Seeing you write NOPE all over the first try almost gave me a heart attack! 😅 Hahaha you’ve got guts! It’s not easy to scrap something and start over! But seeing the end result it was definitely worth it! ❤❤ me encantó el resultado!
Muchas gracias!!
YOU ARE SOOOOO TALENTED!
Ur drawing is amazing ❤❤❤
Same; if I could paint something that amazing I'd be leaping for joy, lol.
Oil pastels are the most difficult medium I’ve ever used, so I’m surprised to see what you’re able to do with them! Subscribed
Thank you so much! 😊 I can’t agree more, they are the trickiest medium I’ve ever tried but I promise that I also struggle with it sometimes
Exactly 💯
The yellow lights on her jawline and the highlight just making her beautiful ❤️ and stuning and aesthetic ❤ i'm totally in love with this
Okay --you my friend, are the best portrait artist I've seen with oil pastels! Bravo!
That’s so nice of you to say ❤️ thank you!
It's evident that you put a lot of time and effort into your art. The results are absolutely worth it. Bravo!
Thank you very much!
Once again you have rendered me speechless on your talent!!! So smooth and beautiful technique.
Wow, thank you so much! ♥️
Exactly ❤❤
That was amazing!!! I can't wait to watch more of your videos! I really want to hear more about your technique.
Thank you so much! ❤️ I’m keeping my tutorials on Patreon but I’ll bring more videos like this here too
I’m looking forward to your next detailed video! This one was beautiful. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much! ♥ I’m glad that you enjoyed it
The smoothness you achieve is incredible. I look forward to more of your videos!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it ☺️
Here's a fact. Gallery mungyo oil pastels work best on canvas. And sennelier most on smooth bright even surface wood panels.
Already tested. Have both. Based on results
Ur first try reminds me on how I work I'm so happy I'm not the only one that writes no or nope on my drawings or paintings 😂 I love you're work ur so talented 💓
Hahaha there are more people like us doing it it seems 🤭 it’s going straight to the bin so it really doesn’t matter. Thank you! ❤️
This is beautiful! There are lots of things to learn from this tutorial. ♥ Thank you for sharing this
oil pastels really aren't easy to deal with, since it's dense, soft and messy to use sometimes.
But you? Literally amazing!!
you've got skills, best portrait artist using oil pastels!
Thank you so much! They are tricky to use, specially because of how messy they are, I have to be pretty careful while painting
I love this! It amazing what you can do with oil pastels 😮😊. For me I don’t like blending with my figures, it’s uncomfortable. I blend using colour shaper’s . They have a silicone tip. The tips come in different shapes and sizes. I love them. 😊 your transitions are beautiful.
Thank you! ❤️ I’ve only tried with a pretty small color shaper but it was removing paint instead of placing it, maybe I should try with a large one 🤔 I find fingers the most convenient but they get really messy
@@YolandaBlazquezjust curious, do you have to clean your fingers off every time you blend an area or do you reserve a different finger for darker areas and lighter areas so you aren’t putting dark/light colors where they don’t belong?
It looks more realistic than any painting😮
I have never seen oil pastels look so soft and well blended. I used to hate oil pastels. This video changed my view. I mainly did watercolor and acrylics but after finishing my current actylic painting, i’ll start my first ever big oil pastel project
Good luck on your painting! I believe you can achieve great results with any medium but oil pastels are a bit tricky and it takes some time
@@YolandaBlazquez yes, you make it look easy! And that is what i call talent :)
@@Lampey22 it’s only practice 😊 anybody can do it
Your oil pastels are Outstanding. You know that medium is considered the hardest. 😊
Oh thank you! ❤️ I found them to be the trickiest at first but after a while you realize they aren’t that different to other mediums.
Wow she looks so real. Great job
Thank you! 😊
Thank you very much!
You rub the pastels with your fingers, or do you wash your hands after each color so as not to stain the light tones, or is it enough to wipe your fingers with, for example, a paper towel. I love your art. 😍
I only wipe my fingers with a paper towel, that’s enough ☺ thank you!
@@YolandaBlazquezI see someone already asked my question and you answered it!
Your work is impressive! Thank you for creating this video and I'm looking forward to the next ones 😍
Thank you for being here 😊 I’m glad that you enjoyed it
Wow, that is amazing 👏👏👏 You are so talented 😍 You should have 3 million subscribers.
Thank you so much 🥹❤️ I appreciate it
Hey your oil pastel paintings are superb. I really appreciate this superb work. I'll try this. Love from India 🎉🎉❤
Thank you so much! 🥰 have a nice day
Wow. What an incredibly beautiful work of art. I never could get a handle on pastels. I lack the requisite patience lol.
You also have a very melodious, very soothing voice.
I tend to watch the art channels of artists who show as much of the process as possible. I don't like videos that are too sped up. It is necessary for works that take hours or days to complete, which I'm fine with. But the ones that put it on hyper speed actually make me nauseous. I love when artists interact. I love when they include music.
I would definitely be interested to watch any videos that you care to post!
Thank you so much Elisa! ❤️ I’m very glad that you enjoyed it and thank you for the feedback. since I began recording my voice I became quite self conscious and cringe at myself badly while editing haha
I feel the same way about super fast pace videos, they almost give me anxiety. It’s a dilemma because lots of people nowadays prefer very short length content. I’m still debating about the one for this Sunday 😅
There’s a reason they do it. A lot of these artists make a living, not by selling their work, but by teaching it through Patreon or other self-guided platforms. If they made real time content, they’re in essence giving away their techniques free. Can’t fault them for trying to make a living. I agree there are better editing choices than making people nauseous with ultra speed, like Yolanda who cut her footage into bite-sized sequences of the most important phases, but it is extremely difficult to keep hours of work into shareable video files with a low file-size.
@@sadepennbrook that’s very right 🙏🏻 There’s also a difference approach depending on the platform, in RUclips most people want to be entertained while on Patreon they go to support you and to learn. I recently opened a Patreon account and have been sharing there everything, just today I posted a real time almost two hours long video tutorial. It takes a looong time an it really is work, we all have to pay bills.
it is so beautiful & perfect, weldone
Thanks a lot! Happy that you like it ❤️
Hi, you are marvelous you make such deep skin tones you are the artist 😊
Thank you so much 😊
Very nice 👌 portrait of oil pastel colour 👍❤️ thanks . Good morning 🌅 of all guys 😊 .
Thank you ! ☺️ have a nice day
11:01 That hair moved like it's real😮😮😮
Hmmmm.... There is also a beauty in finishing something you are not so comfortable with :) . I get what happened and I know the frustration , I have done the same thing quite few times , but if you went for it - you would learn so much and also discovered few things on the way . We would also enjoy and learn trough your pain and persistence :) . And I am sure the result would be beautiful , maybe not in the same way you are used to , but surely this would have been beauty ! :))))))) Having said that , you are doing so well and thank you for sharing !!! Beautiful work !!! :))))))))
Unbelievable ❤
Beautiful work
Thank you ❤️
Thank you for this video! I usually use soft pastels and pastel pencils but you have inspired me to try oil pastels, I have the same brand. I also found really rough paper is hard to blend and get details for all pastels period
Thank you Melissa! ❤️ I hope you give them a try, they are really nice and not that different. I only miss having something like pastel pencils to use with them.
I’m also not looking forward to trying that textured paper again, good to know it behaves the same with soft pastels.
I love it! Amazing 🥰✨😍
I'm glad you like it🥰
Wow! Incredible!
Thank you! 😊❤️
It was enjoyable. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Qué barbaridad!!! Es precioso, Yolanda 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
¡Muchísimas gracias! 🙏🏻
Wow perfectly nailed it.. masterpiece that skin texture is perfectly smooth.
👏💘💘
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️
Oh, I just had to subscribe. So beautiful, your artwork!
Thanks for subbing!❤️
The first try is also beautiful❤❤....
Thank you 🥰 I didn’t want to continue it because of the paper
Me encantan los tonos piel que conseguiste! Felicitaciones!
So beautifull❤
Thank you ❤️❤️
Beautiful!
This is so satifying!
I’m glad that you liked it ☺️
This Is stunning
Thank you so much 😊
Beautiful sometimes I really wonder how can you make such realistic portrait.
Thanks a lot!
Wow, great painting art
Thank you! ❤️
beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Lol omg I do the same thing with my drawings lol. I write on them if I’m messing up or just completely destroy it and start again lol funny to see you do that;) totally get where your coming from
Tho;) some times it best to just do what you know with what works best, but it’s awesome to try new things and push yourself!
Exactly! It took me a while to understand when to quit and start over and when to push. Glad to know I’m not the only one “ruining" them when they don’t work ☺️
My Goshh! Amazing your drawing !!
Thank you so much 😊

Yes pleasee tutorials
Sei bravissima, complimenti 🤗
Thanks for sharing this wonderful artwork of yours the blending was such an amazing the way you smudge it, i do this along time ago but i stop...Now im inspired...may i ask what is the suitable material to used? ❤
Thank you! ❤️ I write the materials that I use in the description box, I also have a video comparing different brands of oil pastels too
I would like to see you use these pastels painting an old person with a lot of wrinkles and a man with a beard. I enjoy watching your painting process 😊 may I ask how long does it take you to do these portraits.
Great suggestion! Thank you! Also some animals could be interesting. As for the length it really depends, from a couple of hours to quite a few more haha I never count it tbh, I stop when they are done
Soo amazingly beautiful, you have a new subscriber here!🤩🤩🤩

What paper do u draw on with these pastels
beautiful
Thank you ☺️
This is lovely, thank you! How many oil pastels should I have to achieve a similar result? I would appeeciate any tips before I go off and buy some 😊
Thank you! 🙂 I don’t tend to use many per painting, it depends on your needs, maybe a small general set plus a few more specific open stock. I buy them all open stock anyway because I know the kind of colors that I like to use
Thank you for your reply! It's good to know that mixing is possible (I'm frustrated with my neocolor ii wax pastels because I can't get the right colors). I think I may buy a set of 48 by Mungyo and then supply with individual Sennelier. I look forward to more of your videos 😊
@@colourmequaint9690 you’re welcome ☺ as far as I know Neocolor don’t blend well at all although I only have three and haven’t tried them much. Mungyos are great and blend easily
@@YolandaBlazquez thank you ❤️
Gracias! Papel de vidrio y a veces spray fijador
Beautiful 😍 😊❤
Thanks 🤗
is the sennelier's portrait oil pastel set?
Eres la ley🖤🔥
Impressive portrait from the side! I love the realism in this tutorialm because I'm about improving my style of making realistic portraits with paint, colored pencils and oil pastels. What's the brand of the pastels and the names of each color for the face, hair and neck?
Glad it was helpful! I painted this with Sennelier oil pastels but have no idea about the individual colors though, I never pay attention to that… I simply pick the shade that is more fitting at the moment
Thanks! Nice!
I’ve tried oil pastels before, but never knew what to use for a canvas. I’ve used oil pastels to also fix my paintings. I’ll will buy the proper media and try them again
Waaaahhhh
beautiful!
Thanks a lot!

A little bit 😊
Can I buy that?
Super art madam, But Which chart paper use for this artworks with pastel colours
Thank you 😊 I use Pastelmat
Hello. Do you blend the colors from light to dark or the other way around?
I go back and forth but I often put my darkest values first and then I jump around
Is there a certain amount of layers you can add? Love your artwork. Are you self taught?
Yes, I just started using them very recently 🙂 I think the amount of layering depends on the oil pastels that you are using (Sennelier allows for quite a bit of it, I would say the most) and the paper. Using Sennelier + Pastelmat I haven’t had any issues with that. If you see there’s too much buildup and you want to correct something you can easily scrape paint off using a palette knife or an xacto knife.
@@YolandaBlazquez You are so kind. To share your talent is amazing. Thank you so much. Continue to create beautiful works of art. :)
@@kimbearlysoriginal4276 thanks a lot ❤ I enjoy the sharing aspect
I love it😍 What about the details... do you temper pastels for this?
Thank you 🥰 no, I try to keep a point on them and I also help myself with a paper stump when I need it, although I barely used them for this portrait. I’ll make a video about detailing
