I rarely follow the rituals but i respect the rituals. Only coz of rituals the people feels happy and united. And in this video i feel blessed while embracing all the marriage rituals. I am almost familiar with indian's rituals coz i am living in india but now its time to explore my own culture rituals. Hope that day will come soon.✌
You are welcome in Gurung family. Hope you find your Mr Gurung. Good luck baini. But, it is important to pass gurung culture and traditions to future generations. Sadly, there are some gurungs who don't like their own culture and embrace others. Thank you for loving gurung culture. We need to save our Gurung culture. Jai Nepal.
This is amazing. The cameraman seems to find the pretty ladies among the crowd. Few things I caught out: 1. May i correct u sweet speaker, the ornaments shown in 8:26 is not some. That is 18 tola minimum for a hamel. 2. Reminds me of the sleepless night doing what a guy is doing at 9:00. 3. 10:49 I can't wait for that moment in my life.
@Amir thapa magar....always magar people said Gurung & Magar culture are same but it's not. Totally different, magar culture is similar to chhettri & bahun whereas Gurung doesn't.
Some viewers comments why bride is looking sad mad or angry. In traditional arrange marriage especially in rural background bride often behave this way. One she was leaving her parent house where she was born n brought up all this year. It's a very emotional moment for her. second she has apprehension of starting new life In her in laws house. unlike modern culture where where boys n girls goes to school college and started having fling. so they are more familiar n comfortable. its lovely traditional gurung wedding. Beautiful. Keep it up 👍
In Villages, the same marriage ritual ceremony is still being practiced but in city area, it’s much different than that of village. People go to party palace, give blessings to the bride and groom , dance and eat food their , it’s an end of marriage. Marriage in village is more interesting than marriage in city .
Could you please change the background music ? The video is all about happiest moments and memories but the music potrays somehow struggling and normal daily lives ,don’t you think so ??????!!!!!!!!!!
Even in a deep Gurung village like Siklesh, we can clearly see the influence of Hinduism. What has happened to this tribe is a warning to all the tribes around the world. This is what happens when you cannot protect your language, culture and tradition, you are forced to adopt the foreign culture and tradition but at least the Gurungseni bride is not wearing a red sari.
@Heph Bes this is so true. thanks for informing the people of Nepal. Magar Gurung Rai Limbu people are the bravest of the braves. they are known as Gurkhas in the British army and Indian army. Magar Gurung Rai Limbu people have our own language and culture. This is why we Magar Gurung Rai Limbu are proud people.
Dev Rasailee of course there’s some influence. You can’t deny that. Our culture is very much fusion , kind of mix . You think it’s reality because you haven’t observed the typical gurung marriage. It’s quite different. I also accept that there’s no such thing as pure or typical culture or race in today’s global world. We adopt each other’s culture or traditions especially of the dominant people. Here groom wears suit pants instead of typical gurung costume and n bride 👰 too. This is an example of influence or adoption. My suggestion to you is please don’t call anybody Christian randomly who wants to save the subculture of Nepal. Sub culture is also a national treasure of any nation. Regards
First of all, I am not your friend, second, don't think you are the only one who knows about reality, you don't own reality nor you seem to be aware about the reality. There are people who know more about these things than you do, so, stop acting like you know about everything coz you don't. Whether it's a Hindu from India or Nepal or USA their marriage may have a little difference but overall it's the same. This is not only in a Hindu marriage but also in other religion like in Islam or Christianity, a Korean Christian gets married the same way as the American Christian. Culture and custom may differ from place to place, but religion doesn't have any borders and any person who follows a religion has at least some of its effects on his custom and culture. Whatever you have seen in the video is not fully Gurung custom and culture, they have tried but still there have been some Hindu influences in their marriage. Now, just because I said that there is some Hindu influence in the marriage, you saw me as a Christian and a bideshiko dalal. The problem is not with me but with you, the problem is with the way you think. You think everyone is trying to get you, you think everyone is trying to destroy your religion but the truth is nobody cares about your religion, these tribal people just want to protect their culture. If in this video these Gurung couple had married in Christian culture I would have talked about Christian influence in their marriage but they have not.You need to get rid off that Hindu chasma that you have worn, get rid off that and maybe you will see the world clearly. Get united with your Hindu brethren but know this that Nepal is not a Hindu country, there are different tribal people living here who have their own culture, their own custom, their own religion, their own language.
@@hephbes2045 what are your suggestions to our gurung people, that they won't be influenced by anything or anyone. how do you achieve that in this day and age. reality is everyone influences everyone in country like nepal where there are 100s of indegenous groups and sub-groups, you are bound to have a neighbours someone different than you. you will have to interact with them.no matter how hard you try to avoid it. having said that we all have to work hard to save all the languages, traditions, religions, rituals etc of all nepalis because that's what makes us unique. but hatred don't get you anywhere.
What is the reason behind applying holi( aabir) in groom's face and putting sindur its not pure gurung culture and tradition its a traditional adaptation and mixed up culture hence am also belong to gurung community and sometimes i feel ashamed bcs some people from gurung community fighting and arguing each other and claims our religion and tradition is based on bon and Buddhism but in daily lifestyle all are following hinduism
here we can see that gurung is a combination of various cultures- from bon culture to Buddhist culture and from Hindu culture to western culture. nevertheless it is quite obvious that they are from tibetan racial stock adapted in Nepali language.
