Love somewhat ratty builds like this. I bought a clutch off of you guys for my '97 Cobra back in early 2011 and you had a Shelby drag car with bullet holes sitting in the showroom. I always wondered what ever happened with that car and what was the backstory? It looked like it was pulled out of a field and you guys were really busy at the time, so I didn't get a chance to ask.
CJ Pony Parts please don’t put the impact sounds nobody cares if u cuss
With 4-5 hundred hp you drove that thing like Mrs. Daisy was your passenger
If you're going to test drive a twin turbo vehicle, then drive it. A little cruise down the road is not entertaining or informative.
Finally a proper sleeper. No loud exhaust or bigass tires.
Yup! Thanks for watching, make sure you subscribe!
Thank you

I don't mind spending money on her I have my own tree trimming, junk hauling, privacy fence, furniture moving, material hauling, and other services business she will bring me thousands on thousands eventually millions with only 170,000 I seen a truck like mine with the 6.0 V8 vortec same engine with 390,000 and still kicking strong!!!
Texas is My Home I have a 2004 8.1 3500 single rear wheel with 240k miles runs great, but my 89 d250 cummins runs hell of a lot better
“I don’t feel safe but this is a lot of fun!” That’s what life is about. I got a 95 and I hope to get it to that level of disarray!
Man just watching you drive this old Ford makes me realize I want another one. I've had about 6 or 7 old fords and I think it's time for another one
I 💯 agree

That 5 speed is NOT going to handle the power that truck makes. It’s sweet, totally my style, ratty old truck with a bunch of broken stuff that goes really fast
How do you know? Could be a built t5 for all you know ....
correct after the 2nd video of the truck the trans died in it
Bar none this is the best CJ's video ever , I know we all love our Mustang , I have a couple myself , but this was a really great video , amazing job as always Bill
I love it. So unsuspecting. Makes me want to buy up an old Ford truck and do some magic in the drive line.
The EFI badge on the front is false advertisement lol
My45ToYourThroat lol. He actually had a FiTech system on it for awhile but likes the carb better

Well it technically has electronic fuel injection

dont need a tach, just listen to the pitch of the p/s whine.
The sound quality is really good on this video.
One half reminds me of riding in a friends Supra; the other half reminds me of riding in my dad's old truck.
This makes me miss my old truck. I had a '89 single cab short bed with a 5.0 and an AOD. It wasn't fast and leaked a little oil, but it was a great truck. Shouldn't have sold it.
I have an '89 single cab long bed F-250 with 5.0 and AOD. It has at least 250K, maybe 350K or 450K miles on it. I've personally seen the ODO roll over twice in 10 years. I daily it, tow with it, haul a Lance camper with it, you name it. And it still passes smog in CA.
You shouldn't have sold yours, I'll definitely never sell mine.
Heck yea! I got a 87 single cab, short hed. 5.0 with a true 4 speed. No overdrive. Slow as a slug but reliable as hell!
I have a 89 single cab long bed with the 4.9l and the 5 speed Mazda tranny. Same color in and out like the video. Love it and it's strong still
ClawRyder my old man has a 89 bronco 5.0 AOD with at least 170k maybe 270, or 370k miles on it, he then bought me a 05 Jeep and all my friends think the jeep is cooler, I still know what I want and it’s either an old pickup or that old bronco and he’s fine with that
Got my hands on a '91 with the 5.0 and the mazda stick shift transmission. It's got a 4.10 final drive and factory limited slip rear end. With some fresh bilstein shocks and a set of 31x10.50 all terrain tires on it now, it'll crawl anywhere up in the mountains. I fully plan to keep this truck forever.
Sick truck that needs to be the next project for the channel
Cool, I’m a tree guy who desperately needed a truck for the recent storms here in Illinois. I was reluctantly putting my 90 d350 Cummins back together earlier than I wanted to when I realized that the replacement 14cm hot side I had bought over a month ago was a 16. So I pushed off that project and today bought a extremely clean patina’d Blue (faded to baby blue) 86 302 4 speed f250 4x4 w 10.25 rear and steel flatbed. The long block was swapped out 4K miles ago. Original owner 89,000 miles from Montana. Dumped some Au at the pawn and scooped for $3700 and I will be installing twins to assist with towing the goose neck dump trailer.
The custom badge is correct....anyone laughing saying oh pos hey make a better truck. Hats off to the man who made it gotta a lot to learn but all the best. Your heart and ideas will make a beast
Thank you very much @matt Bundy this truck is awesome
I cant hear you the fuel pump is to loud
Sounds like that fuel pump will boil half a tank of gas in 20 minutes.
That aint the fuel pump, thats the hvac fan lol.
Guess you've never rode in the bed of a 87-91 F150 with a camper shell. Cause the OEM fuel pump is NOT quiet.
The fuel pumps on all these trucks are loud. I don’t know why they just are
Jeremy Bowers not really that I’m aware of but I think the mustangs had a different firing order.. I could be wrong on that. It’s now hard to pull the engine out. I just pulled one out of a 96 recently. Just dont waste your time, and pull the front clip off. The only real issue I can think of is body control computers and the high pressure fuel pump versus the old in tank pick up/mechanical pump
I had an 81 square body Chevy with a 350/350 one 76mm Ebay turbo and it was such a fun truck, I regret selling it everyday but had a kid and needed a family vehicle. 2001 4.3L Jimmy life for now lol

450HP? 2 turbos and thats all its cranking out. $ wasted. My Stock dodge is 395hp with no turbo lol
Those old fords have vertical splines to hold the shift knob on .
After a few years it started coming off .
I poured a whole tube of super glue in the knob .
Now it only comes off when I want it to .
I cut the splines off mine and grounded the stick down to a smaller diameter to thread it out with a die and screw in a Hurst shifter
Homemade Lightning, pretty awesome! I help my dad overhaul & now maintain his 85 F150 XLT Lariat single cab with a long bed that was originally my grandads, I'm surprised that the cruise control still works.
I have a 1991 F-150 XLT Lariat extended cab short bed with a fuel injected 5.0 that has well over 500,000 miles on it . Engine has never been out of the truck , the auto overdrive was replaced at 200,00 miles . Has never smoked & uses no oil to speak of due to the factory installed forged pistons . Shorty headers with true duals and Cherry Bomb glass pacs , an MSD ignition . I must admit , I beat on this ole truck every time someone challenges me . Fords little 302 5.0 is a MARVELOUS ENGINE !!
Miss my 88. I had a straight 6 in it 5 speed. Top speed was a shaky 75 mph but holy shit it would bolt off the line and beat a lot of cars in a 100 foot race lol after that it was toast. With the doors closed, a soda on the passenger floor may, or may not fall under the door and out of the truck due to rust holes. Lost a few floor mats that way. The liner on the ceiling was missing and my daughter learned the hard way not to wipe it with fingers and let it fall into eyes. Cried for like an hour. Never looked up while driving after that. Dual gas tank, but don't know what was sloshing in the front so only had rear use. Good times. Now have a 2016 and hate the payments, love the upgrade.
Awesome build. Love that body style. Defiently one of the toughest trucks Ford built.

read up on 1980 ford frame, they were an exception
My dad has one of those 88 F150s he has had in the garage since 1991 but uses his 1992 F150.
I do not usually like too work on trucks as projects, but the video has been a good inspiration👍
Love to see more stuff like this. Not every body has money for the great stuff
In the future, mount your phone on the dash and open the Waze app. It shows your real time speed, even if you don’t have a route going.

Cool, truck I like the whole concept and its quiet. Definitely raw build
Great video! Keep these coming:)
Last generation of the steel body f series pickup she is most definitely solid
Love this build. Kudos for doing it yourself and your way!
Thank you
This is awesome. I just got an 85 F250 and I love the damn thing. 92k miles on her. Love driving it.
awesome dude are you going to do anything to your engine
Brendan Dougherty no probably not to be honest. I’m a simplistic guy I just love having a badass truck as it was intended. The straight 6 in her will run for a while I hear haha

Thats awesome! Thanks for watching make sure you subscribe!
Hi Bill! You look like you were having to much fun. Keep up the good work.
Dammit. I was going to build the first sleeper bricknose but you guys beat me to it. Congratulations!
Lol thank you
Back in the ‘90s there were a few 5.0 engines that had ported and polished E7 heads with bigger valves that made 300hp to the wheels. You can make E7 heads flow.
Awesome build!!
Thank you
I love this truck. I’m trying to get my dad’s old 93 F150 that I grew up in so I can turn it into something like this.
I have 93 f150 2wd extended cab ...it had a 302 originally with a massive 5 speed auto ...now it has a 351 windsor that came out of a boat... I added a mild cam , edelbrock intake and edelbrock 650 carb .... Its hooked up to a c4 trans... the truck exhaust wise is running stainless tri y headers and glasspacks ...the truck runs ok im guessing it has around 300 hp...fun to drive and a cool daily driver
I love it when people think outside the box, or in this case outside the bed lol. Nice ride👍👍👍
We do too! Thank you!
Great video Bill!
Used to have a 95 f150, 302, 4x4, 4 speed auto w/ OD, and I drove it to death. Not an easy feat, but neither is surviving being a teens first vehicle. Now have an 85 F150, 300 I6, 3 speed auto, 2wd, fire engine red and build like a tank, and (with enough weight in the rear) would pull one, too. Love these old trucks.
They are great trucks! Thanks for watching, please subscribe :)
Thank you for showing an actual sleeper. That PN with the Grenada qualifies too, and both are 8.2 Windsor builds. This one on iron heads, that's crazy really. On a carb. With no tach. Great sleeper.
I like the fact it’s a long bed and it was made from spare parts . Great vid

The fact it's using an M5OD is the most incredible aspect.
It drives great with it

Turbo that inline 6. You can't kill it anyway🤘🤘🤘
I am. Fully built as I can get, stand alone efi and 76mm turbo. Truck is being built for mud and street driving. Getting 22 inches of lift and 48 in tall tires
@@dylanrice6707 thats a joke right?
I think bullnose looks better the
Trebuer22 nope it's not a joke it will be getting 22 inches of lift and 48s. Starting off with 10in lift and 40s after college then getting the 22in lift and 48s when the 40s get boring
Even sounds like an "old man" truck haha. It would take anybody by surprise.
Makes me miss my 85, It was flat black, wide black wheels, side outlet glass pack exhaust. It wasnt pretty but was tough as nails. We were coming down the highway with that EFI 5.0 wound tight, the speedo stopped at 85, but managed to bury it all the way back down to the D on the dash. 😂 still no clue how fast we were going, but it wasnt a smart move in a truck that old.
I've had my 85 f250 with 460 so fast I stripped the speedo gears 😂
i love it id totally rock that thing
Can confirm after having a '91 Flareside that if you can keep a shifter knob on, you've probably sold you soul to the Devil or something like that... 😂
I like that truck. Reminds me of an 82 f150 i had. I have a 99 5.0 explorer 2wd now and It's surprisingly quick and a great sleeper cuz nobody sees it coming from a plain white explorer.
BadAss build! The fact that its a stick is even better!!

jims garage same, it looks way better than the ugly 98 redesign
These are the trucks people need up north. Imagine making a big deal
My dad had a 89 xlt when i was a kid. It was grey with blue 2 tone, single cab, long bed, and had a camper shell that matched the 2 tone. I loved it but my parents traded it in in late 99 for a (then new) gmc sierra. Nowadays he has a 2010 f250 that he calls his "retirement truck" lol.
Love the damn thing the bricknose fords are my favorite never seen one like this lol good job on it

That truck would be sick all done up the right way
Holly it is done the right way FUN . It's just simple truck that I enjoy having fun with.
I like these kind of vids and build your own affordable hot sleeper hot rods - especially trucks. I'd probably fix those little things like gauges and shift knob... and oh yeah what was with that grinding noise...? At first I thought that was some kind of special effect but maybe not. LOL
Stock trans not meant for anything like this lol
Sound effect sounds like an air impact wrench

I own a 88 f150 4x4 short bed. I have been on the fence about selling it. Came with no motor I put in a carbed 302 but never plumbed it. I do have a efi 351 and a 300 inline six that sets in a 82 bronco with a four speed (it beat up and rusted all to hell). Maybe one day I'll get off my ass and get it running.
I love that the only visual cues to this being anything other than a crappy beater is the wide rear tires. Amazingly quiet too!
I have the same truck but mine is a 91 XLT with a 351 w and a C6 transmission, love my truck.

Wayne Hardy well I’ve got a 94 with a 351 and she’s not feeling real happy at the moment. Whiplash , The # 1 auto accident related injury of all time . First look at that truck and I think to myself how in the hell , even in 1988 ! G.M. could still sell cars and trucks that didn't even have a head rest to keep the peoples heads from busting out the back glass ! Let alone help to keep them from getting a neck injury ! It just looks crazy to see a bench seat like that now days .
This reminds me of my 03 Silverado . Straight up looks like Grandpa's truck but with a 76 mm turbo .
That is freaking sweet! I hate the syncros on those older five speeds though😕.

This was awesome. Dude was funny af. I had an 83 Datsun 2wd pickup Z20 with a custom Fab intake, an Edelbrock 1405 carb, welded up 3.70 rear end and a mild cam, I think it was a Web grind I don't know and that little turd would roll for a 4 banger shitbox. Removed the linkage from the secondaries, played around with the metering rods, springs and jets and had the little t.box running pretty good for what it was, a polished turd
