One might say it's an...excellent...question. But seriously, back in the old days, people went to church even when they didn't believe because it was expected in society. It's really only around the late 70s/early 80s that people stopped going if they weren't actually invested in the religion.

It's the Simpsons. How can that possibly, in any way, be underrated? I doubt anyone who says "underrated" in comments actually knows the meaning of the word.
I saw the movie back in 2010, i was born in '06, so watching something like that movie now when the last time i saw it was almost 11 years ago, was definitely bringing me back some nostalgia
But Maggie's first word WASN'T "sequel." It was "Daddy." Season 4, Episode 10 "Lisa's First Word." This was just the first time the Simpson family HEARD her talk. :)
The sequel bit also isn't canon, it's a 4th wall break. The first time they would OFFICIALLY hear Maggie speak happened in a later episode. Also I think the writers actually forgot that they already made Maggie talk because she's said her first words multiple times at this point and every time they act like it's the first time they've done it.
Yeah, what the hell? There's actually a great reason for picking Green Day for The Simpsons movie too. Both The Simpsons (as shorts on the Tracey Ullman show) and Green Day started in 1987 and exploded in popularity in the early 90s. They're both American institutions, in my opinion.

@@BioYuGi Really? I recall seeing him outside the building
One might say it's an...excellent...question.
But seriously, back in the old days, people went to church even when they didn't believe because it was expected in society. It's really only around the late 70s/early 80s that people stopped going if they weren't actually invested in the religion.
Mr Burns is always in church. Simpsons uses the church as the social gathering place.
@@madtabby66 I thought it was the hall
Technically "sequel" is Maggie's second word.
What's the first?

Yep,was going to comment the same
This is a sin for Cinema Sins though not the movie. No one actually heard her first word.
Iwas gonna say that too
No, everyone except the Simpsons know Maggies first word. That is what they think is her first word.
Good point!
Good point, Maggie said her first word in 1992

That joke "sir, I think you've gone mad with power" still makes me laugh.

Of course I am have you ever tried going mad without power it's boring nobody listens to you.
15 years later, I still want another movie...
Me too.
I love the Simpson movie and tbh i thing it deserves a sin off for the joke with Ross Cargill "Sir I think youve gone mad with power" "Of course I have! Have you ever tried going mad without power? It's boring no one listens to ya" Simply because its bloody hilarious
"That's boobist."

Laura croft and wonder woman have suffered from boobism where they have their large boobs taken away. It's a sad state of affairs
You should have taken a sin off for Marge's look at seeing Spider-Pig.
should have been multiple sins off for the Spider-Pig song itself, that shit is funny.
That was synced perfectly at 3:19
This is probably one of the most underrated movies ever.
Except it is not in any conceivable way at all underrated
Ikr I love this movie so much!
Easily.
It's the Simpsons. How can that possibly, in any way, be underrated? I doubt anyone who says "underrated" in comments actually knows the meaning of the word.
One of the most underrated movies _so far_
a sin to CinemaSins for not remembering that Maggie's first word was daddy
That’s why she said “sequel”, non of the characters were around to hear her first word.
This movie brings about so many good memories from my childhood
I saw the movie back in 2010, i was born in '06, so watching something like that movie now when the last time i saw it was almost 11 years ago, was definitely bringing me back some nostalgia
1:44 tbh for a while I thought homer was saying cake multiple times
But Maggie's first word WASN'T "sequel."
It was "Daddy." Season 4, Episode 10 "Lisa's First Word." This was just the first time the Simpson family HEARD her talk. :)
It’s the same situation as ‘does a tree make a sound if nobody is around to hear it?’ The answer yes but, without proof it’s irrelevant
@@mekai-el6711 I just think it was worth one more sin there, hahaha
I was thinking the exact same thing for that last sin.
voiced by Elizabeth Taylor no less
The sequel bit also isn't canon, it's a 4th wall break. The first time they would OFFICIALLY hear Maggie speak happened in a later episode. Also I think the writers actually forgot that they already made Maggie talk because she's said her first words multiple times at this point and every time they act like it's the first time they've done it.
This movie is so underrated, I laugh at its jokes, even Dad agrees.
The fact that "Green Day" is a sin, is a sin.
@@_TracerBullet And their newest album was depressingly bad compared to their legacy much like modern seasons of the Simpsons.
@@joshbuckley5902 You're not wrong.
Considering their latest release “Father of All...”, i’d say it was well deserved,
How can a fact be a sin?
I watched this with my friends recently, and we made sure to take note that, in the event Springfield was destroyed, one of the last things Flanders says to his deeply religious child is “I wish you didn’t have the Devil’s curly hair!”
We couldn’t stop laughing
"That could seriously damage the gameboy." The real sin here is that on an original gameboy the power switch blocked the cartridge from being pulled out while the system was on.
Half of these end up as 'That was the joke'

Cinemasins is like homer in this movie, he is just talking while we are trying to watch a movie, and ruining it for everyone...
😂😂😂
Perfect alalogy
cinemasins love ruining your favorite movies.
He was so cocky showing off his simpsons knowledge in the beginning, but failed to show the knowledge that Maggie's first word was "Daddy" in the episode Lisa's First Word

1:27 Actually, as a Catholic, that joke really isn't very dated at all. Eighteen-ish years later, people are *still* not turning their cell phones off at church. Hell, last Sunday, the communion was briefly underscored by the Looney Tunes theme song.
Right, but these days you turn your phone to vibrate or mute rather than turning it off.

15:10 Maggie's first word was actually daddy, in the episode "Lisa's first word"
I will give one tiny bit of leeway. The family doesn’t know that that was her first word, Maggie was alone in her room when she said it. I still hate that this is technically her first public word, but I am willing to give some leeway
When Carl said "We only want Homer"; the chimp is attacking Maggie

Also the 'krusty spits out burger after ad' gag (which happens when they're shooting the ad at 4:55) was done back in 'lisas first word' in 1993!
Cinema sins should talk about the spongebob squarepants movie 2004.
I'm pretty sure the movie pokes fun at itself when the dome breaks by having somebody point out that nobody got hurt, and then immediately showing Dr. Nick getting crushed under a giant shard of glass.
