day out i ever had, better than creamfields, the 2nd homelands, witnness or any of them! Miss these days!
Best day of my life who cares what gangsters funded the project all parts of Ireland came together and had the craic mitsubishi style. The rain didn't matter . All of us that were there were part of a moment in time. To everyone there that day sending X peace
Its always been good, cant get stuck, gotta progress, plenty of epic music around still, my collection spans since the 70's, kraftwerk etc.. i even have minimal techno that was made back in the 60's, right threw until 2019, there has always been fantastic electronic music since it started.....
I just lived in the lush arena that day i eas so outa it i actually went blind and def wen judge jules was playing for about 10 min and me mates slaped me back together it was crazy 🤪
Oh the memories. That was some festival. First dance festival in Ireland and we needed it. Danced my ass off. Nice one for uploading, don't suppose you have it in any better quality?
The Homelands Scotland was empty! 7000 out of 20,000 tickets sold. The thing is, they tried/ hoped to take Rezerections (massive rave promoter) crowd but by then most of them had moved on to underground techno/house of various forms which was on the rise (Pure, Pressure, Slam, Pussy Power, Subclub, Optimo, The Arches)They even tried to hold it on the hallowed Rezerection turf of the royal highland showground in Edinburgh. Only Rezerection packed the showground to 20,000 and sometimes had raves going for 20 hours solid. I guess in Scotland nothing could top Rezerection for a while The folks behind Rezerection went on to organise a festival production company which produces most major music festivals in the UK. Homelands 2000 in Ayrshire faired better though, it was a small 10,000 respectively, but a really good event overall. Most events now are on the decline now as people become addicted the phone technology and that changed the dynamic on the dance floor; not allowing your mind, feelings and thoughts merge into the atmosphere happening around you. It's not special anymore; there is no one absorbing unified atmosphere; people stand in their own cell of space...You know where this conversation goes so I don't have to write anymore examples. Have a nice day!
im connected to youtube years and i just noticed there a second ago that ive an inbox, only last week one was trown into my gob as i we where having a game of cards, green pills, la coste logo, impressive! all ill say it was the best game of cards ive ever had

Yeah a long time before, it was an epic day. This and homelands 2000, so glad can say I was at them, especially the first one. Although going back to the phones, it'd be nice to go back and relive it again, 😂
I know - went on shazam and everything. Thanks for posting this up. Miss those DJs - best concert for me was Mr Spring in GPO club when I was 19. Am a teacher today - pity my own students won't experience good old skool DJs playing at brilliant concerts like here :(
GPO in Galway? That was my home on Friday night for about 3 years, '99 till I left for NYC in 2001, worshipping at the altar of DJ Ted! First yoke there to Grooverider, still one of the best nights of my life. I probably would have been the same age at the time and saw Mr Spring too, did he play more than once? Best night ever in the GPO hands down was when that wanker Dave Holmes came down, we were all over the moon someone like him was playing in our humble club but he decided to play a 60's soul set, so pretty much the entire club moved over to the Drum to watch Ted play one of the most bangin' sets I've ever seen, legend!
+bonzobanzi11 yip, GPO in my home turf of Galway. Don't drink or do drugs so music in the club was my 'yoke' even though people thought was off my head going crazy dancing with bottle of water in my hand haha! God "The Drum" - great memories there too! Mr Spring def played good few times in The GPO - really miss these DJs. Can't believe it's nearly over 16 years since these DJs were at their height in clubs in Ireland!!!
you still get the good ones too ,not in ireland ,its the price difference really ,in a bar in holland before winter dance vally the same ones u get in ireland they only wanted 30 euro for 100.,proper e's then were 5 they wanted 10 euro for 1,we took 1 each; already awake 4 days so thought we'd last only hour or two,i was still flying of it in the morning, what a buzz .
