I got a 89 bronco, had it for 7 years. It’s great. Might pick up a 89 f250 tomorrow. Way better than chevys. More reliable, better frame. Everything else is just a bonus.
My grandpa had one. I LOVED that truck. On long trips, he used to put the enclosure thing on the back and a mattress so my cousins and I could sleep and relax.
Bronco has a large rear tank, in the f150, this isnt possible without making the spare unable to tuck under, the f series has a longer frame with unused space inside the frame rail. If you wanted to, you can swap a bronco tank in the rear of the f150 by modifying the frame with an extra crossmember and a hardware, I believe the fuel filler is able to be used on the rear door I THINK. Could be wrong there, but its still easy to make work. It was just about getting features out there without compromises, and having a spare is a good thing, having a spare unlocked in your bed or locked to the wall of the bed takes away cargo room, so there were compromises in simplicty to fuel system. Nowadays, auxillary tanks are piped toeachother pump into eachother, and the primary tank pumps to the engine, so to keep it from the reliability issues of the f series 2 tank and only having to fill the one tank (the auxillary tank is filled with returned gas)
Miss those simple reliable trucks

16:07 1987 was the last year for those generation Chevy & GMC half ton & three quarter ton regular cab pickups.
Retro Video Archive is this all the Ford ‘89 videos you have?
Wait you telling me the dual gas tank truck only holds 1.2gallons more than my bronco? Why does my bronco have a 36 gallon tank? It’s $200 to fill up.
