In Monster Inc. there is a huge monster walking down the street while Sully and Mike are on their way to work. You said that one giant monster was the only one shown, but there's obviously at least one more!
Soo, like in the original Mike said to Sully “you’ve been jealous of me since the fourth grade” as they were walking to work. So the movie shouldn’t have gone with them meeting in college. Idk how many sins that should be.
Truth be told they originally made that scene, but as they went on, it never really fitted in with the movie as it went from those 2 having a fight and pranking eachother in photo day to sulley even missing him the day mike moves out, so the directors just said it was a joke even though they thought that quote in the OG was too important to ignore
Maybe the round blue fur ball from the start of this movie was him and sully told him that after they became room mates bc when sully was the blue fur ball they look very different
Pixar can do whatever they want, it is their art, aftet all. Also that line was written as a hyperbole and should be considered as such. The amount of people that take it seriously is honestly quite concerning.
I found another sin: in the beginning, why would mike be knocking on the door to get out of the bus, the driver (who *operates* the door) is inside the bus.
1. "Sullivan" is a popular last name. -- Well, HERE it is. Doesn't mean it's popular in the monster world. 2. Scaring adults is more effective. -- But it would fail magnificently in a short time, because adults will believe other adults about seeing a monster come out of their closets, and people would band together and kill the monsters as they came out of the closet door. People don't believe children, and some children are so young, they're not capable of relaying the information.
Blackhawk4 Hahaha! Thank you. Although, I must concede that the intelligence my logical counter-arguments demonstrate is probably negated by the idiocy required of me in taking time and making a concerted effort to develop said counter-arguments in response to a comedy video on RUclips. :D
3. Monster differences are races not species which is why Mike and Celia date, but it's true I don't know how meat works there. 4.There was another giant moster. "Greg" the Godzilla-chicken monster who walked to work with Mike and Sully 5. Randall hid in he lamp and not just camoflauged because he had to hide his jacket as well. 6.(umbrella point) the college years were obviously in an equivalent human world "80s" which also means Mike's elementary school days were in an equivalant "60's" or "70's". We all know all 3 of those decades were MUCH laxer with safety, rules, etc than they are today. 7. (Minor point) The monster with the MU sticker was a female from the sorority EEK 8. Whether or not they have Ladybugs or silverback gorillas in the monster world is irrelavent. Monsters go into the human world all the time and at the absolute least, they have seen pictures/storybooks/plushes/etc of both in a child's room. When whoever researches children(as someone must be doing to relay what scares which particular child best) investigates these things I garauntee there are children who are terrified of one or both.
3:40 That's actually blowed my mind as a kid. 5:09 In my country (and several others) they changed the cupcakes. The cupcakes have smiley faces on them, and they become sad faces when Randy got them in his face. 12:00 Unfair? I don't know, if I don't remember correctly, but aren't every monster allowed to use their natural abilities? 14:30 Maybe, but adults also have more power and authority. I don't think the kids will do anything, but maybe they are afraid, grown adults will try to hunt and overpower them. Terrified, they would not be safe. Of course, I know the real reason is: because it is a prequel and can't have this, because the original movie would not make much sense, but I am trying to find an explanation. 15:50 I love this reference, it's perfect!
As a parent: Screaming: Probably just a temper tantrum from the kid not wanting to go to sleep Crying: Kid is generally upset and needs to be checked on

This is a monster society. It also does happen sometimes, I don't think the 2 wouldn't get promoted from mailroom since they show in the first movie that they are amazing at their jobs.
@@Groggle7141 being a scarer is a very important job as seen in the movie, so you’re saying I could probably start as a janitor in some corporate office and rank up to some ceo? “It also does happen sometimes” lol I wish but no it does not.
how to scare a teen 101: - sneak into teen room - creep towards bed - wake them up - tell them "no one will ever love you also the final is tomorrow" - get renewable energy from that scream alone
@@coughcough6933 "the wi-fi is down" can cause a myriad of reactions, as can "your phone is at 1%". the wifi being down doesn't necessarily mean that every teenager will start crying, because if you're not aware, most of us are literate and capable of finding things to pass the time. as for the second, your technology-obsessed monolithic understanding of teenagers would know damn well the phone that they are holding is at 1% and will captain their drowning ship to the bitter end. your comment isn't necessarily wrong, per se, but the location is key to obtaining the energy released from the scream - the room of the teenager. why wouldn't a teenager have their charger in their room? if they don't, they could just quietly open their door and retrieve one. and at night, if the wi-fi's down, then, like, they could just decide, "oh, well, i guess i can just fall asleep now."
The biggest sin is the fact that they say Mike and Sullivan met in Monsters University/School of Scaring yet they've talked about Mike passing notes to susie boils (however the fuck you say her name) while Sullivan and the rest of the class were studying Geography.
Yep but passing notes to girls is something kiddies do in school, not young adults in college. Also, you’d have to choose Geography to study at University level and clearly Mike & Sulley did not… and can we also agree that Sulley (portrayed as lazy af and winging University on his dad’s rep) would never sit there concentrating on Geography whilst Mike (who was a dedicated A* nerd in this film) spent time passing notes to a girl we never saw in this movie anyway.
To be fair, Mike and Sully could’ve still been classmates and not have known each other. My parents both went to the same high school and even shared some of the same friends, but they didn’t properly meet until college.
@@annonimowse9929Your first sentence doesn't contradict the comment, it agrees with it. I'm confused why you tried to use that as a point to explain away the problem it presented.

Blue Dragon As a child: Shape shifting humanoid monsters that disguise themselves as toys found in the human world, like toy balls, that roll themselves out and make noise to freak the monster kids out. As a teen: Shapeshifting humans, but now they're floating exam papers, big red Fs, mirrors showing them what they'll supposedly be like in a few years. As an adult: Shape shifting humanoid monsters, but as tax papers, burning money, bills, mirrors that show the way they supposedly already look. As an elderly monster: Someone who's going to get arrested in a couple hours.
Maybe, due to Sully's father being a famous scarer and Mike collecting all the trading cards, he could have known about Sully despite never meeting him.
+Abi Tulabot Nobody said they knew each other, they just said that Mike was jealous of him. If Sully's dad was famous (and therefore in the news) then it is likely Sully was in the news too (for example; David Beckham and Brooklyn Beckham) and so Mike could have been jealous of Sully, since 4th grade, from seeing him on the news.
I read that the director of this movie asked the director of the first movie about that too. And despite the directors appreciating that he wanted to respect the first movie like that, they decided to pass it off as "just something monsters say".
You missed a big sin, the whole "mike meeting Sully" for the first time thing is wrong when clearly in the first movie, towards the beginning, mike says " you've been jealous of me since the first grade" when on their way to work. So for the most part this whole movie's plot contradicts the first Monster's inc.
In a “behind the scene” kinda thing, the director discussed this. They were planning on the opening scene to be mike and sully meeting and not liking each other since they were little and the rivalry continued on over the years. But they changed that idea.
Only little children screams work to power their world, so Six Flags wouldn't work since most of their rides are for older kids and adults. Methinks the door should be to either Knott's Sidewinder or Pony Express and Disneyland's play world where they have Dumbo or other kid's rides. But yeah, I agree, brilliant thinking, sir!
In 2:55 he says this is the only giant monster we've seen in the Monster's Inc. movies which is not true. Sulley says good morning to a giant monster at a crosswalk in the first Monster's Inc.
15:19 It's also a sin that the literally has no reason to turn his back on them while talking to them, other than for the audience to see and recognise him. It would make so much more sense to turn his back on the camera and face them while talking to them.
The reason why they scare children and not adults is that the adults will think the children had nightmares. If they scared adults all of man kind would start to notice that all doors on planet earth can be portals that giant monsters with fangs and claws can come out and of course would realize that that was a huge problem and try to kill them.
the part that bugs me is this, would a monster like sully not actually give away the monster world. i mean the whole point of scaring as a monster is for it to not be proven. but if you hear a roar coming from your kids room, that shit isn't in your head anymore.
I wished you commented on how the movie retconned Mike and Sully's friendship. In the first movie, they've been friends nearly their whole lives, yet they're just meeting each other in the second movie. Unless I'm wrong.
They did a bullshit explanation for this too. This movie had a different director than the first one and when he was asked about the continuity error his response was "Oh the fourth grade thing is just a monster expression." Yes, they deliberately ignored their own continuity and tried to cover it up, because they honestly weren't expecting people to have noticed that plot hole.
@@shwahgamer The director of MU tried to make this movie work with that line, it was originally going to start in kindergarten with Mike and Sulley meeting but it didn’t work. After a ton of rewrites, John Laseter and Pete Doctor told Dan Scanlon to ignore the plot hole to make the story flow better. That’s why they retconned that one line.
@@joshuajoe1419 Idk how they couldn't make it work. All they had to do was have Scully in the field trip with Mike. They didn't even need to interact. That way the 4th grade line can still be viable and they can still become best friends in college. They went out of their way to cameo other random monsters from the first film but couldn't put in one of the most important concepts?
I dont think cinema sins is even trying anymore. His vids used to be funny and give you that "huh, i never noticed that", thought. Now its, "that was specifically explained, or yup there were 3 giants in this one alone...2 of which you specifically pointed out yourself!

more like *CHILD SCREAMINGU* "ah, must be nothing wrong, ill check if i still have a child tomorrow," *CHILD CRYING* "HOLY CRAP WHATS WRONG? ARE YOU HURT? LETS GO TAKE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW"
1000% agree that Sulley’s scare was better. I have no idea what Worthington’s child was afraid of but Sulley matched his perfectly. The jump for thunder and roar as the lion (obviously), while Worthington jumped up and screamed.
Sin 111: Hardscrable didn't expel Mike and Sully. The university president did, and Hardscrable is the DEAN. She even says that there was nothing she could do for them but wish them luck.
The director actually knew about the continuity error. www.slashfilm.com/monsters-university-director-explains-the-continuity-problem-in-mike-and-sullys-backstory/
My question: Why is it called *monsters* university? Like, we’re humans, and we don’t call it humans university. So why would monsters call it monsters university?
I also found that weird. They’re logo is also the Monsters inc logo. So is the company associated with the college? If you went to MU instead of Fear Tech do u have a better chance of getting hired?
I have another sin for you...around 6:47, Dean Hardscrabble tells Sulley that his roar would make the child cry, thus alerting his parents...but wouldn't the parents also come running if they heard the child screaming in terror?
Also, you bring up a good point: Randy has an unfair advantage in one of the key aspects of scaring. I would think anyone who could turn invisible would be recognized as uniquely useful to this society and would get way more attention than any of these other random assholes
There were also the legs of one at the beginning of the first movie and in the football game even in this video there's another one. AND the thing in the library is also giant.
I'd like to think that maybe they met in the 4th grade but were acquaintances and not really friends. I met someone in the 2nd grade and we went to the same school all the way until 12th grade. We weren't really friends. Then went our own way for college but just now after I finished college, are now becoming friends. We're now 21. We met in the 2nd grade, and I wouldn't consider us friends until now.
hopegirl518 Ashlynn but there was a teaser trailer where Sully asks Mike, “Do you remember the fifth grade and you were passing notes to Susie Boyle? The rest of us were studying geography!” So they did meet before college. I’m not mad at this movie though. I honestly have a bias cause Monsters Inc is my fave Pixar film and Mike is one of my fave Disney characters but that inconsistency did bother me a bit.
Why scaring Adults won't work *Monster Sneaks into room and then roars* Adult wakes up.....but instead of just screaming, they scream and grab a gun and shoot the monster *Monster tries to escape back through the closet* Unlike a kid, adults won't just stay there and cry, they would go after the monster and come through back to the monster world with the monster if it isn't fast enough or you know, you get those adults that are very sound sleepers and can't be woken up by anything
*and grab a gun and shoot the monster* That part worried me for a second before I remembered that possessing weapons isn't uncommon in the whole world (in Germany for example where I live having a weapon is pretty uncommon (even though there are people who do of course) so that's very likely nothing many adults here would even be able to do).
To be honest, I'm a legal adult and I would probably still cry if I saw a giant fucking lizard thing that can become invisible, or a green ball monster that had one eye and razor sharp teeth.
Or there is the rest of us in America, who when we see this bitch ain't human, realize it's hunting season and don't even let it get back to the door home.

It could be, the world may never know!
@@multiplefandomlover7179 I just thought it be a funny thing to point out. Since it’s all just satire in the video!!

I found another sin: in the beginning, why would mike be knocking on the door to get out of the bus, the driver (who *operates* the door) is inside the bus.
The bus driver was the teacher.
He even called the driver by his name “Joe” and wished him luck with a crossword puzzle
The bus driver was outside.
Very good point... I'm surprised HE didn't get that
This is one of the few actually intelligent comments I've seen ever on this website. Good job!!
Blackhawk4
Hahaha! Thank you. Although, I must concede that the intelligence my logical counter-arguments demonstrate is probably negated by the idiocy required of me in taking time and making a concerted effort to develop said counter-arguments in response to a comedy video on RUclips. :D
SJActress nah, you're good! I don't think noticing something incorrect and thus pointing it out is a form of idiocy. Again though, very nice comments!
Blackhawk4 You do not read many comments, do you?
3. Monster differences are races not species which is why Mike and Celia date, but it's true I don't know how meat works there.
4.There was another giant moster. "Greg" the Godzilla-chicken monster who walked to work with Mike and Sully
7. (Minor point) The monster with the MU sticker was a female from the sorority EEK
On the adult scaring thing, a lot of adults probably just dismiss their kid seeing a monster anyway, so them only scaring kids makes even more sense
"Oh yeah, if the kid starts crying it's parents will come in."
(kid screams)
"Walk it off, Timmy."
As a parent:
Screaming: Probably just a temper tantrum from the kid not wanting to go to sleep
Crying: Kid is generally upset and needs to be checked on
idk why they act like teens or adults wouldn't be scared of a strange creature invading their home
Beni Because it is much easier to scare a small child and not to mention the parents may decide to fight back with a knife or gun
@@VeraBean You're telling me that if your kid started screaming about an intruder at 3 am you wouldn't go check?
@@VeraBean As a parent of 2 as well in both situations i would check on them if screaming running like mad and in the other just walking since kid cries quite easily but scream of terror damn i would be there in a sec

Charlotte Fernau nah. You walk up to them and tell them “the WiFi is down” or “your phone is at 1% and there is no charger”
Eva C nah. You walk up to them and tell them “the WiFi is down” or “your phone is at 1% and there is no charger”

They teach geography in college too dumbass

In Monsters Inc., Mike says to Sully " you've been jealous of my looks since 4th grade". This doesn't make sense considering they met in college..
+Abi Tulabot Woops, my bad. I misread and haven't watched the movie in a long time. That's a shame🤔
I read that the director of this movie asked the director of the first movie about that too. And despite the directors appreciating that he wanted to respect the first movie like that, they decided to pass it off as "just something monsters say".
There was a deleted scene in MU that had it that the two did meet in the 4th grade, but the scene went on for too long, so it was changed.
this was a great movie. i liked how the end picked up a little before the first movie began, and the animation was FLAWLESS
You missed a big sin, the whole "mike meeting Sully" for the first time thing is wrong when clearly in the first movie, towards the beginning, mike says " you've been jealous of me since the first grade" when on their way to work. So for the most part this whole movie's plot contradicts the first Monster's inc.
Or maybe he meant the first day of university in the first movie?
But first grade sounded better... XD
Trae Vlogs I think someone on the crew (director?) said to treat that as an expression (I can't remember who exactly)
Maybe he was just trying to get a point across
In a “behind the scene” kinda thing, the director discussed this. They were planning on the opening scene to be mike and sully meeting and not liking each other since they were little and the rivalry continued on over the years. But they changed that idea.
it's an expression!
Why not just make a door to sixflags? Then there wouldn't even have to be any scarers.

The reason why they scare children and not adults is that the adults will think the children had nightmares. If they scared adults all of man kind would start to notice that all doors on planet earth can be portals that giant monsters with fangs and claws can come out and of course would realize that that was a huge problem and try to kill them.
People would stop using doors.
Isaac Smith that wasn't the question. The question was how does screaming create energy?
the part that bugs me is this, would a monster like sully not actually give away the monster world. i mean the whole point of scaring as a monster is for it to not be proven. but if you hear a roar coming from your kids room, that shit isn't in your head anymore.
Also, adults could be police officers with guns that can kill the monsters

Wym?
They did a bullshit explanation for this too. This movie had a different director than the first one and when he was asked about the continuity error his response was "Oh the fourth grade thing is just a monster expression."
Yes, they deliberately ignored their own continuity and tried to cover it up, because they honestly weren't expecting people to have noticed that plot hole.
What? I’m confused on what your insinuating.
Why scaring Adults won't work
*Monster Sneaks into room and then roars*
Adult wakes up.....but instead of just screaming, they scream and grab a gun and shoot the monster
*Monster tries to escape back through the closet*
Unlike a kid, adults won't just stay there and cry, they would go after the monster and come through back to the monster world with the monster if it isn't fast enough
or you know, you get those adults that are very sound sleepers and can't be woken up by anything
*and grab a gun and shoot the monster*
That part worried me for a second before I remembered that possessing weapons isn't uncommon in the whole world (in Germany for example where I live having a weapon is pretty uncommon (even though there are people who do of course) so that's very likely nothing many adults here would even be able to do).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that
i believe his name was ted and he clucked like a rooster.
+Jessica Carroll bawk bawk (chicken sound)
"See? Ted's walking to work."
"Yeah, big deal. Guy takes 5 steps and he's there."
I just love it when cinema sins, sins. It always amuses me.
I love Randy in this movie, I'd totally hang out with the guy who brought cupcakes. I love cupcakes to.
I love the scene where they scare the adults. I genuinely love this whole film but that's probably my favourite scene
