They would have been one of the greatest groups of the era and yet this is just a drop in the bucket of the Beatles work, not to mention their solo efforts. The fist song I ever learned to play on guitar 48 years ago was "And I love her". I still play Beatles songs whenever I need to feel joyous.

Absolutely!!! The warmth, the light, even the smell dammit :) !!! I love that the Harrisongs are pretty visceral in a way that you physically feel what they meant. the other one that hits it is "My Sweet Lord", it is as if it says god is IN the music (of course no matter what ones beliefs are, it's about the music).

Acoustic guitar playing has no real appeal because it is like flat ginger ale; no dynamics; no pedals, but this man (whom I've never seen or heard of before today,) has such a lyrical and dynamic style of playing that suddenly I'm interested in acoustic guitaring! (Color me SHOCKED!!!) Seriously, he's fabulous. (You can always tell the good ones; they can play bathtub stoppers and it sounds awesome.)

I can play pretty much all of these songs to a passable level, but Michelle has always eluded me. I think it's one of the most complicated of all Beatles' tunes!
What a sound you are getting on "Here Comes the Sun." As soon as you said "one of the more difficult acoustic" and "written by George Harrison," I knew what was coming. Beautifully done!

I was just watching a video about Sir Paul McCartney at the time when he had just broke up with the band. He started to play and record his own music and everytime magazines like Rolling Stone among others discredited Paul's work, saying it's just lousy. This just because they didn't like Paul since he's the one that broke up with the Beatles. At the end of the video all the interviews to Paul's "Wings" former members, they all couldn't stop calling Paul "pure genius " as they went on the interview , including fifth Beatle George Martin. 🎶👍

Yes, I lay in bed at night with my transistor radio and listened to the Beatles when their music was first played in the US. I well remember seeing them on the Ed Sullivan show for the first time. The Martin sounds really good. What model ? What strings ?

I was just watching a video about Sir Paul McCartney at the time when he had just broke up with the band. He started to play and record his own music and everytime magazines like Rolling Stone among others discredited Paul's work, saying it's just lousy. This just because they didn't like Paul since he's the one that broke up with the Beatles. At the end of the video all the interviews to Paul's "Wings" former members, they all couldn't stop calling Paul "pure genius " as they went on the interview , including fifth Beatle George Martin. 🎶👍
