Exactly this. As long as they aren't copying the brand name, I'll happily buy and use. I'd never spend the money on a real Sebenza, I just don't see the value. I do like the form factor, so this is perfect
Yes. My EDC watch is a San Martin Gmt that mimmicks the Tudor Black Bay Pro. It has a Seiko movement!!! Only $160 on the 11:11 sale at Ali and its much thinner than the BB pro which is like 4k 🤣
@@MAGR1994i own 3 San Martins, such great watches for the money. Their 62mas homage is my favorite, that gray dial!!! The GMT that you speak of is gorgeous. Great choice
Same here, this video made me remember 10 years ago when I got my first Land 910. Despite the clone controversy, this 9 series Land/SRM is a nice and solid budget option even nowadays and the action after these years is sooo smooth!
You can trust this man's recommendations. I purchased 2 of his recomended knives; the Bears Ops MC-400-84-B-S35 S35VN for< $80.00 w/ Black G 10 scales. Excellent quality, been carrying it for a 1 year now. You can't go wrong with his recommendations. Thxs for sharing!!!
That sanrenmu 7010 is my most versatile knife it would be even better if it had a g10 scale for grip. The size is perfect for places that allow less than a 3" blade like certain warehouses. The blade shape is also very versatile.
Love the Land 910 with G10 scales, I have 2 of them. I would never spend Sebenza money for any knife, so CR is not missing out. BTW: Sanrenmu, SRM, Land, Ruike and Real Steel are all the same company/factories. All excellent value for money.
Wow, I’d buy one of those Lands in a heartbeat. I’ve wanted a Sebenza for years but apart from them being hard to come by, I’ve never seriously set the money aside for one. Thanks for the vid!
Luv your channel just wanted to get that in their, the way things are today its nice that you are pointing out cheaper brands that have decent quality your awesome brother 🇺🇲🙏😎
I always learn so much from you. Never heard of the Land knives - very cool. I was looking at a Miguron recently. I decided to go with the Civivi Sendy as it was a little lighter and offered the scale tools. My first Nitro V blade.
These Sanrenmu/Land models made a huge splash with pretty much every single knife RUclipsr and blogger 10+ years ago. You couldn't search budget knives without the 7010/710 coming up describing it as the best budget knife money could buy. They were around $10 back then. Back then, Chinese knives were just starting to get attention in the US and a whole lot of people were very very against these models specifically because they "looked too similar" to the grail knife Sebenza. I have one of each of these models from around that time. I agree that they're decent, but 10 years later, we have sooo many better options for the increased price they're asking now. But I still use mine from time to time as beater knives.
I really like the remette but I held out for the vosteed ankylo instead. I do like the way the remette looks better. I prefer the fact that it's titanium instead of aluminum like on the vosteed also.
The 12c27n steel on the Land Sanrenmu 910 is great. You’ll need to locktite the screws and I broke the pocket clip but overall is a great user. Now lives in a pouch (because of the pocket clip issue).
The Sanrenmu is an excellent knife. It was disrespectful for you to not say the brand. It has a great lockup. Perfectly centered. Luv the heavy weight. Unique "glitter" finish. I have seen NO other knife with that finish! A+.
Thanks for these videos! I don't care about the clone thing. To be honest, I don't care about much except for usability, durability, blade grind, edge retention, etc., versus price.
I have the Land 7010, but with VG10 and titanium handles. I like it a lot, but the position of the clip can subtracts points in general Don't think its a "meh" at all, in my opinion 👍
I've never held a Sebenza. I have heard that the Land 910 is between the size of the large and small Sebenzas, tho. I am afraid that you are way off on one point - the price of a Sebenza. You can't touch one for under $500. The cheapest small Sebenza on Blade HQ is $555, and the cheapest on KnifeCenter is $650. I have had a Land 910 for 3 years, and it's been a great knife. Comfortable, reliable, and a great carry. I am thinking about upgrading to the $45 version in titanium and VG-10.
the Land 7010 is the Sanrenmu 710/3010. good knife, around 15 USD. the Land 910Plus/912 is NOT a clone but an homage because it has Land billboarding. edit: the Land 910Plus/912/913 have a crowned spine ! and there is a Land 910T2 in M390 and Titanium.
Let's be clear clone: perfectly legal, not representation as original. COUNTERFEIT: is the other term and is illegal. This homage thing is made up by reviewers.
@@maxlvledc about that: wouldn't clone mean an exact copy, meaning same materials and billboarding ? that's what "clone" usually means. and copy would mean the same then somehow. i can see it's difficult. the only term crystal is "counterfit" then. but people say clones don't pretend to be the original or genuine. there we go. i can live with your definition. fine with me.
Sebenzas came out in 1991 - 1996 ... theyre design patents have long expired. Same people saying "id never buy" have no problem with all the similar knives to the WW2 kabars, and had no problem kabar ripped off some other makers with that design.
Yeah people seem to be missing the entire point of patents expiring in the first place. Allowing other companies to use a design after a set period of time is very good for competition and innovation. Benchmade's axis lock patent expiring in 2016 got a lot of affordable legitimate bugout copies into people's hands. This got a lot of people into knives in general which has ultimately been good for Benchmade's sales.
To me the Sebenza has a very basic design and look to it therefore alot of other knives will look similar. I respect others opinions but do we carry the same thoughts when buying, say a drill or a BBQ grill. Just wondering.
Meanwhile, Land 91X ,81X users are discussing the goodness of the knife. There was a man named Sabenza who asked to join the conversation. That also have a Land knife, too. Awkward moment
Are the clones as good as the originals? Well, clearly not, but are the originals twenty or thirty times better than the clones given the price difference? Again the answer is no. The Sanrenmu knives are an absolute bargain for what you get and offer the Sebenza experience to those who will never get closer than seeing a picture of the original. To be honest, I would rather have a new Sanrenmu than a secondhand Sebenza.
I'm not wild about clones to be honest. I get why they are around but it sort of annoyed that someone worked so hard on the design and then someone else just takes thst design and doesn't at least give them credit. Do I personally support them? No. Do I get angry thst others do? No, not at all. Perhaps it is all they are able to afford and now they get a taste of the original design at a lower cost.
Clones are commonly accepted in the watch community where they refer to them as homages since they don't pretend to be the original.

I wouldn't have bought a Rambler if it weren't for MaxLvl
I’m gonna be honest, those cheap knives look much better than that hideous thing at the end haha
Miguron is phenomenal. I have 4-Keryx, Moyarl, Galaty and now the Talism. Totally agree with you about the Talism

I have a Sanrenmu 710 from like... 15 years ago. Was only $9 shipped back then. Good times.
The Land looks good, idgaf about it being a clone, you're entirely correct about not being able get a real Sebenza (sp?) when they do drop.

Land 812 has a version that comes in Titanium and VG10 about $55. For the materials and quality I'm very happy with it
Wow, I’d buy one of those Lands in a heartbeat. I’ve wanted a Sebenza for years but apart from them being hard to come by, I’ve never seriously set the money aside for one. Thanks for the vid!
That LAND 910 looks excellent for a job site carry!
I did the same with Miguron. I basically bought everything that they sell that has a reversible clip. Highly recommended.

id probably go with the Miguron
You can't go wrong with a Miguron knife, the quality is incredible for the price..,

Tip down carry! 🙌 You'll never cut your hand reaching for a tip down. I'll never understand the dislike.

Are washers better then bearings? I see this even in benchmade they mainly use washers

Wow, your right...crazy
Small sebenza is 425. Not in stock though. 555 probably has polished blade or glass blasted handle.
I just bought the falcon and i have never spent that much money on a knike
how about miguron perism? are these knives also on bearings? (miguron talism and perism)
Yep, should he
I am a fan of the Miguron Moyarl. I am not aware that this would be a clone of any other knife, even. - They are just hard to get in Europe.
the Land 7010 is the Sanrenmu 710/3010. good knife, around 15 USD.

A good tool has to be around or below 100 usd or it will end up in the drawer. The drawer factor

I can't afford the price of 300 dollars for a pocket knife, but 30? I can do that.
Large Sebenzas are more like $500+

I mean, more than 30 years with the same design...at some point...it's just fair game imo
Liner locks...hard pass.
I would never buy a clone. In my opinion, using someone else's design and reputation to make money is simply immoral.
