Hey, did anyone else here have condensation build-up inside the watch-face glass? and/or have the watch-face e-ink display fade to almost all white? I'd like to know if I'm alone on this one. Thanks people.
Great question! I'm sorry to hear your watch display is so faded :( I did experience some condensation on my watch-you can see it in my Fossil Q&A video here: ruclips.net/video/fbjFofNGHks/видео.html (it's at the 0:30 mark)-but I haven't experienced any fading on the display or anything like that. Did you try contacting Fossil for a replacement or repair?
Thank you for another informative well made video! I hadn’t noticed some of these new features myself. Love the reoccuring ABSOLUTELY NOTHING graphic. :D
Do you have Android phone? Using my HR with an iPhone and with this update, it actually DOES remove notifications from the watch if I dismiss it from my phone and vice versa. Clear it on the watch, and it's gone on my iPhone. This update has made me want to wear this watch over my apple watch again. Amazing update!
That's really interesting! My phone is running Android 10 and it has issues clearing notifications. Maybe it'll be different with Android 11 or something.
Great videos on the watch! I've been thinking about getting a smartwatch, but the lack of battery is just to much of a negative for me. These are on sale right now, so I think I'm going to purchase it and try it out! I do have a couple of questions: 1) I know that some people have said that the watch didn't sync with the phone often enough, so the weather is inaccurate. Have you noticed this? 2) how did the battery life compare to your expectations? Even if it only lasts one week, that would be much better than most full smartwatches. 3) how has the watch held up over time? With build quality/any issues in the glass or case. Thanks so much! And can't wait for some more videos, subscribed and will have to check out your podcast!
Thank you! We're always eager to get feedback on the podcast so I'd love to hear your thoughts! As for your questions: 1) I don't really use the weather feature on the watch that often so I can't comment on how often it syncs with the watch or if it's accurate. I'll try it out this week and let you know how it goes. 2) Battery life is fantastic and easily the best I've had on a smartwatch. Even when I'm using it constantly to control music on my phone or track my biking routes or randomly scroll through menus to prep for my videos, I've consistently had at least 11 days of solid use before the battery hit 10%. Now that you can turn the HR sensor and front lights off, I'm sure it'll last even longer. Plus it only takes an hour or so to charge it back to 100%, so I'm very happy with battery life. 3) I like to think I've been pretty careful with my watch but I did accidentally scrape it against a wall once. So it's got a very small scuff on the top near the 12 o'clock mark (you can probably see it in some of my videos) and an even tinier scratch on the glass (that might be harder to see because it only shows up at certain angles). I might look into getting a screen protector or something, but I think build quality is quite good for what it is.
I own the watch, and yes it doesn’t sync enough with my iPhone 12 pro max, bought it a week ago for $118 on sale, so I’m not bothered. I’m going to try and leave the fossil app in the background and see if that helps with syncing more fluently
@@wolfgaiden4311 cool! Sounds like you got a better deal (mine was 130) but I'm thinking that some small negatives that would have pushed me away at full price can be ignored. Mine is coming in on Friday and I'm excited lol
It's a great update! Would love to see geolocation/time based watch preset change and the option to change the front light on time as it is a bit fast for my liking with impaired vision at night time. Also the option to have the watch hands move slower on wrist flick for more time to observe the info below. Both would be quality of life improvements as the watch is largely ideal right now!
Hi, thank you for the helpful video! I have 2 concerns and i wish that you can clarify since you are a hybrid user. 1- the alarm's vibration intensity is enough to wake you up in the morning?? 2- have you hade the chance to try the HR Latitude model? Is there any additional options? Or just different model Thank you again
Great questions! 1) Even when it's set to STRONG, I haven't noticed a huge difference in vibration intensity when I'm wearing the watch. It's still not strong enough to wake me in the morning, but I've only had the update for a day so I'll test it out for a week or so and let you know. Maybe I'm just a heavy sleeper, so it might be a good idea to get feedback from other people as well. 2) I've not had a chance to try the HR Latitude, but it looks pretty cool! As far as I know, it's got the exact same features as the HR Collider but in a larger case/body. The Collider case size is 42mm and it uses 22mm bands. The Latitude case size is 50mm and it uses 24mm bands.
@Elie Fayad, I have an update for your vibration question! I've been wearing the watch daily since you asked and I have been using it for alarms/reminders. Even with the update, the vibration is still too weak to wake me up in the morning. I still need to rely on my phone to wake me up with a proper alarm. But like I said, you may want to get other people's opinions as well because it might be that I'm just really heavy sleeper.
@@ZaeemSiddiqui thank you for your reply 🙏 much appreciated. I'm too a heavy sleeper 😴 But im still going to get it lool Thank you again and keep it up 👍
Got this watch few days back ☺️ and I'm really happy with the new update! The only thing I'm worried about is the glass used (looks too fragile). I really appreciate the info and looking forward for your next video🔥
Seems very nice. I've question though : I like to have sleep tracking enabled, is it possible to have the watch NOT registering the input that I might do during the night (bending my wrist)?
I don't think it's possible to do that. But for what it's worth, I found the sleep tracking on the Hybrid HR to be fairly accurate, even if I move a lot when I'm sleeping.
As far as I know, the only options are to turn it on/off and you can't change how often it measures. But if you've got the the heart rate dial on screen, it will refresh the dial whenever you flick your wrist.
I really like the new update with all these options, especially the new faces, and even CUSTOM faces, so cool. BUT, I've had it for 6 months now and the e-ink portion of the face has seriously faded; to the point where it's almost illegible depending lighting conditions. I've never worn it in the rain, much less swim or shower with it, however there has been condensation within the watch's glass. It really sucks now that the OS update has made the watch much more useful and appealing. I never send anything back on a warranty claim, but I'm going to check it out and see if I can, because I kinda don't want to buy a replacement if it going to be a repeat of the same experience. How do they say? "Fool me once....." yeah, it's disappointing.
It sucks that your display is fading. Have you tried searching in the Fossil Hybrids subreddit? They might be able to help you out; it seems other people experienced a similar issue and got a replacement from Fossil. Here's the link: www.reddit.com/r/FossilHybrids
The watch doesn't vibrate when it loses connection, it just shows the icon at the bottom. But it does reconnect when it's back in range (the icon disappears). It takes a few seconds for the watch to reconnect, but I don't have to open the Fossil app or manually sync it anymore, which is good.
This update is amazing. Being able to turn off the heart rate monitor improved the battery life on my watch drastically. I never really cared for measuring my heart rate from a watch. I mostly needed a smartwatch or hybrid smartwatch for the notification and to be able to change the watch face from time to time to keep it interesting. With the heart rate off, I've noticed that my watch is only draining about 1-2% battery per day, which means it'll last a little over 2 months on one charge...incredible! It only takes about an hour to fully charge to full as well. One question I have for you is does the watch only have the 1 rechargeable, lithium battery inside it? I noticed that the mechanical hands still keep track of time even if I watch is not connected to my phone via bluetooth. This must mean that it has some sort of mechanical movement inside to keep the hands moving accurately right? It seems like it doesn't take much battery at all to keep the hands moving. This would be cool, if not already done, to have rechargeable analog watches so that there's no need to replace the watch battery or a mechanical system to wind the watch either manually or by moving it around.
That's really impressive battery life! I've kept my heart rate monitor on but it's so cool to know that the battery can last that long without it! As for your question, I'm not 100% sure what battery the watch uses, but it will turn the display off and just move the hands if the battery drops below 3%. Once it's at 0%, everything stops working.
@@ZaeemSiddiqui Ah, if everything stops completely when battery reaches 0% then it probably only has the 1 lithium battery to use. That's pretty cool then. I was afraid it has one of those button battery for the hand movements that I may have to replace in a few years.
Good question! I've not tested it myself, but I think one of the other commenters mentioned they were only losing 2% per day with the heart rate sensor turned off. Other people have said they get around 3.5 weeks of usage compared to the usual 14 days.

Is there any way I can get the "vibration OFF" feature? DND doesn't notify me at all. Bluetooth earphones notify me and I can instantly look at the watch instead of the watch vibrating. We can then save a lot of battery and still get notifications displayed.
Interesting question! As far as I know, there's no way to turn the vibration off. Like you said, it won't vibrate when it's on DND mode, but then you don't get to see the notifications pop up either. Maybe they'll add that feature in the next update.
@@ZaeemSiddiqui Also can I change the long press options for the watch? The top button long press is used to toggle the display and the bottom one for unread notifications. Can I change them? I need a DND shortcut in one of the button for long press.

Hi, I recently got the fossil hybrid HR but I'm having some problems with the notifications and was hoping this might be the forum for someone to help. It doesn't vibrate when I get notifications and my phone is on vibrate. I thought that it was supposed to vibrate when phone is on vibrate or loud. Everything works when phone is on loud but I never have my phone on loud. Anyone have the same issue?
Great question! This sounds like it may be a Do Not Disturb issue. If you go into your watch settings and change the DND mode to ALWAYS OFF, that should fix it. When it's set to MIRROR PHONE, it stops vibrating when the phone is on Silent or Vibrate, even if the phone is not on DND mode. Not sure why it does that.
Great question! If you delete the notification from the phone, it will automatically delete it from the watch. If you delete it from the watch, it will not be deleted from the phone.
Really impressed by depth and style of your reviews, thanks for making them. I have sill one question about the notification handling. In some review I read that when the watch is active and catching notications, the phone will no longer issue sounds anymore for incoming notifications, effectively being in DND (i.e. in favor of the Watch doing its thing.) Is this true?
Thanks for the kind words, and great question! Your phone will continue to vibrate and show notifications even when the Hybrid HR is connected and doing the same thing. DND works independently for the phone and the Hybrid HR. So if you set your phone to DND mode, the Hybrid HR will continue to vibrate and show notifications even if the phone doesn't. And if you set the Hybrid HR to DND, it will not vibrate or show anything (apart from the "Unread Notifications" icon) even if your phone is vibrating and showing notifications. There is an option to mirror your phone's DND setting on the Hybrid HR, but it's a pretty rubbish implementation and has been causing problems for a lot of people. For some reason, the Hybrid HR just won't show any notifications if your phone is set to Silent or Vibrate (even if your phone is not on DND). Hopefully, they'll fix it in a future update.
In my experience, tapping the glass doesn't always work. But if I tap the left side of the watch, it works every time. And as an added bonus, it means I don't get fingerprints on the display.
It's strange that the watch isn't vibrating. Maybe it's an issue with DND mode set to "Mirror Phone"? If it is, try switching to "Always Off" and see if that makes a difference.
Good question! I haven't experienced any disconnection issues with the Hybrid HR using my Pixel 4a. But I have heard that one of the fixes for disconnection problems on Android is to make sure the Fossil Hybrid app is not optimizing battery in Settings.
Personally, the vibration is good enough that I can feel whenever it vibrates, but it's not strong enough that it will wake me up if I use the Hybrid HR as an alarm clock. You might not feel it if you're playing high-intensity hand sports (eg. basketball, tennis, boxing etc.) but it should be OK for most other cases.
How to reset your phone depends on what phone you have, but it's usually an option in your phone's settings. If you want to reset the Hybrid HR, you can hold the middle button down until you see a disclaimer that warns you that you're about to reset it. Keep holding the middle button down and it will reset your Hybrid HR.
I must report that there is probably a bug, holding down the middle button the disclaimer is displayed and if you continue to hold down there is a vibration but then the clock returns to the home screen without resetting
Have you tried removing the watch from the Fossil app? If you open the app, tap on Profile at the bottom, and then tap on the gear/settings icon next to your watch, it should give you an option to Remove Watch. Maybe that will reset it? You should check with Fossil support to confirm because I'm not sure what the correct procedure is.
I love this update, I wish someday they let us instant reply from a third party messaging app
That would be really useful!

For some reason, the Hybrid HR just won't show any notifications if your phone is set to Silent or Vibrate (even if your phone is not on DND). Hopefully, they'll fix it in a future update.
Hi, is it just me or the nightlight touches are inconsistent? Sometimes I tap 2 times, even four or 6 and nothing happens...
Also, when does the watch vibrates? I am receiving notifications but it is not vibrating at all...
@@ZaeemSiddiqui yeah man, I posted this and it started working. Forgot to delete it lol. Thanks a lot, great vid keep it up 💪
Glad it all worked out!
Did the solve the disconetting problems?
Good question! I haven't experienced any disconnection issues with the Hybrid HR using my Pixel 4a. But I have heard that one of the fixes for disconnection problems on Android is to make sure the Fossil Hybrid app is not optimizing battery in Settings.
Good work keep them coming
Focus is giving me sea sickness
Thanks for the video. I feel the display is dull. Is it possible to increase the brightness?
Because of the technology used for the display, you can't change brightness. You can tap it twice to turn on the backlight, if that helps.
@@ZaeemSiddiqui Thankyou
Also can I ask how is the vibrate on this ? Can you feel it well whilst doing sports or at work ? Thanks
That’s great to hear thank you for letting me know
Thanks so much. Very helpful. You have a soothing presentation!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you liked it!
Love your calming voice.
Thanks so much!
Very thorough
Thanks!
Hi Zaeem, Cool Video Series on Fossil Hybrid HR. Love the detail in the videos. Looking forward to the next video on customization.
Thanks!
Hi,
anybody knows how to reset the phone?
Thank you
How to reset your phone depends on what phone you have, but it's usually an option in your phone's settings.
If you want to reset the Hybrid HR, you can hold the middle button down until you see a disclaimer that warns you that you're about to reset it. Keep holding the middle button down and it will reset your Hybrid HR.
@@ZaeemSiddiqui I wanted to write watch and instead I wrote phone :-)
Thank you for your videos and your fast reply.
@@ZaeemSiddiqui Already tried to remove from app without luck, I'll get in touch with Fossil support.
