Have you tried the Skagen version of the watches? And if so can the fossil app be used for Skagen watches since the fossil app seems to be updated a lot more often.
I haven't tried the Skagen versions but they look really good! As far as I know, the Fossil app only works with the Fossil models. If you've got a Skagen, you'll need to use the Skagen app.
Hey bud, just wanted to know something, I’ve got the fossil collider 42 mm hybrid hr, and was wondering, does the e-ink display size change in size if the watch was bigger ? Or just the watch casing? I was thinking of getting the 50mm fossil latitude hr.
Great question! The display is the same for every model, it's just the body/casing and watch strap size that change. The 50 mm Latitude HR uses 24 mm watch straps whereas the Collider uses 22 mm straps.

This watch can used for bath and swim (3-5atm)? I confuse it before purchasing
Great question! The watch is NOT waterproof so do not wear it if you're swimming or taking a bath/shower.
It is water resistant (3 ATM), meaning it can handle light splashes of water, like if you're washing your hands or something.
Hi, can you please tell me how I can check for firmware updates? I can't seem to see if there's one available, or how to download it if there is. Thanks!
Excellent question! Whenever an update is available in your region, it should sync automatically the next time you open the Fossil app.
To check what firmware version you're on for the watch, you open the Fossil app and tap on Profile at the bottom. Then tap on the Gear icon next to your Hybrid HR to see the watch settings. It'll show you your firmware version there.
To check the app version, go to the Profile tab in the Fossil app and tap on the "What's New" box. It should show you what software version you're on. For what it's worth, I'm on v4.9.0. Even though there's a newer software version that's out (I think it's v4.9.2), it seems it's not available in my region yet.
Does clock also stops when the battery drains out? Else running clock has separate power?
Good question! Everything stops when the battery runs out, including the watch hands/clock.
Any chance they added a Bluetooth turn off option on the watch?or airplane mode?
Good question! There's still no option to turn off the watch or put it in Airplane mode.
Hi. Thanks for your series on the HR Collider. I now have v4.8 and it does not have the customisation controls of v4.7. I cannot import an image, not can I do any design except from the Gallery offered in the Fossil Ap. Is it me or is the new version simply more restrictive? Will you do a vlog on v4.8? Thanks
That's really interesting! I'm also on v4.8 and I've got the same customization options as I did on v4.7. If you tap on the litle gear icon in the Customization screen, you can get to "My Faces" and then tap the "+" icon in the top right to create a new preset. Maybe that method will work for you?
As for making a video on this new update, Fossil didn't add anything new for the Hybrid HR models with v4.8. The v4.8 update only adds features for the hybrid models that don't have an e-ink display.

That's a good point I hadn't considered. Maybe there are regional differences. It might also be different if you're on an iPhone instead of an Android device.

Cool, never seen 6 info-sections on the watchface. Thought there were max. 4 possible...!?!? Is there a mode to show all 6 info-icons within circles instead hexagons?
Yeah, 4 is still the max, but there was a glitch with one of the watch faces that let someone get 6 dials. They were nice enough to share the watch face with everyone else. You could edit the watch face and add a background image with circles instead of hexagons.

Meanywhile the watch arrived today and I love it so far.....also found two forum posts with watchfaces that offer 5 and 6 complications. Unfortunately they have been taken down by the owners..:-(
I'm glad you're loving the watch! It sucks that they removed those watch faces. I don't know what the glitch was or how to recreate it, but you could take the watch face I shared and then change the background/rearrange the dials to make your own design. Hopefully that link still works.

Good day, thanks for your video. I have a problem with my watch: as soon as the watch looses bt connection, It won`t reconnect, until I open the fossil App in my phone. (The phone runs on Android 10, all the permissions are given to the app) I tried unpairing and pairing the devise again, did not help. Any advices for my problem?

One feature is still not enabled in v4.8.. We dont see the list of Work profile Apps.. So we dont get any notifications of Work profiles App
I've not used work profile apps before, but it's interesting that they don't show notifications through the Hybrid HR. Thanks for letting us know! Hopefully that feature gets added in a new update.
Hi Zaem i had a problem, I used my watch outside almost completely because I work with direct sun light. So after a few months the screen started to get a gray color instead of black and white

Hey, Brian. It sounds like your display is fading. Have you tried contacting Fossil about repairing/replacing your watch?

Can we adjust brightness on the watch ?
Good question! You can turn the backlight on for a few seconds, but apart from that, there's no way to adjust brightness/contrast on the watch.
Hello, i hesitated a lonnnng time buying this watch already and still undecided.. I have an old phone (LG G6) and was wondering about the battery drain on your phone ? Is is better than other watches ? I'm planning on using it as an everyday watch and changing my spotify music in the subway since i leave my phone in my locked backpack, would this be a fit ? Thanks a lot for you videos !
Great question! The only smartwatches I can compare this to are the Moto 360 Sport and Pebble Steel, which are pretty old. Also, I was using a different phone at the time, so it's not exactly a fair comparision.
But I used the Hybrid HR with my original Google Pixel, which was released roughly the same time as the LG G6. And I didn't see any serious battery drain with that.
And for what it's worth, I have pretty much the same daily use as you're looking for (notifications + music controls + step/heart rate tracking) and my current phone (Pixel 4a) still lasts all day. If you leave your phone in your backpack, you'll still be able to get notifications and control your Spotify music without a problem, even on the subway.

@@ZaeemSiddiqui living in France the models get expensive pretty fast, there was a black model with silicone strap, I might pick that one and change it to a nato strap that was the plan
Sounds like a solid plan. I did something similar; I got the black silicone version and swapped it out for a brown leather strap. I hope you have a brilliant birthday!
Hi I have another question. Have you ever missed a call with the watch? Like the call notification didn't go through, even though your phone was ringing. I understand you cant answer with your watch but was wondering. I am looking for a watch that is reliable enough for me to leave my phone in my bag while I work. Wearos doesn't seem the most reliable so if this doesn't work I may need to switch to iPhone 🤷♂️
Great question! The only times I've missed calls/notifications were when I was too far from my phone so it lost the Bluetooth connection. If your phone is in your bag and you're in the same room, you should have no problem getting notifications on your Hybrid HR.
If it helps, you can leave your phone on Ringer/Vibrate so you can hear it, and still get notifications on your Hybrid HR. The Do Not Disturb (DND) settings don't sync properly, so putting your phone on DND will not affect the watch's DND settings, and vice versa.

Same! I've always liked the rotating bezel but the Galaxy Watches are just too expensive.

Good question! It isn't available in v5.0.4, but hopefully it'll be added back with the next update.

Good question! I posted the link in the video description, but it seems like that now shows "Hexagon Inverted" instead of the original one I had in this video. Can we store music in the watch? I want to use it for music without having to bring my phone.
Good question! Unfortunately, the Hybrid HR cannot store any music. It only lets you control the music playing on your phone.

how to set time to commute , I am not able to do in my wathc
Great question! You set the destination address (you can set up to 10 addresses) on the Fossil app on your phone when you select the Commute option from the side-button shortcuts. Then, when you press that shortcut button on your Hybrid HR, it'll show you the estimated commute time to that address based on your (phone's) location.

how do you find the calorie tracking? mine just seems ridiculous and counts 1100 + on days where i'm at my desk 8 hours of the day and do 3000 steps maximum..
Great question! The fitness/calorie tracking isn't as accurate as a Fitbit, Garmin, or fitness-focused device. Mine counts around 800 calories for 5000 steps, but it varies a lot. I think it's a bit more accurate when you sync your data with Google Fit as well.
How do you have 6 complications on your watch face? I can only get 4
Excellent question! There was a bit of a glitch with one of the watch faces that let you have 6 complications. I've put a link to it in the description if you want to download it yourself. It works really well!

Hi, the vibration is decent, but it probably won't wake you up if you're a deep sleeper. You can't customize it, but you can choose between it being a Medium or Strong vibration.

Absolutely. It works with both iPhones and Android devices. You can download the Fossil Hybrid app on the App Store.
Worth buying in 2022?
Good question! I think it's still worth it, but only if you can get it on sale. It also depends on what you're looking for in a smartwatch (i.e., if you're expecting all the features of an Apple Watch, you are obviously going to be disappointed).

The Hybrid HR is going for around $280 in Canada, so $100 sounds like a good price if it's in good condition.

Yeah, I'm hearing that a lot. My watch hasn't been updated yet so I don't know what exactly they've changed, but I know that it's made a lot of people unhappy!
I didn’t like it either. Settings navigation update is good, but they have made black background everywhere so it is hard to read text, plus it was cool earlier when white and black combination was used like @1:25
They should give us option to use theme with White background or combination with White which was available earlier.
