I remember when that song came out , it was during the Viet Nam war and I was just a kid living on Turner Air Base in Albany Ga. ( the song of course was Paint it Black).
Thank you for this…..absolutely brilliant Couple of missing candidates; Sweet Virginia, Dead Flowers, Faraway Eyes, Moonlight Mile RIP Charlie, what a loss and sadly the Stones’ days must now be considered over. What a phenomenon they have been. I was born a couple of weeks before their first gig and so they have been the defining band of my lifetime.
Nice selections and great job as usual! I had sure included "You can´t always get what you want" but,you know, you can´t always get what you want. Sweet Virginia and Love in vain are also remarkable!
God bless the Stones & RIP brother Charlie Watts, I've had the pleasure of seeing you play at the Pontiac Silverdome and the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan and you guys jammed thank you so much for the memories of one of my favorite bands!
"As Tears Go By" is the first song I heard when I really started listening to the Stones. Of course I had already heard Satisfaction, You can't get..., Pain It Black, etc. But I felt in love with the Stones because of As Tears Go By. Such a beautiful song and chord progression.
Sweet Black Angel, I Got The Blues. Keith Richards' acoustic guitar playing is massively underrated - and rarely has anyone played the songs as he recorded them. BTW we ought to remember that although Brian was a huge motivator and contributor in the early days, Mick and Keith were already playing together long before Brian appeared.
Ganz Toll ! Schön gespielt von Dir ! Morgen muß ich wieder in den Keller zur Gitarre. Muss mich mal um Lady Jane kümmern ! Auch Angie darf ich nicht vernachlässigen! Beste Grüße Danke !
.You can't please everyone. Love the Channel and great to hear you sing! Sitting on a Fence, As the Tears go By, etc is good, but Street Fighting Man, Exile on Main Street? Sweet Virginia, Sweet Black Angel? It sounds like you're missing a few key albums and need to get more familiar.
10. You Got the Silver 9. She’s A Rainbow 8. Dead Flowers 7. Let it Bleed 6. Wild Horses 5. Salt of the Earth 4. Streets of Love 3. You Can’t Always Get What You Want 2. Sweet Virginia 1. Loving Cup
Charlie had, with a few ones, a special snare sound. Keith described it like longer like usual. For me, he hits the snare and caressed it at the same time, like a rocker and a jazzman, but simultaneously. Anyway, great video, Angie number one on an acoustic axe. RIP Charlie Watts
sweet black angel, sweet virginia, torn and frayed, loving cup, worst, this place is empty, till the next good bye, indian girl, anyway your play is brilliant like keith thanks~!!
-) you got the silver -) prodigal son -) dead flowers -) parachute woman -) love in vain -) dear doctor -) jigsaw puzzle -) factory girl -) sweet virginia beggars banquet album had many acoustic songs btw
Keith Richards is a great musician, first! Thanks you for allowing US to remember it!! P.s. "exile" is full of great acoustic guitar parts...my favourite is "Sweet Black Angel"; from the other records, also "Factory girl" and "Play with fire" deserve our attention😍

Good choice! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 On my list of my favourite acoustic Stones Songs are also „Winter“ from Goat’s Head Soup, „Memory Hotel“ from Black and Blue or „Til The Next Goodbye“ from IORR.
Nice compliment to Mr. Watts who was a great husband and father by all accounts. What a nice way to exit this life with SO many fans and fellow musicians. Can only hope that he was one of the outcasts that shunned the evil thrust upon him.
Great job, these songs are all classics! Other band members and guest artists come and go throughout the years but Its amazing to think that every Rolling Stones song has Charlie holding down the beat. RIP Charlie.
There is one record where Brian even goes so far as to play the Oboe (dandelion) that's one hard instrument to go and play, the guy was incredibly talented
To me Love in vain misses , thought it has been written by Robert Johnson the Ro St version is amazing to play o acoustic guitar, many thanks for your energy and shares 😄
Their Catalogue of Acoustic Songs Is Huge, Then add the Others and you have a Book, I have one such Book of songs with 180 songs of Their's, Dated 1981, Since Then Many More, An incredible amount of Music 🎶. Thanks for Sharing.
Stones are one of my all fav bands. Still listen to them a few times every month. My best song is from Get yer ya-ya's out - Symphaty for the devil. Love Keiths and Taylors solos. Specially Keiths. It's so nonchalant and cool.
Yes, my now late older brother was invited over to Keith Richards' house, so he showed up with an acoustic guitar. This was in the early 90s. Back in 1966, my brother and I saw The Stones live, and they performed both "Paint, It Black" and "Lady Jane" at that show; this still being about a year before "Let's Spend The Night Together" became a huge hit. Anyway, he met Keith Richards in the early 90s, and he ended up spending night at his house numerous times. They ended up playing every old blues tune you can imagine together, but never any Stones tune, except for one time. Btw, he may have changed it by now (as far as I know), but back in the day, the front door of Keith Richards' house was painted red (it may still be; I don't know). Keith Richards' personal business manager is a LADY NAMED JANE, and when my brother died, she sent a message on behalf of Keith. And yes, she does see to it that his life is secure!
Oh, so what was the ONE STONES TUNE that my brother started playing in front of Keith, though he had insisted that they weren't going to play any Stones' tunes together? Well, it starts with an acoustic guitar, and then Brian Jones added an accordion and, I believe, a glockenspiel, and maybe a harpsichord, too (?). I think it's one of The Stones' most underrated and beautiful songs.
The song is "Backstreet Girl". My brother was with Keith Richards when he started to play it on his acoustic (Gibson, I believe), and for a moment or two Mr. Richards actually didn't remember that it was a Jagger/Richards tune. I think it's one of their most underrated and beautiful tunes.
@@shers338 the song was originally composed acoustically, specifically in California Joshua Tree park 69' (in a trip of Keith, Anita & Gram, theres Michael Moore some photos of this) from the interactions of Keith and Gram Parsons in acustic guitars who contributed with the knowledge of so many country licks played foreward. There are alternate takes only acoustic previus the final version. Also, Mick jagger in the recording plays acoustic standard and he plays acoustic too in live concerts from 1989 to this days.. Beside all this, its menorable the Mick Taylor solo on the song and the incredible solos on live recordings in the 70s (as the Marquee and many others)...
You know what made the ABB so good was the fact that Duane and Dicky had very different influences. For instance Duanes influences were Jazz Blues And of course rock and roll. While Dickys influences were Blue Grass and country. In fact when Dicky told Gregg about the new song he write ( Ramblin Man) he told Gregg it was a country song. Gregg responded man we could play The Star Spangled Banner and I"m damn sure it would sound like the ABB. And of course it was a big hit for the ABB.
Moi, of course I like you play my guitar, and play it so well. Yes, Angie, number 1. No doubt. But you play so well the others that this video is, how you say, fantastic.
Great video! The first 'Stones song I ever learned; taught myself, was As Tears Go By, in 1973 I believe. I was just twenty years old. All by ear, as I couldn't read music then. And I taught myself Angie, my mother's name. P.S. Your singing voice has really improved! Very nice! 👍
Hey brother, you know there are a lot of people playing covers out there, but lots of dirty sound. I sincerely think you sound very clean and great. Would be lovely to see more acoustic cover songs ! And why not of the rolling stones! That even rhymes, cheers!
its so nice that i found this video! in the last 2 years my gitarplaying grows up and i need some new stuff to practise and yes here it is. Thank you! Update: You are so nice acting! For sure i like the stones since years but i wish to play it on my acoustic and sing the nice melodies. It keeps the songs alive how you perform it! Really thank you to wake my hunger up! ( sorry i´m from germany, my english is as bad as your german:)
Let It Bleed, You Got the Silver, Dead Flowers, Moonlight Mile, Sweet Virginia, Torn and Frayed, Loving Cup. Those are just the first ones that come to mind. Personally, even a list of top 15 Rolling Stones acoustic songs is pretty hard to make. Mick and Keith are the best songwriters ever!

Awesome I couldn't agree more. Cheers Pilgrim !!
Brilliant stuff Tom, do you play around Ireland would be great to see you live man.
I luv “you got the silver” especially Keith’s gravelly vocals and sublime slide guitar
That’s a great song. I love it Can’t believe it’s not in this top ten.
I remember when that song came out , it was during the Viet Nam war and I was just a kid living on Turner Air Base in Albany Ga. ( the song of course was Paint it Black).

No expectations is a heartbreaking, shattering song. Thank you for playing it.
Keith Richards is a good place to start if you want to learn guitar.
Love in vain! Beautiful guitar-work that completely transformed this Robert Johnson song into something very special
Sweet Black Angel, I Got The Blues. Keith Richards' acoustic guitar playing is massively underrated - and rarely has anyone played the songs as he recorded them. The Rolling Stones isn`t Rock they are Rock`n`Roll!!!!
Agree Wild Horses and Angie for superb acoustic creativity and playing. Sweet Black Angel, Moonlight Mile have to be there to make it a Top Twelve.
Factory Girl, Prodigal Son, Love in Vane are acoustic gems

Wow! Very nice! And what a gorgeous ax!!
Fabulous. (As I said in my last comment). Thanks again. I’d probably add “Faraway Eyes” from “Some Girls”. It’s hilarious.
I love that you can hear old, rusty strings scraping on Brian’s slide playing on “No Expectations”
There is one record where Brian even goes so far as to play the Oboe (dandelion) that's one hard instrument to go and play, the guy was incredibly talented
Enjoyed your list…, but where is Beast of Burden???? I’d have shoehorned it in…, not sure which I’d have bumped. Thanks, again. Happy New Year 2023!

I would add Play With Fire and Back Street Girl to the awesome list of yours. ❤️

Great job as always boss your the man!!!
Just love this!! It's awesome what is possible to do with an acoustic guitarr. Paint it black is really cool!! Thank you!!

Sweet Virginia! Street fighting man (acoustic distortion original but almost acoustic clean as stripped version) and Dead Flowers too!
Dead flowers is great but Townes van zant was the one who did it acoustically.

You definitely ended on my favorite acoustic Stones song. Great video.
Excellent playing as usual. But let's have a shout for Sweet Black Angel, Prodigal Son, Factory Girl for Keith's acoustic talent.
