@@ZaeemSiddiqui I noticed that the watch has "quick reply", do you know how to use it?
When you get a phone call notification on your watch, you have the option to answer the call, decline it, or send a Quick Reply (i.e. decline the call and send a text message). There are only 3 Quick Replies you can choose from, but you can customize what they say through the Fossil app on your phone. For some reason, the Quick Reply feature is only available for phone calls and won't work with emails, text messages, social media notifications etc. Maybe that feature will come in a future update?

Hey zaeem great video!!!, thanks for the quick walk through. Dude i m having a query, whenever i keep my phone in silent mode the call notification (vibration) don't show up can we tweak some settings? And one more thing is that once i turn the Bluetooth on n off n on again i stop receiving notifications could you please tell me any solution that you know off.....need your help buddy

@@ZaeemSiddiqui Collider brown. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Watch but strongly prefer the hybrid style watch faces. I think this watch suits my style better. I didn't even know it existed when I bought the Samsung earlier this year!
Nice choice! I hope you really enjoy it! And I know what you mean; I had a Wear OS watch but missed the simplicity and hardware buttons of the Pebble Watch, so this hybrid design seemed like a good mix of the two.

@@oherrer2 nope. As far as I can tell, there's no off option. I wish there were a quick do not disturb option rather than going into the settings. Or a night mode that automatically turns off notifications after a certain hour. Otherwise, I'm liking it better than my Samsung Galaxy Watch so far. Just the right amount of smart functions I was looking for.

That's an excellent question! My watch has never died so I can't answer this yet. I'll let the battery run out and then let you know what happens. My gut instinct is that it will not tell the time when the battery is dead, but I will confirm and let you know either way.
Hello again! So my watch finally ran out of battery (it took a while!) and here's what happened.
At 10%, I got the low battery notification. I dismissed it.
At 7%, the low battery notification showed up again. I dismissed it.
At 3%, the watch display turned off, but the hands continued to show the time.
At 0%, everything stopped working.
So when the battery is dead, the watch doesn't tell the time or do anything.
This is a really sharp looking watch. I have an Apple Watch and a Garmin Fenix but I’d also like something that’s a little bit more traditional looking at times. I know that this watch is about two years old as of this comment but it seems like a lot of people really like it. It’s on sale right now so I might just take the plunge and get myself one.
I really like it and it's only gotten better with each update. What style would you get if you decide to get one?
@@ZaeemSiddiqui There’s a few of them I really like but the two that stick out are the Neutra Stainless Steel and the Latitude with the red ring. I also like that the bands are formfitting to the watch case. They’re just not flat, they contour to the watch. I think the contouring gives it an extra touch.
@radioactive.cat Yeah, that Neutra design looks really slick. If I didn't already have my one, that's probably the one I'd have gotten instead.
Thanks for this well thought and informative video. I had a Withing Scanwatch which I really liked. However, I was let down with the inaccurate information it provided. For example, at times it didn't count the time I walked or even reversed the number of calories I burned without any reasonable explanation.
I ordered a Fossil and I'm hoping it will do things right. Also the level of customisation on this watch is insane. I'm very impressed with it.
I always liked the look of the Withings ScanWatch! But it wasn't as customizable as the Hybrid HR and didn't offer the same media controls, so I decided to go with the Hybrid HR instead. As far as fitness tracking goes, the Hybrid HR is OK but nowhere near as accurate as something like a Fitbit. In any case, I hope you enjoy your Fossil!
@@ZaeemSiddiqui Thanks for your kind comment, Zaeem. I'm interested in the hybrid models so something like the Fitbit doesn't fit what I'm looking for. The Withings Scanwatch is fantastic but the app does mess up the distance and calories from time to time which is very frustrating. I hope things will be better with the Fossil. The insane level of customisation offered by the watch is the reason I decided to order it. Have a good one 😊
@@ZaeemSiddiqui I got the Fossil HR and I really like it. It's fancy and has a lot of tricks under its sleeve. That said, it's no where as advance as the Withings when it comes to fitness tracking. Also, Withings app is way better. So, I decided to keep them both rather than return my ScanWatch.
I'm glad you like your new watch! And you're right, the fitness tracking on the Hybrid HR could definitely do with an improvement. I was hoping Fossil would do that with the Gen 6 Hybrid, but they didn't make much of an upgrade.

Good question! The only way to change watch faces (so far, at least) is through the Fossil app on your phone.

Great question! There's no way to turn off the watch or turn off Bluetooth. But you can turn off the heart rate sensor and front light to save some battery.

Yes, I had Bluetooth turned off all last week and my Fossil Hybrid HR didn't lose track of time at all. I even used it for alarms and it worked perfectly.

Do you recommend people interest in getting this for holiday season wait or go ahead and get current hybrid version?
That's a great question!
I've been very happy with the current Hybrid HR. Fossil is regularly releasing software updates for it and listening to user feedback; it's only gotten better over time and I hope that it will be supported for a long time. Personally, even if the new one came out before the end of the year (the current version was released November 2019), I wouldn't upgrade because the current version does everything I need it to.
I think that if you're unsure, maybe wait for the current version to go on sale and then get it? I don't know how long you would have to wait for the next version of the Hybrid HR because I honestly have no idea when Fossil will announce/release it.

Hey, i was thinking about buying this watch but have heard things about how after around 1 year the ink fades. Has that happened to you since you've had it for over a year now?

Hopefully that's what your version looks like! I'm not sure if you've got a Skagen model, but they apparently don't have the exact same features as Fossil-branded Hybrid HRs, even though they're the same hardware.

I have a Collider HR as well. Are you also having trouble with the Mirror phone function of the DND mode? It is very annoying
Yeah, I'm not happy with the Mirror Phone option either. It doesn't show any notifications if my phone is on Vibrate or Silent. It only works when my phone's Ringer is on, which it never is because I always keep it on Vibrate. I've just set DND to Always Off because it's easier.

If the battery dies, do the dials work like a regular watch?
Great question! If the battery dies, the hands also stop working until you charge the watch.
Can you set up the music controls to be a specific button? I know the middle is pause play, but can the top and bottom buttons be skip without having to scroll to controls?
I am facing the same issue. I know the middle button is for pause and play but cannot find volume control. If you find it, please let me know also
Yes, they updated the UI since I published my first video. The main thing is that you don't have to scroll to other music controls because everything is in one place now.
In the Music Control on your watch, you can press the top button to increase volume and the bottom button to lower volume. If you hold the top button, you can skip to the next track and if you hold the bottom button, you can go to the previous track. I'll try and publish a video on this topic so it's clear.

Is it possible to hide the white ring around the dials?
Yes, you can! Fossil introduced that feature in the 4.6 update. You can check out what that looks like in my Customization Part 2 video: ruclips.net/video/frb72MRh3s8/видео.html (it's around the 14:00 mark).
How we set time on this watch ....i tried alot but i m unable to fix it plz tell me.. in calibration after pressing done button time is not set😥😥
If you sync the watch with your phone, the time should automatically match your phone's clock.
The calibration setting on the watch is for when your watch hands are misaligned. Set both watch hands to the 12 o'clock position and it should show the right time if you've synced it with your phone.
Do you know how to change the battery out when it dies?
That is a great question! I actually don't know how that would be done. I think you'd have to contact Fossil if your battery dies.

Hello, it is a very useful video.. thankyou for helping out. However, Can you please guide on controlling the music/video volume via the watch. I am able to play and pause but no volume control is there
When you go to the Music Control app on the watch, you can press the top button to increase volume and you can press the bottom button to lower volume. If you hold the top button, you can skip to the next track. If you hold the bottom button, you can go to the previous track. I'll try and publish a video on this topic so it's clear.
Zaeem Siddiqui : Hello sir, thankyou for the response. I explored and found that the volume up and down control doesn’t work when music is via RUclips . I get the control options only when I play the music through Spotify app. I reckon there will be limited music apps for this feature to sync with. Please let us know if you try the same and get different results.

I enabled dial info but still not able to see it on my home screen. Using a custom wallpaper.
I'm not sure why it's not showing the dials. Is it possible the background is white and the dial text/icon is also white so it doesn't show up?
Love my watch but It seems that my step counter is inaccurate. It is logging significantly more steps than I am taking. Any fix? Thanks for your helpful videos!
I heard other people have the same issue
Great question! The Hybrid HR's step tracking is a bit of a mixed bag. Sometimes it will log hundreds of steps even though I've spent all day on the sofa. But at the same time, it's also surprisingly accurate when I go for a walk. As far as I know, there's no real fix or even a clear explanation of what it counts as a step.

@Bhavya Yuvraj Handa Yes, it will work without a Bluetooth connection to your phone, but you won't get any notifications or use the music controls etc. It will just be the basic functions.

That's interesting. I'm not sure why it wouldn't show you the option to customize your own design.

Fantastic question! You can add a digital clock using the time-zone option but the only issue is that by default it just shows how many hours ahead or behind the time zone is instead of the current time there. It only shows the actual time when you flick your wrist to refresh the dial.
So if I live in Toronto and add Toronto as a second timezone, the dial just shows me "+0h" to tell me Toronto is in the same time zone as me. It's only when I flick my wrist that it tells me the current time. After about 15 seconds, it will go back to "+0h".
Man, this vs the Garmin Vivo Move style is a tough choice, I like all the customizations on this one, but I mostly prefer the secret touch color interface on the garmin and it seems to have a lot more advanced features like nfc pay and better health tracking. Battery here is much better though and you get a fuller display. This one is also only $170 if you buy from fossils website
Definitely a tough choice! I love the look of the Garmin and like you said, it's got a lot more features than the Hybrid HR. I was tempted to get it myself, but eventually opted for the Fossil because of its simplicity.
The main thing that influenced my decision was the hardware controls. It's something I loved about my Pebble and it's something you can't really get with other smartwatches. It's especially good for Music Controls, because I can just press a button to change volume/tracks without needing to look at the screen. With touchscreen watches, you need to be looking down at the watch to see what you're tapping/swiping etc. which is more effort and makes it very obvious that you've got a smartwatch on (sometimes you want to be discreet). Plus you've got to deal with fingerprints on the glass, which isn't an issue with the HR.
Also, the Garmin doesn't have glow-in-the-dark watch hands or any backlight to illuminate them. Of course, you can get a clock widget and swipe to see the current time, but the Hybrid HR just keeps things simple and that's what I like about it. The background customization is a nice touch too, since you can make your Hybrid HR suit whatever your current style is, whether it's minimalistic, classic, funky etc.
Those aren't gamechangers, but they were enough to push me to get the Fossil instead of the Garmin.
@@ZaeemSiddiqui Thanks man. I ended up getting the Fossil. It's technically a downgrade from my fronteir s3, but I do like the simplicity.
All I really need is notifications, good battery life and basic fitness/sleep tracking. Customization is a big bonus for me too. So it made more sense in the end.. plus if I eventually miss the other smart features, its a better contrast from my old watch and I could swap back without having spent as much money.
I don't think I will though, I think this sort of hybrid is the perfect compromise now, and the battery life is insanely better, like 5-10% per day compared to 30-40 of my old watch lol.
Just got a,v4.7 update..now you can change font size from small, normal, big, or hugh. Plus you can make it left or right handed in settings....

How does the collider HR Count the calories? I cant find any Information about this Question i cant Imagine that the calories are right
Excellent question!
The app lets you input your height/weight/gender and it tracks your heart rate, so I'm assuming all of that goes into its calculations of calories burned depending on how active you were. But I don't know how accurate it actually is.
I haven't been able to compare its readings to anything else, but I might try to make a video comparing its readouts to a FitBit if I can get my hands on one.
If anything, I think it's more of a general estimate to help you roughly keep track of how many calories you can eat than it is an actual/accurate reading of how much you've burned, especially if you're trying to lose weight.

Great question! When the battery is empty, the analogue hands do not work.

Good question! You cannot change the watch to digital. The mechanical hands tell the time.
My hybrud hr id upside down ..how do i fix it ?
Great question! Your Hybrid HR might have switched to Rightie or Leftie mode, depending on how you wear it. You can switch back in the settings. I show how to do that in this video: ruclips.net/video/gNDLwQWrEmM/видео.html
Can the photos be in color
Great question! The watch doesn't show any colours. If you add a colour photo as a watch background, it will just give you options in grey/back/white etc.

Hey actually my fossil hr screen look very dull and light the colours look kinda mixed and screen is not as clear as your any suggestions on how to fix it?
Great question! If the screen looks dull or washed out, you may have a faulty display. You should contact Fossil directly and see if they may be able to help.

Your Hybrid HR should show the same time as your phone. If it's not, maybe the watch hands aren't calibrated?

Is there a way to display the time digitally?
Not on the fossil app at least
There's no digital time dial as such, but you can get it through a workaround. Basically, you add the dial that shows you a second timezone, but you set the timezone to be the same as your current location.
So if I live in Toronto and add Toronto as a second timezone, the dial will show me "+0h" to tell me that Toronto is in the same timezone as me. But when I flick my wrist, I can see the current time in that timezone. After about 15 seconds, it will go back to "+0h".
It's not a sophisticated solution by any means, but it works if you really need a digital display.

@Nydid I've never heard of GadgetBridge before. Sounds pretty cool! Is it easy to use or does it need some coding experience?
@@ZaeemSiddiqui It is normally easy to use with other watches but Fossil made it so you need a unique watch code located and unaccessible on the fossil app (You can use u/Coronafire 's modded app to get access to it easily, otherwise you need some networking experience to catch the code). Right now, the fossil watch compatibility still needs a bit of work, but it's getting there.

What do you think of the new Unread Notifications feature?
Like it. Frees up a button that was set to past notifications. Plus now a little icon at the bottom of the screen pops up when there is an unread notification. That feature can be toggled off too.

Hi, while I try to change my watch face, the app automatically disconnects the Bluetooth and says "Try again". How can I fix this?

The alignment of the hands, or lack thereof, when in menu mode is a bust.
It would be great to calibrate the watch hands from the watch instead of having to do it from the phone.
My watch is not showing notification of calls, wtsapp message and all other apps.. Please help me
There are two things you can try to fix this.
1) Go to the Alerts tab in your Fossil Hybrid app and make sure your app notifications are enabled. Because of a problem with the app, it might have turned them all off. You might have to manually enable notifications for each app.
2) The Hybrid HR's Do Not Disturb mode might be set to "Mirror Phone". If it is and your phone is on Silent/Vibrate, the watch will not give you notifications. Go to DND setting in your watch's main menu and switch it to ALWAYS OFF.

Hi, there's no way to turn the watch off. The only time it does turn off is when the battery dies.
